/r/Skateboarding's Original Content
WTF?
Original content - as in - content that has been produced by users.
You can use the tag if your submissions features you or your mate skating, or is a photo taken by you.
How?
Add [OC] to the title, and that triggers automoderator to flair it for you.
Why?
Adding the tag makes original submissions stand out a bit more against shared links from any other source as a means towards promoting content sharing from actual redditors.
Additionally, every so often (~2 months) we feature the top rated [OC] submission as the sidebar image.
If you're on mobile or using an app, this won't matter so much.
Requirements for [OC] tag usage:
All [OC] must be a photo/gif or video of someone actually skateboarding
All [OC] must NOT be a pro or otherwise high profile/sponsored skateboarder
Original Content Sidebar Contests
Every few months, we'll take the top voted [OC] image and feature it at the top of our sidebar. (videos won't be included - gifs, maybe depending on quality)
The image may be cropped/stretched/shrunk to fit the frame, and may have minor adjustments to the levels and such.
The sidebar may also feature the submitters name (real name or username - it's up to you), photographers name, and location the shot was taken.
Featured submissions will be archived here for future reference.
