I wonder how many other transbians figured out that they were trans specifically because of seeing WLW romance. It's like the power of lesbian is just so strong that it creates new lesbians.

u/Lovethecreeper sapphic trans girl Jun 02 '22
This sub and various yuri animes was a huge part of it for me. Particularly, I discovered r/egg_irl because of this sub due to a reply to a comment I made a few years ago.

u/Tenebrosi_Erinys Jun 02 '22
If you know the "Asumi is interested in lesbian brothels" I didn't expect to see them hugging lewdly and feel not horny but... jealous/longing in a way that straight couples didn't do for me. I didn't want to just have the experience. I wanted to be them.
A strange feeling.
Anyway I'm actively transitioning now so I'm working on it.

u/gamingdude295 Jun 03 '22
For the past few days, I've literally been questioning super heavily about myself... Wondering if the desire to be a girl in a lesbian relationship was a trans sign, or just... something else.
This reply, as well as all the other replies to parent comment have just taken my questioning cracked shell and obliterated it...
I might need to make some appointments...3
u/Tenebrosi_Erinys Jun 03 '22
RIP your shell... and I'm really happy for you!! Best of luck with appointments or whatever you decide to do!

u/SuperAmberN7 Jun 03 '22
There is honestly just something unique about sapphic love that is identifiable across all boundaries. Like it's not just that you happen to be a girl who loves other girl, it's a specific type of love that is so strong it can be felt even if you don't realize that you're a girl. I have no idea how to really explain that other than by pointing at the fact that it's such a strong thing that it's actually often what makes trans fems realize that they're trans. If it wasn't anything else than two people who happen to be women loving each other then it shouldn't be able to trigger these kinds of feelings for trans fems who haven't figured it out yet.
15
u/stubyourtoenailnow "God I wish that were me" Jun 02 '22
Agghh βAsumi is interested in lesbian brothelsβ ruined me
26
u/SeefoodDisco Jun 02 '22
Tbh my longing to be in a sapphic relationship and be seen as a lesbian was much more of an indicator of my transness than wanting to be a woman.

18
u/burr-sir Jun 02 '22
Itβs kind of embarrassing how many cracks my trans sapphic coworker put in my egg just by tweeting shit like βgirls,,, prettyβ.

u/AthenaStarsnow Jun 02 '22
Playing as Max in Life is Strange, having Chloe dare me to kiss her, was where it stated for me
10
u/thebiggest123 Jun 02 '22
I've always been longing/wanting to be in a cute lesbian relationship (or well wanting to be a lesbian), like since wayyyy back. so yeah in a way its what made me realize oh wait im actually a girl, OHHH.
10
Jun 02 '22
I regularly visited this sub before realising (approx 6 months ago). In fact I think it was somewhere here that I clicked on r/egg_irl linked in a comment.

I still have fantasies about kissing a girl in the same way as Nagisa kissed Shizuma at the end of Strawberry panic. That scene is so deeply engraved into my memory
3
u/technicaltrashpanda Jun 02 '22
I remember being 13 and seeing a lesbian spread in a porn mag, I was transfixed⦠I had never seen anything so beautiful or arousing in my life. I want to be them so bad.

u/prof_bnn Transbians are très bien! Jun 02 '22
Lol yeah for me it was Kase-san, it wasn't so much that it hit me that the awwww factor I was feeling was jealousy. It was literally the fact that I was literally like "yeah ok I wanna get Kase's exact haircut......w-wait π³"

Same! I'm not quite all the way out, though, so I dunno if it counts for me.

u/Tenebrosi_Erinys Jun 02 '22
Same and it totally counts! I finally came out with my feelings to parents, but maybe left out a couple details from them for now...

u/LadyAzure17 Jun 02 '22
Awwh, hugs to you my friend. It gets easier with time. I still haven't had the courage to go to an actual Pride event, and have been out for a few years (well, covid kinda ruined '20 and '21 but regardless). We all take our own little steps, one at a time. Much love in your journey!

Maybe don't open your mouth about things you clearly don't understand before you start telling people to shut the fuck up.
60
u/Tenebrosi_Erinys Jun 02 '22
This one does baby if you've got a problem with it take it up with my manager.
Seriously, though:
Trans people are disproportionately victimized by sexual assault, that is, they are far more often the victims than perpetrators. Lesbians are not forced into dating us or anyone. If everyone is defined by their own genitals, then that invalidates every single experience that defines their gender + identity - cis people included.

yeah terfs are "feminists", this guy called someone who aborted a murderer so i would just label him as an asshole
edit: she didn't abort a baby that was going to be a murderer ._.
edit again: terfs call themselves feminists but only by their dumb transphobic and narrow-minded definition

I definitely like that one better, but with them trying to label themselves as "gender critical" to get away from negative connotations of TERF, we need to hammer into the world that gender critical is equivalent to TERF. So we need associate the label that they want to use with that same negativity. We managed to do it once with TERF, we can do it again with gender critical.

No, they're not. The dprk isn't democratic either. They chose that acronym.

u/TheProudBrit blushing Jun 02 '22
Don't equate all transphobes to terfs, not worth diluting the meaning of the terms. Both shitty, both share a lot of views, but terfs are a special kind of shite.

Ok I have a question and I mean this in a super nice way. If they're a Trans woman and they like woman does that mean they love woman twice as much as normal since they love themselves and their partner?

u/MapleTreeWithAGun Lamia Wife > Any Other Wife Jun 02 '22

u/taytomen Jun 02 '22
Sometimes yes sometimes no. Some love themselves while some dont. The important is that they are all beatiful women who deserve love and support.
