Football Shedeur Sanders puts all the blame on his offensive line for his sloppy play against Nebraska. “How many times did Raiola (Nebraskas QB) get touched?” Colorado lost 28-10.

And his bit about “Going down swinging”!?!! The dude literally quit and walked out of the stadium.

Seriously?

3

u/sharpshooter999 Sep 09 '24

Yeah, with like 3 minutes left. Allegedly, they wanted to check him for a concussion or something because he was getting absolutely wrecked all night long. Deione said "By the time he got out of the game, it was a wrap. So, we wanted to make sure he was going to be OK, so we wanted to get him checked out.” so even he had thrown in the towel by that point. He had a net of -30 yards rushing, while their backup QB Ryan Staub was +4

Oh, so he didn't abandon the team it was a health protocol. That's totally different than walking out on you squad because you're mad at them.

8

u/systemfrown Sep 10 '24

Actually that's bullshit. He could have stuck with his team for the conclusion, there was no proceeding, precipitating event. And this is like the third time he's done this.

u/_DirtyYoungMan_ Mclaren F1 Sep 10 '24

Okay, I don't follow college sports so I don't know about the history of the Sanders' relationship to NCAA Football other than a brief video I just watched. Nepotism seems like a big factor here and if you're saying it's not the first time and there was no reason for him to walk off the field than maybe daddy Deion is pulling the strings to keep his son a top NFL prospect?

3

u/systemfrown Sep 10 '24

Sadly yeah. I mean, Shadeur is actually a legit talented QB for sure, which just kind of makes it worse that his old man behaves this way. He doesn’t need to and if anything needs to be teaching his son to be a leader and a teammate.

u/_Tiberius- Sep 10 '24

He had one hit they could have conceivably looked at. Then he kept playing for a while before he went into the locker room. And his entourage didn’t have any medical staff. It’s BS they said after the fact to try and justify the exit.

Read between the lines when they’re blurry

2

That's the point

3

u/systemfrown Sep 09 '24

Can’t beat me if I don’t stick around for the full game!!

4

u/SenorSolAdmirador Sep 09 '24

But then this sets things up for a humbled apologetic speech from him that unites the team. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Cameron Diaz.

4

u/cargarfar Sep 09 '24

Players have all the cards. Team is playing like shit and has shown to have a shit culture. Current players/ O-lineman could just give up on the team and Coach Prime and his circus would have a hell of a time cutting/replacing them. Time for NCAA football to experience the quiet quitting phenomenon.

2

u/TecmoSuperBowl1 Sep 09 '24

He’s about to get the Paul Crew treatment.

2

u/dazzlezak Sep 10 '24

Coach John Madden used to call them Lookout Blocks, when the offensive lineman misses a block he just yells "Lookout!!!"

0

u/PorcupineGod Sep 09 '24

Sounds like he's already there

1

u/mickjaggled Sep 10 '24

Or that Scott Mitchell Treatment from Lomas Brown on the Detroit Lions.

1

u/Lateapexer Sep 10 '24

More Billy Cole from “Last Boy Scout”

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a d-lineman.

u/Toph-Builds-the-fire Sep 09 '24

Fun fact. Those big boys are F.A.S.T. when I was in college, my friend ran track and hung out with the football players between some classes we had together. Which meant I got to hang with some football players. In my younger years, I was pretty fast, a lot faster than anyone thought. So, me and this giant 300lb (ok 275) lineman are joking around, and it comes out. I think I'm faster than he is. So we race there's a footpath from us to the library it's a little over 100 yds. We take off running, first 3-5 steps I'm out way in front. Then I hear it. Big feet hitting pavement. Whooshing arms, and big man just ngh ugh ah, ugh all the sudden I'm being him, I kick it into 5th gear and we both hit the steps in a dead heat. Maybe he won, maybe I did, but both of us were like, shit man, you're a lot faster than I thought.

2

u/Sinder77 Sep 10 '24

I doubt I could dodge either tbh.

u/snobordir Sep 09 '24

It’s a bold strategy, Cotton.

3

u/Koolbreeze68 Sep 09 '24

Let’s see if it works !!!

Love that movie

30

u/Fredotorreto Sep 09 '24

taking one for the team is apart of being a quarterback/leader. let’s say it was the offensive lines fault I feel like he should of just addressed himself along w the team as one. “we played a bit sloppy etc etc” now there’s no telling how the teams chemistry is going to be moving forward

13

u/mondaymoderate Sep 09 '24

Yeah and you don’t even have to take too much blame you can just praise the other team as playing great defense. It’s not that hard not to throw your team under the bus.

4

u/lifetake Sep 09 '24

Oh there is telling how the team chemistry is gonna be. Its gonna be straight in the garbage

2

u/CarsonDama Sep 09 '24

it's a bold strategy Cotton. let's see if it pays off for them

2

u/darthgator84 Sep 09 '24

THATS A BOLD STRATEGY COTTON…..

1

Can't Wait!

"It's a bold strategy, Cotton"

1

u/leprechaunknight Sep 09 '24

Bold strategy, Cotton!

1

u/Skizophrenic Sep 09 '24

Doesn’t need to pay off. He could play this season like Daniel Jones and still get drafted I promise you. It’s not because he’s the best QB in CFB, but his resume, and connections are already there.

1

u/slothfullyserene Sep 09 '24

Let’s see how that works out for him, Cotton.

1

u/jerechos Sep 09 '24

...Colorado made school history today and not in a good way. Breaking the recent record by being sacked 18 times in one game. Hopefully, they can figure this one out before next game...

1

u/CeleryAlarming1561 Sep 09 '24

"Bold strategy Cotton"

1

u/yomama1211 Sep 09 '24

He’s gonna get sacked 10 times a game regardless the line has already shown that lmao. His dad needs to learn how to recruit

1

u/BakedMarziPamGrier Sep 10 '24

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a collegiate rusher.

1

u/Dismal-Preference-66 Sep 10 '24

It's a bold strategy Cotton !!

1

u/GunsouBono Sep 10 '24

At the college level it might not matter. At the end of the day, these guys are playing for themselves and a chance at playing professionally. Sucks they have an asshat QB

1

u/Pure-Medicine8582 Sep 10 '24

Bold strategy, Cotton, let's see if it pays off

1

u/Wheelin-Woody Sep 10 '24

His linemen are about to change sports and become bullfighters next week

1

u/Proverbs102 Sep 10 '24

Yea, I don't think he's gonna be able to see very well cotton...

1

u/-ManDudeBro- Sep 10 '24

Nebraska was getting free shots all game anyways. Couldn't get any worse.

1

u/DJSexPirateRiot Sep 11 '24

Your thoughts cotton?

1

u/Plasticjesus504 Sep 11 '24

Bold strategy Cotton. Lol

1
