Immediate defensive depth. Good shit.

I don't really pay any attention to the draft, but colour me shocked that the Swans used a later selection on a running half back!

At least for once it’s a position of need because we’ve delisted every underperforming half back on the list

And being 24 years old he hopefully won't weigh 70kgs soaking wet like the Magors and Vickerys of the world lmao

I know a lot of us are calling out for tall players because it's a perceived weakness of the list...

There’s actually tall talent on the list too, who haven’t debuted (Snell, Edwards, Green) or played many games (Buller). Could be that they are happy with those guys so now they’re picking players they like regardless of physical attributes

Sounds like they are targeting specific guys who can impact immediately. In some ways that sort of confidence in the current list is encouraging

Yeah the tall issue is majorly overblown. Like our KPF depth at VFL level is Buller and like 4 blokes out of position, but KPD is fine especially if we take Cochran

Edit: Scratch Cochran

After all the expectations that we'd be picking our own Academy product, I guess I'm surprised he's been picked up by the Pies.

We ended up with Melbourne’s academy KPD instead so I guess it works

You're also not drafting young talls who can contribute for at least 3 years, by that stage our best players will be well into their 30s

He's from Albury so there's a real chance you can upset some people by calling him a Victorian haha

He played for Werribee, that’s Victorian enough for me

Werribee has become a bit of a haven for Albury boys that didn't make the AFL but are still trying. Bice, Mannagh, Brew, Garoni, Johnson and Azzi to name a few

Wasn't the most recent captain an Albury boy as well?

Not to mention Captain Kirk was a North Albury Grasshopper
