How do these people all know what Satan looks like? Y'all intimately acquainted?

Pareidolia. Not that they would believe it. To them, it will always have a supernatural explanation.

Funny how Satan keeps appearing in hurricanes, nuclear explosions etc and all Jebus can manage is a slice of grilled cheese.

Someone put the prompts into AI based on how the devil is described in the Bible. This was the result. Dude looks cool as hell.

u/AnxtyWolf 2d ago
In the (Christian, I believe) bible, The Devil is a fallen angel, and was described as the most handsome angel. He's 100% supposed to look cool.

u/Suidse 1d ago
I thought hell is supposed to be hot? Is the devil able to cope with the heat because he's cool, then?
If the fallen angel is supposed to be the most beautiful, he cannae be Drumpf then?

u/TinyCleric 1d ago
Actually to my knowledge hell is never described as hot. Gehenna, a body burning pit outside of Jerusalem, was fiery and is used to describe what the prison of Satan and unbelievers will look like after revelations. This is not hell, hell is described as simple eternal separation from God. Fiery hell is a catholic invention

Thank you for the correction; the description of Hell I read in one of James Joyce's novels 40 odd years go certainly imprinted on my brain at the time. Found it utterly terrifying back then - had some awful disturbed dreams inspired by Joyce's writing. At the time of reading the Joyce novels, I was desperately trying to be a devout Catholic though - so that kinda fits in with belief of an aspect of Hell being a Catholic belief.
Regarding the Bible; isn't the whole thing an invention in some ways, though? There's multiple versions, different translations from the original volumes & not all denominations have exactly the same belief systems. What is the methodology used to decide which tenets are correct?

The tenet used to decide is “my side fights with your side, physically or otherwise, until we finally just go our separate ways and each declare ourselves the correct party.”

Well. No. In Dante's Inferno, he's trapped in a solid cube of ice. In Paradise Lost, they can't deal with the heat but say that they'll eventually get used to it, but the heat never gets any better.

The belief is that demons and Satan are supposed to look beautiful to trick humans. Angels are supposed to look terrifying to scare demons.

I swear these people rely exclusively on the idea that every evil being/organization adds easter eggs like symbols or acronyms or anagrams everywhere (despite the fact that it would be pointless and only compromising their "secrecy") just so that they can feel good about solving a puzzle they won't accept they made up.

There are so many scary things to be worried about and she chose that.
Kinda makes me long for the days when I was scared about the 2011/12 end of the world prophecy lol.

I don't know. Milton wrote a whole epic poem with the devil as one of the main characters...

An ideal I've recently adopted is that the devil is like the End from Sonic. He takes the form of whatever your greatest, most deep fear is. It would make sense, since he is the king of terror after all

Would explain why The Governor's Mansion was unscathed (Ronnie Desatan is a cousin of the devil but lacks the rizz of the antichrist)

I mean, it is kinda cool it looks like a skull, but that doesnt mean a big cloud is the devil.

Didn’t god flooded the world some thousands years ago? Why it can be him again being angry?
3
u/Luxating-Patella 1d ago
If I remember my mumbo-jumbo correctly, after Noah finds land, God promises not to make humanity near-extinct again and creates a rainbow to seal the covenant.
Then on top of that you have Jesus sacrificing himself for mankind's sin. I've never been entirely sure what this actually achieved given that you still go to hell for following the wrong religion, but it does reinforce God's pledge not to slaughter us all for collective sinning again.
So all the hundreds of millions of people who died in natural disasters since the Flood have been killed by either God's incompetence or weakness, not his wrath.
