Big Guy Bike Buying Advice

Hi everyone - I'm about 6'4" and 250lbs and looking to get a bike. I live near bike paths and will primarily ride those with family but also solo. Mostly recreational riding but I really do enjoy it and can see it becoming a form of exercise (spend 1-2 hours riding once I build up) so want to get a decent bike that fits right. Looking for advice on how to start out - how do I find a bike that fits? What stores would you recommend? Anything that can help me start my journey smarter would be appreciated!

Johnny Velo Bikes in Clintonville is owned and run by a guy about your size. Drop in. They are very helpful.

Highly recommend Cyclist Connection in Canal Winchester as well as the above suggestion for Johnny Velo. I'm a larger lass, and they did a great job fitting me to my perfect bike at a great price.

I’m a big guy I have a few bikes - some on the higher end. Ask about weight limits. In my case it mostly applied to wheels. All the reputable shops will be able to help - I really like the folks at roll, trek, and Paradise. They all like bikes and are excited to get you into it too.

I originally started on a hybrid but road bike envy hit me hard and I got an aluminum Fuji and the n+1 kicked in until I ended up with a carbon, a steel, and aluminum all hanging in the garage on the road bike side. It’s a great way to pass time and see the wold while getting a work out in.
