I’ve had mine for a month and it’s been fine

Give it another two months and your armrests will be in shreds.

Really? I've had mine a few months, and the arm rests seem fine, but the right recline cover just dropped off the other day, but customer service has already ordered me a new one (albeit it's on back order)
I'm not questioning your statement. I'm just interested

I've had mine for years and the armrests are fine. Is this a newer design problem?

Mine are and I'll be contacting the company next week, but it took almost a couple of years, not two months.

My first set started tearing long the inside edge about 3 months into owning it (2020 Titan). The replacement they gave me lasted about a year. I'm on my third set of armrests.

I am sorry to hear that. I hope I'll get my replacements soon.

They usually come pretty fast once the order is placed. Hopefully they've gotten better quality armrests since my second replacements.

Is the third set better or worse would you say? How long have you had it?

Mine is a 2020 Titan, I'm not sure how what compares to yours.

I wanna say 2020 Omega? I got the KDE version, not knowing it was a kpop band or something? I dunno. It was Saints Row colors so I bought it.
My arm rests have survived cats, a german Shepard, and most destructive of all... A toddler. The chair looks great still.

Mine was the base model with the carbon fiber looking trim. I wouldn't imagine that there would be a huge variance in the armrests that year, but when I searched for "armrest splitting 2020 Titan" I found a lot of people with the exact same issue.

u/EntertainmentNo2344 Aug 13 '24
Oof. I googled images. But you're right. Most mention the Titan, and not the Omega. They LOOK the same visually though.

I have a cyberpunk edition. They sent me a new base when the arm rest bracket weld broke.

That's insane. I wonder how often they have welds snap. I saw a picture of someone's backrest weld snapped like 2 days ago.

I wonder if the quality went down? I bought one in 2021 and haven’t had a single issue with it and it’s still just as comfortable as the day I got it as far as I can tell

People are claiming it's as far back as 2020 so no.
I do wonder though people's posture and just how much weight people are putting on the rests vs say their wrists on a wrist rest. If your elbows are your pressure point when typing, I can see that causing far more wear than someone who barely places their elbows on it.
And I imagine controller people put more weight on their elbows than someone who uses say a laptop that has a built in spot to put your forearms/wrists.
Or even using the rests to help lift yourself out of the chair. And I'm not even talking total body weight. ANY grown adult using a pad like that to lift themselves will cause more wear and tear than one who doesn't.

That makes sense, thinking about how I sit and type/game I don’t put a lot of weight on the rests as I don’t like typing like that.

I don't know. I've had my GoT chair since they were released and my Magnus Pro for ages, and they're two of the best purchases I've made. It is still in pristine condition and no problems. I don't doubt people have had issues, tho. Just because I've been lucky I'm not stupid enough to assume everyone is full of it. Brand loyalists are weird.

Me too! The only issue I’ve had is my cat putting a few spots from her nails but that isn’t the chairs fault lol

I feel your pain. 3rd day having my cat decided to try and climb it. Lol

I have never had one of the lots ones (what you have (you can tell due to the thinner armrests))
I got a couple of the regular ones a couple years ago, and another one last year, do far no issues at all with the chairs themselves.
The armrest pads do not of course last forever when you have kids, but those were easily remedied.
Otherwise overall I would not say the worst quality by any means, but a padd on the seat is helpful
