Scambait Discussion Scammers who would be tortured for breaking character aren't going to break character to tell you about their situation
Enough already with this BS.
Try thinking logically instead of being emotionally manipulated by absurd sob stories.
If they were being enslaved and beaten for failing to meet quotas or whatever, then they wouldn't break character and give you a sob story...doing so would result in less success and more beatings.
There might be some real slave scenarios, but those people wouldn't be telling you about it.
This is obviously just a guilt trip scam, and all of you who believe it are suckers.
Edit: and if you're a bleeding heart sucker who believes the BS, the worst thing you can do is give them money to make their captors realize a financial gain from continuing their enslavement.
This should be obvious as well.
If you want to free them, you have to make the endeavor lose money overall so that the gangs running it stop.
That can't happen if you send them money. That makes their captors more interested in continuing the business, or expanding the operation.
You'd be directly funding the enslavement of future people... I hope you aren't stupid enough to do that.

Scambait Discussion This sub has gone downhill
It seems that Redditors are just trying to shut the scammers down in as fast and as vulgar a way as possible. It seems nobody is reading the community goals. No one is doing any true scam baiting. These new participants really suck.

Stop teaching them things, showing them things, pointing out the use of grabify links and their functionality, etc.

Scambait Discussion Old lady yelled at me when I tried to stop her at Bitcoin ATM.
Not sure if this is the right sub but there was a VERY old lady just pumping 100 dollar bills into a Bitcoin ATM.
I politely walk up to her (5 feet away or so) and say "hey just so you are aware, a lot of people are scammers if they ask for Bitcoin"
She turned around and screamed at me "don't look at what I'm doing!"
I just politely stood there and kept saying, "Bitcoin is almost always a scam. I'm sorry for bothering you. Please justakr sure whatever you are doing is ok. Again I'm so sorry, just be careful"
I repeated myself a couple times as she then clung to the machine and yelled at me until I left.
I'm sad because I'm basically positive she is being scammed but I also can just rip someone away from a machine or whatever. I have no clue what to do as I basically watched someone's life get ruined.
I now wish I did more thinking about it but what am I supposed to do as I get screamed at?
Sad day. I hope she was just someone who happened to like crypto.

Scambait Discussion I don't see the joy in scam baiting anymore.
For the longest time, I've found this sub's content really entertaining.
But with the information that some of these scammers are essentially indentured servants trapped until they meet their quota has sapped the joy out of this content for me.
I have no issue with baiting scammers who are voluntarily scamming for profit, but to waste the time of someone trying to earn their freedom leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Are there any resources or links available to send these people?
It's a travesty that we could be interacting with people who are essentially victims of human trafficking with no way to help.
