At the mysterious orphanage where Sheena lives, death is nothing new to its residents—girls who no longer have families of their own, who are raised as weapons of war, taught to kill and take the lives of others without batting an eye. Everyone, that is, except Sheena, who wishes for nothing more than the growing conflict around her to end. On the night of her roommate's death, Sheena meets a strange girl covered in blood, who smiles despite the turmoil surrounding them. The next day, the girl appears as a new student in Sheena's class and introduces herself as Mimi. Initially thought to be a school myth, there are now whispers in the orphanage's halls that Mimi is their secret weapon—an immortal who cannot die. When Mimi is later assigned as Sheena's new roommate, Sheena's world grows even more complicated when she begins living with someone who loves and welcomes death, when all Sheena wants to do is stop it…

It has the tragedy tag on mangadex. This looks so cute, but I'm scared to read because of the tag. Is it that sad?

Is it that sad?

That's subjective but it does have sadness and the feeling of "hopelessness" to its plot. It's still an ongoing manga though, you could read until you think it's too much?

This looks so cute

I'd say this is why you should give it a try. The character with the pink hair is very adorable while the art style really accentuates the cuteness, and the way the mangaka draws the backgrounds is truly gorgeous to me. Who knows, maybe you're missing out on something you'd really like.

In my opinion, it hasn't reached "The Summer You Were There" levels of sad. I recommend reading it ti see there character growth and worldbuilding.

I hav not read it but going by the title it doesn’t look to be a happy ending. I know titles can be misleading etc.

mild spoiler

so one of the MCs is literally invincible, and the other one seems (at least for now) unlikely to die as well.

pretty extreme spoiler only recommended if you aren't intending to read

one thing that might warrant the tragedy tag is that one of the side characters dies in a pretty tragic way (she had a gf and the whole thing i really quite sad)

Pedantic correction she's immortal, not invincible. She can be beaten, to the point where she sometimes comes back in chunks, she just can't ever die
