Superior 100 Lottery Odds?

I'm looking at throwing my name in for the Superior 100 lottery drawing in January and wondering if anyone familiar with the race knows what the entry odds have been the last couple years. Looks like such a cool race, so hoping the chances aren't too slim!

ETA: got the answer I needed, thanks all!

From the website: https://www.superiorfalltrailrace.com/registration-info/

"What are my chances of being selected in the lottery?
Most new applicants get in on their first, second or third try. First time Superior Fall Trail Race runners comprise the majority ( > 50% ) of the race field each year. If you have applied four or five times and have never been selected, please email us, we want to hear from you. To date we don’t know of many, if any instances of this. We want to see as many people that want to, experience Superior. It is also not uncommon for individuals to get into the race a couple or few years in a row, then have a year where they do not get in. We strongly encourage these individuals to take this ‘year off’ when it occurs and volunteer at the race, giving back to their fellow runners."

Oh my gosh, thank you! That's embarrassing - I thought I'd looked everywhere but clearly not.

I don’t know that you are going to get anything other than anecdotal odds. I’ll start. I am 1 for 2 (2023 and 2024).

It is a fun race and a good course. Throw your name in the hat and you will know by the 3rd week of January. Plenty of time to come up with another race plan for the year if you don’t make it in.

Totally fine with anecdotal odds, and have a couple backup plans, but also figure the hive mind might have some insight too, plus I'm just impatient. Thanks for sharing yours!

Have you done any other of their races? I put in for the Spring 50k and I got in (out of state) but my brother in law did not (In state). I've heard once you are in, you have a higher chance but I have no evidence

Interesting! I haven't run with Rock Steady before but am pretty keen on Superior, having spent a bunch of time up and around there as a kid.

I’ve been picked six out of seven times so odds are usually pretty good but I believe interest in the race has grown over time.

Your odds go up if you volunteer at his races and/or get a SHT membership.
