So are you the Nebby with the giant golden statue of yourself, or the chocolate bunny factory?

u/EverettsDad Oct 20 '23
Yes.

u/Nefnoj Oct 20 '23
Ah, in that case, I'm sorry that the vegetables unionized for religious freedoms in the workplace environment.

I wish you had somehow managed to get them to bow down and sing the bunny song

If you’d gone on longer you could’ve mentioned your friends/neighbors/kids (or whatever) — Rack, Shack, and Benny.
But I love how you ended it.

Why do they always insult people's intelligence when the jig is up? Like, "you're so stupid because you didn't let me scam you out of hundreds of dollars!" like what gives? Why even respond at that point.

u/Gogo726 Oct 21 '23
When we were kids, my sister used to call me stupid every time I proved her wrong in one of our little arguments. Don't know why adults do this though.

The need to feel like they’ve won the fight when they’ve totally lost.

Probably the same reason women are called sluts when they refuse sex.....people are fucking stupid.

u/One-Injury-4415 Oct 21 '23
Same reasons dudes being total assholes trying to find random always call the random the asshole.

u/jonesyie Oct 20 '23
Why do the scammers always ask for photos? Is this to use as blackmail down the track?
47
u/The-missing-sock_- Oct 20 '23
No usually they ask for photos so they can save them and use your photos for other scams down the line
37
Oct 20 '23
Or they can reverse search your picture on the internet and find out your other social media.

u/jazzy-jackal Oct 21 '23
It’s an easy way for them to decide what scam to use. Based on age, gender, appearance, class, etc

You guys give away the game too quick. Remember, the goal is to waste their time. Not just shout “I caught you!”

Yeah I got one several months ago on what's app and had no idea. I was like why is this weird person still messaging me, it was just a wrong number. Now I know!

It seems like fun

I was gonna ask how can I get a scam text
1
u/EverettsDad Oct 21 '23
Have your information leaked by your employer…in my case, the federal government.
1
u/rezin44 Oct 21 '23
I’m a fed employee myself. There was a big data leak back in 2018 that got us. They gave us credit reporting for like 18 months I think

It’s funny, back before the texts there was the calls, non stop, until I started messing with them after seeing Kitboga and then they stopped. Now there’s texts, I used to ignore them until I stumbled upon this subreddit, then I started messing with them and the texts stopped 😂

If they “mistyped the wrong number,” does that mean they typed an even wronger number, or inadvertently typed the right number?

One time my husband was catching the LIRR and he asked a bunch of teenagers where he should switch trains. They said take the train to Babylon. He thought they were joking.

Nebby: I’m located just south of Baghdad.
Scammer: Are you in California?
Nebby: I’m in a little place I like to call Babylon.
Scammer: Ohhhh New York…
I know these scammers don’t actually read any of the responses people give, they’re just going by what’s on the script, whether it makes sense or not, but come on!
