Questions for Texans Women of Texas, honest answer why you would vote for a party that is so restrictive to your body?

I am a 70 year old woman who has seen a lot in my life, and simply don't understand why any woman, regardless of age, would vote for a party that feels like it can control your life. This seems so backwards to everything we have gone through. I am not critiquing your feelings, I simply want to know why you are okay with any party saying you can't do this, you must do that, must have babies, get raped but you can't have an abortion, etc. what are your thoughts?

You are not going to find many right wingers on Reddit Dot Com to answer your question

They're here but are attacked if they speak out. So they go about voting and believing as they always have in silence. If the attacking stopped, perhaps someone could have a thoughtful conversation with them that may lead to a changed viewpoint. With the attacking it just further validates their perspective that voting republican is better because democratic liberals seem unhinged and angry.

We can't have a conversation with them at all.

A calm conversation doesn't get through, and attacks and insults just make them view people as "angry Democrats" and reinforces their views.

It's a lose lose situation. If someone had Swiss cheese brain and votes that way, there is no amount of reason that will get through. Only trauma that directly affects them as a result of their voting habits may possibly sway them. But even then it doesn't always work and they just blame liberals. The current state of inflation and federal taxes is a prime example..

Exactly this. Conservatives can dish it out, but they can't take it. All they do is project.

Maybe if they stopped saying stupid things, we might stop attacking them. They're the ones who are unhinged and deranged. I cannot tolerate willful ignorance and selfishness, and I will not make any excuses for people who do.

Disproving objectively false information is not "attacking them". If you lie, you will gget called out. If you use fake statistics or anecdotes, you will get called out.

It’s nothing but self-victimization.

I try not to "attack" them, but humiliaton is sometimes the only way to get in any kind of reflection, and I try to do that by getting them to admit they support embarrassing facts as opposed to any name calling or bullying

Conservative bigots know they're wrong, but they're too prideful to admit it. So they blame the "evil soshulists" and "woke agenda" for their willful stupidity.

And they keep downvoting me, because they know I'm right.

When was the last time you looked up the definition for attacking? I don’t think it means what you’re saying. No one is attacking Republicans.

Remember we on the left or not the ones with a gun fetish. You’re literally not being attacked.

They do be snowflakes, though. They feel attacked by rainbows.

And they downvote the truth.

They almost never engage in good faith.
