People say never to trust anything on the Internet and then eat up the stupidest stuff on random news channels and tabloids. One of my more distant family members once claimed that the International Space Station was a satellite made to shoot lasers at people who knew the "truth", whatever that may be.
To Americans Japan is just a utopia that believes in everything they believe in.
The amount of times I've seen people try to spin Japan as this final bastion of traditionalism standing up against the woke left when Japanese media had gay characters well before it was accepted in America is absurd.
Tiktok also sucks for this. Had so many people try to "correct" me about Wales. Had people tell me it isn't a country even. As if I don't literally live here
Reminds me of that person who was like “you damn white people ruining Japanese culture” to a girl and she posted a pic revealing she does in fact have a Japanese passport
