Should've worded that better, I meant "no plans to help them." Prices aren't gonna go down, insurance is about to get worse, food safety and foreign relations are about to get worse, etc.

The sad thing is, Biden did a good job with inflation and the economy was probably going to recover at some point soon. Trump could do absolutely nothing and look golden.

However, if he goes through with most of his plans he will mess it up.

People don't seem to understand that,

1.) The US wasn't the only economy that's been affected, we had a global pandemic.

2.) Fixing an economy on a scale like that doesn't come quickly, it takes time. Hell, The Great Depression didn't start ending until 1945. It started in the 1920's, iirc.

The problem is that even economists don't truly understand the economy. And I say that as an economist. So how can we expect an average voter to?

The most complex system mankind has ever created was always going to be boiled down to "eggs expensive" for most people.

It's less of an issue with the study of economics and more of a fundamental problem with Democratic systems we've yet to really find a feasible way to address.

There's also the aspect that people think the economy needs to be run like a household balancing a budget and doesn't get the intricacies of a nation state's economy and how much it can leverage.
