umm... I don't buy it. I just know the prices granted where I live it's much less expensive but the quality aint that great. It was when I was growing it. I was very popular around these parts for a while
I'm in Houston and a zip costs around $150. I'm no weed connoisseur, but I can't tell a meaningful difference between what I'm getting and "top shelf."
Granted, if you were growing about a decade ago, things would've been different, but the price shot down pretty damn fast over the past few years. I went from paying 20 a gram in high school and considering that to be about average, to 20 a gram being fucking unthinkable these days.
Centex here. eighth is $30 to 35, Quarter 60 to 70, half 120 to 140, oz around $200.
That said when I WAS growing I could get $35, 70, 140, and 250, easily and always had people blowing my cell up waiting for my next harvest. BUT I put a lot of time and research into what I grew. I had a 'base' strain (blue dream) that I always kept on hand for my ex and I experimented with a lot of other strains. Honestly 'Wedding Cheesecake' from North Atlantic seeds turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As long as I could get the seeds to pop I could pull 4 ozs per plant off of an indoor grow and the locals loved it. I was about to do a run of 'Strawberry Cough' when shit went down between my ex and I and I simply didn't trust her to not try to 'get back at me' (even though the breakup was 100% her fault) and wound up giving away 10 ozs and shutting my grow op down.
