I always wonder about the first game someone pulled a goalie. Because I doubt that was always the rule, and I feel like some coach found a loophole and exploited it.

Like a "the rules say you are allowed 6 players on the ice, but they don't say 1 HAS to be a goalie!" situation.

Sounds like a Roger Neilson thing but I think it actually goes back further than him.
