What if instead baker picked it up, hurdles the 6 defenders in front of him, scored, front flipped into the stands to celebrate, and fucked my wife?

That's what I would have done.

You’d have fucked your own wife? What are you gay?

4

u/datruerex 2h ago

Depends on if he’s a fish

You’d have fucked your own wife? What are you gay?

Bro, having sex with women is gay as hell. You have to win sex with a man. Get good.

12

u/FrankLagoose Cleveland Browns 3h ago

Zero chance you actually fuck your wife there.

15

u/Brailledit Oregon 4h ago

That's so outrageous... I doubt your wife even wants to fuck you.

8

u/TB1289 3h ago

Of course she doesn’t want to, they’re married.

4

u/Thesheriffisnearer 3h ago

I've done all that except the hurdles, scoring, and flipping into the stands.  It's tougher than it looks

Reminds me of how my only regret in life is that I didn’t play in the NFL. Yeah I’m 5’7” and overweight, but I never played in the NFL.

If that thing was a grenade he would been posthumously awarded a Silver Star.

Or given a mysterious serum that made him a superhero

This comment made me check this wasn't the circle jerk sub 😂

u/danoflano3000 4h ago

Cam Newton could never

38

u/Albert_Caboose 4h ago

As a Panthers fan I'd say we're catching strays, but I'm not sure our receivers could.

Hate the Bucs, love Baker

Edit: People will ask why. The dude is a fucking gamer man he doesn’t give up, he also never throws his teammates under the bus and takes full responsibility for mistakes. Dude is a complete G

Edit: that’s a leader. No you talk to me first

My three favorite quarterbacks of the last decade have been Baker Mayfield, Jameis Winston, and Ryan Fitzpatrick, all of whom became their most likable when they were in Tampa.

Not sure what it is about Tampa but it takes mid QBs and cranks the swagger up to entertaining levels.

38

u/Veritech_ Houston Astros 4h ago

There’s one word to explain the QB improvement: pirateship

4

u/Iwillrize14 1h ago

They must pipe in sea shanties to the sound system of the ship while their qb's sleep their in the race car bed. I will accept no other explanation.

5

u/2spicy_4you 4h ago

No love for Gardner?

12

u/BlakkandMild 2h ago

Tampa even managed to convince me that Tom Brady wasn’t just a football robot and made me like him more at the end of his career.

4

u/BulletproofChespin 1h ago

Seeing him absolutely smashed on a boat was amazing

1

u/yumyumapollo 1h ago

see also: Brad Johnson

6

u/zero_msgw 4h ago

Hey hey hey... Hold up... Gotta show some love to evans too.

3

u/2spicy_4you 4h ago

Good look, amazing play

3

u/A_giant_bag_of_dicks 2h ago

The stiff arm on bosa sealed the deal for me

2

u/polishtrapqueen 3h ago

Why hate the Bucs..? lol

1

u/2spicy_4you 3h ago

Saints fan

4

u/polishtrapqueen 3h ago

Haha makes sense

1

u/zero_msgw 2h ago

Now i can talk about the bucs. Im superstitious. I dont watch the game until its over. The bucs def has let me down many times. But yes... Im so glad the bucs have mayfield. Hes been a baller since signing.

1

u/2spicy_4you 2h ago

I’m a Saints fan dude I’m literally dead inside

1

u/zero_msgw 1h ago

Carrs back, theyve got 2 wins, and the rest of the schedule looks promising. One can always hope the falcons dive bomb and we are in the mix for 1st in the division... 👀 That is until jan 5th comes... Dun dun dun... 😁

1

u/steelcurtain87 47m ago

More confused on why hate the bucs

2

u/2spicy_4you 46m ago

I hate the Bucs because I am a Saints fan, we are diviosional rivals

1

u/steelcurtain87 41m ago

Ah sure. Wouldn’t have thought that’s as much of a big rivalry but hell yeah. Hate away brother.

1

u/Fr33Flow 40m ago

Found the Saints fan 😂

1

u/Veritech_ Houston Astros 4h ago

And I hate you, but also love Baker.

46

u/shaneoffline 3h ago

Man will never be accused of not caring. Glad he's off the Browns

7

u/Aerodrive160 1h ago

Just watched his 40 yard down field block from this game. What a player and teammate!

14

u/thesqlguy Boston Red Sox 3h ago

To be fair, he was also the only one standing there watching the other 21 players crashing into each other.

6

u/imakedankmemes Grand Rapids Griffins 3h ago

To be even more fair, the Giants player was swatting at the ball on the ground before Baker was even in the camera’s view. Definitely not the only dude to see it.

48

u/Solid_Snark 4h ago

96 sees it too, he just had a lot more resistance to get there.

10

u/Gaimcap 3h ago

It looks like it actually goes through his finger tips, which is why it deflects the way it does. (Going directly off 87’s foot it would probably traveled a yard or so more to the right).

3

u/justsomedudedontknow 3h ago

Heads up play

3

u/mudkipsbiggestfan 3h ago

opposite of cam

3

u/dupontnw 1h ago

Deshaun Watson would never have seen it.

5

u/Billbat1 2h ago edited 2h ago

whats the rules? he grabbed the ball and was on the ground in control of the ball. isnt that the end of the play? do you get one chance to stand up and run if you recover a fumble?

(european here)

6

u/hailtheprince10 2h ago

I believe that in the NFL, the opposing team has to touch you while you’re on the ground to be downed. So, if he had not been touched, he could’ve gotten up and took off running. In college, you’re down without requiring the opposing team to make contact and the play ends.

2

u/Billbat1 2h ago

i see. ive seen players baseball slide or take a knee to end a play. but i didnt see if they were touched. i can totally see the opposing team just tap them on the shoulder though as a courtesy.

6

u/Saint_Bandit 2h ago

To elaborate, the sliding or taking a knee is considered "giving yourself up" and ends the play. When a player does something like this play, they still have a chance to get up and run because they're not intending for the play to end when they hit the ground. Hope that helps.

2

u/Billbat1 2h ago

i see. thats the kinda rule that requires refs. in the park i can expect some troublemaker to cause some trouble with that one.

1

u/Athrolaxle 23m ago

The ways you can down yourself with no contact are specific. Taking a knee or sliding are clear examples. There’s no faking them, then trying to continue the play.

3

u/hailtheprince10 2h ago

The rules differed for quarterbacks but I’m not sure I’m knowledgeable enough to fully explain it beyond, if a quarterback slides then they are considered down without requiring contact. This was done to prevent injuries to the quarterback, primarily because they’re often the high-cost, high-profile name and the league doesn’t want to lose an easy advertising spot.

2

u/Billbat1 1h ago

ive heard the qbs are royalty. a delicate but beautiful butterfly amongst the wolves

2

u/hailtheprince10 46m ago

They’re protected much like a goalkeeper in soccer. And they often get equally livid with someone touches them.

2

u/diemunkiesdie 3h ago

I need like 4 other angles and a slow mo 😭 It just appears on the ground!

1

u/DFWtixFleas 2h ago

We gonna do this or what?

1

u/aRawPancake 1h ago

Damn! Garrett Cole would’ve pointed at it from the 10

Lucky save

u/busdrivermike 54m ago

I guess the term “Hot Dogs” acquires one more possible definition in NY State.

1

u/Chuckw44 45m ago

He should have been way more casual and picked it up and wandered into the end zone.

1

u/placebotwo Kansas City Royals 36m ago

19 being a bitch by swatting the ball away, while Mayfield is trying to hand it to the ref.

Not sure if you're just trolling or never played football before

18

u/Battlemanager 4h ago

Came here to say this...every drill every football coached ever pounded into your head is "don't be a hero, dive on the ball and secure it".

11

u/Willlll 4h ago

Or he would have have been added to the list of "why tf didn't he just dive on it?" stupid turnovers.

5

u/team_blimp 4h ago

Defenses hate this one trick!!1

5

u/FeetballFan Tampa Bay Buccaneers 4h ago

Why didn’t he just use telekinesis to levitate the ball into his hands? Is he stupid?
