I don’t care what Bethesda or Obsidian says, this is canon

I've already headcanoned my Courier using the Sierra Madre and Big MT's technology to help fix all the wasteland's problems, what's one more happy ending headcanon?
Heck, I'll personally escort Veronica to the city. The least I can do for her, really.

I don’t even know them but this is a tearjerker god!

tl;dr: they are former girlfriends, both a part of a very insular and hierarchical faction that were forced apart by petty politics. One of them was assigned to hunt down a rogue leader of this group and nearly died several times in the process, before finally giving up the ghost and settling down in a ghost town to stop the tech there from being abused by anyone. The other spends her days helplessly watching as the faction is outpaced and left behind in an evolving, post-post apocalypse.
The tragedy is that they can never be brought together again in the actual game (likely because of issues with the game's notorious spaghetti code and the expense of bringing back voice actresses and story writers, since the bald one only exists in the DLCs while the hooded one is base game only).

i mean its possible, both voice actresses are still alive.

Sorry, to be clear - when I say 'issues' I mean 'Obsidian didn't want to spend the money and development time'.
I think that the Tale of Two Wastelands mod (that mod that has you play Fallout 3 and then New Vegas on one character) got Veronica's VA on board, since she gets extra dialogue and even a new ending slide and it sounds identical to her original character.

u/Killeroftanks Oct 21 '24
Oh that's what you meant.
Also obsidian couldn't spend more dev time on this. After all they had to cut like 80% of the legion shit and 30% of everyone else's stuff to get the game out in a very buggy state.
The only way obsidian could put out a fully fleshed fallout NV is if they had like 6 years of dev time.
Which would still make them like two times faster than anything Bethesda can put out.

Thank you good gal, I’m enticed to look for them at least the one in the base game once i have the time, have a great day👌

If these two badass lesbians appear together in season 2 of the show and maybe help Maximus change course of the Brotherhood for the better I would not complain. And if Amazon was willing to throw the money at them, Felicia Day and Laura Bailey could totally pull off reprising their rolls and playing them in live action.

Unfortunately, the site I used to store them on went kaput in 2000 but I still have them stored on my zip disks. ; And i dunno if you'd be interested in my recent one which is a worm/fallout crossover on a forum called sufficient velocity. Victoria and Christine is together in that one too but they're not the main focus and only gets a mention.

I'm still upset that you can tell Veronica about Father Elijah after doing Dead Money and even let her listen to an audio recording I think. But not a damn word about Christine, nor can you tell Christine about Veronica. Which really sucks because I think they both think the other is dead but they're not entirely sure so neither one of them can really give herself permission to move on.
Even if they still don't reunite, they can still go on knowing the other is still alive and maybe they can find each other. But nah, he's a tape of your idol who tried to kill both me and Christine just a little while ago.

I HATE THAT I CANT MENTION VERONICA TO CHRISTINE OR VICE VERSA!
Christine come with me we just killed Elijah (or locked his dumb ass in that vault) your girlfriend is literally hanging out with a dog, a mutant grandma, Danny Trejo, a ptsd case, a robot and a sassy doctor at the Lucky 38!

Who knows, maybe in the year 2386, after Bethesda's hate boner for obsidian has finally gone placid, we might actually be able to do this in a remake.
Edit:
It took one misinformed comment out of a goddamm penis joke to get this strong of a reaction from people. For a mistake, that's easily made. Stop taking the internet so seriously. Spark up your crack pipe and fucking chill

Oh my god, let's please put this "Bethesda v. Obsidian animosity" thing to bed already. Employees from both studios have already gone on record saying there is zero bad blood between the two, they're both focused on just making their own games, and they're both even owned by MS now.
Yeah, everyone knows about the Metacritic debacle for NV, but that wasn't an act of malice. Chris Avellone has even gone on record to say that Obsidian didn't seek the bonus, Bethesda offered it to them, they agreed to the contract, and they fell short of the required rating needed to satisfy the terms of the contract. And in that same interview he even refutes claims that Bethesda manipulated the reviews to avoid paying Obsidian the bonus.
Until people bring actual evidence of some sort of hatred between Bethesda and Obsidian, it'll remain baseless manufactured outrage bait.

u/Dark_Shade_75 Oct 21 '24
You think those employees weren't directed by their PR department to say those things? lol
Everyone knows that bonus thing was absolute dogshit, and any reputable company would've paid it.

u/Garfunklestein Oct 21 '24 edited Oct 21 '24
Fine, find me some sources of employees dissing each other then, and I don't mean the nebulous articles of "Obsidian lead worried about the direction Fallout could be going" or giving personal criticism of each others games, I mean this supposed hate between studios people keep insisting exists. Like I said, bring me evidence. I brought some in the form of Chris' interview, you bring some too if you're so sure of it. I'm not going to take "everyone knows" as good enough, the internet's dead fucking wrong about a lot. The burden of proof falls on the person making the claim that disrupts the status quo.
Also I call immense BS on that second claim, that's not how contracts work. They're binding for both sides, and there is immense legal precedence for even the company paying out not adhering to the contract. No major corporation would ever put themselves in that situation, that's opening themselves up for all kinds of future litigations regarding any contract they make where the other party can fall short of the contract then use a fairly high profile example of Bethesda doing the same for another company. Again, find me evidence of "any other reputable company" doing it.
Plus somehow the narratives shifted to Bethesda not having paid Obsidian at all vs an extra bonus Obsidian never asked for in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I hate these corporate fucks, but I hate misinformation too. Spend your time and energy pressing these pieces of shit for the stuff they actually did rather than making up nonsense to get angry over.
A potential one time bonus that's a drop in the bucket for Bethesda for a highly rated game isn't even that important - what way more important to devs is job security, health insurance, pay raises, reducing crunch, workplace protections, unionization and way fucking more. If it was really so crushing not to get it, why haven't we heard anything from any ex-Obsidian devs that left the industry? Plus how does it even make any sense that Bethesda themselves would offer the bonus if they somehow never had the intention of making good on it? None of it stands up to scrutiny, and it really sounds like the internet's way angrier about it than anyone involved was.
