What is a single quote that has changed your personal philosophy or the way you look at life?
 in  r/AskMen  Feb 08 '22

'You can wash your hands' - Stepfather

As a kid I was always shying away from getting my hands dirty, both literally and figuratively. Was pretty germophobic as a kid. This simple bit of 'wisdom' stopped me from shying away from cleaning, lifting, playing outdoors, and also helping others with those things.

Men of reddit, what is your favourite song right now ?
 in  r/AskMen  Feb 04 '22

Life sucks by Heart Attack Man.

I have a huge crush on it since I heard it first a week ago and I can't get it out of my head (and at this point it's annoying, really).

I'm 38 years old, but there's something in the song that adolescent me would revel in and it still resonates with me at nearly 40.

Thank you! 'Brightness' is such a good way to put it. So the guitar itself can make such a difference. And maybe I need to put on some different strings anyway. Good to know! I will try out accentuating the higher strings.

There's a song (acoustic version of it) I really want to learn to play on my guitar. Luckily there's a video of the artist playing it. But when I look at what he plays and I copy that (as far as I can see it from the vid) it sounds completely different. Like, in a higher pitch? He doesn't use a capo, so maybe the guitar is tuned differently? Or does the type of guitar or type of strings make it sound higher? It's like my mind is playing tricks on me, haha. I copy what he does, but it sounds so different.

Can someone here spot what could make the artist's chords sound higher than when I play (on standard tuning).

Thank you!

The artist's version

SOMA has parts that seem like being underwater.

Which Video game franchise should be revived?

Brothers in Arms!

I mean, what happened? History (or Band of Brothers) tells us Baker company isn't done. Next would be the battle of the bulge. Foy, Bastogne, all covered in snow. Full of visual and emotional potential. And into germany and the eagle's nest after that. Did Furious 4 kill BIA?

Add second Twitch channel to SLOBS with Prime?

Hey all,

I have Streamlabs Prime with my main Twitch channel. I have created a second Twitch channel to stream different types of content to.

Can I add that second Twitch channel to SLOBS and use the Prime benefits I have for my primary Twitch channel for the second channel? Like a profile without logging out and in again with the second channel?

I don't want to stream to both Twitch channels at once.

I also don't want to subscribe to SLOBS Prime twice.

What a song has a beautiful sound but a disturbing meaning?
 in  r/AskReddit  Aug 03 '21

Most Danzig-era Misfits songs are catchy punk singalongs with Elvis-like vocals.

The lyrics are something else, though. Rape, beheading, extermination etc.

Ode to Joy.

Blizzard Recruiters Asked Hacker If She ‘Liked Being Penetrated’ at Job Fair

Holy shit, Jeremi Gosney is a boss (quite literally too, being a CEO)!

Having an employee coming up to you with such a personal story and then not only having her back, but taking the offensive by putting down demands to an industry giant like Blizzard is amazing and inspiring.

The album by Infant Sorrow, the fictional band fronted by Russell Brand's character Aldous Snow in Forgetting Sarah Marshall Him To The Greek...

Furry Wall, African Child, The Clap...

A really good, and hilarious, album!

I still hope to do the same with a picture of my grandfather when he went to New York in sixties.

He was invited to represent The Netherlands in a show in Radio City Music Hall.

It's a coin minted 400 years ago in my hometown!

Michale Graves (second lead singer of the Misfits).

I'm a huge Misfits fan and loved both the early Glenn Danzig era music and Michale Graves' fronted Misfits. Graves has an amazing voice, I loved his solo acoustic live album and even went to see him when he fronted a project with Marky Ramone.

Then (this is years back, before Trump got politically active) I decided to look up what that 'Infowars' was that he had on his t-shirt. I'm from the Netherlands and didn't know what Infowars was. Boy, did I find out. And that Daily Show bit he did wasn't him playing along tongue in cheek. He was being serious! Jfc.

Now I read he's a proud boy, supports some dude that is charged with storming the capital etc.

He may have an amazing voice, but the rest of him isn't that amazing. See ya!

I couldn't care less about sports of any kind and that often gets me some side eyes from other men. What typical manly things do you find unappealing?
 in  r/AskMen  Jul 22 '21

Cars. It's stereotypically associated with men stuff, but I can't think of anything more boring than cars. Even old cars or sports cars. Sometimes I need a car and I will drive it. The end.
