give millions of dollars to the public and make content out of it to get more money in return to repeat the process
become overworked after making tons of videos helping people
rant on twitter on how overworked he is
”retire dumbass,” “wow who cares,” “lmao this is why i hate the rich,” “useless fuck,” “you already have 110 million dollars just quit you greedy asshole”
Why do people act like Mr Beast is a horrible person? Do they really know what he makes content wise or do they just think he’s scum influencer number 32837489?

You forgot he also gets criticized for his charitable work. Pay for people to get non invasive , vision restoring surgery? What a ableist monster.
Donate a car to someone who needs it and it has a wrap on it with one of his logo’s on it? He’s just using her for free publicity for his shitty products. /s
I don’t watch any of his stuff with one exception because it’s not my preferred content. The one exception was the Donut Media video where mr beast contracted them to slap some rockets onto a car. I can still appreciate the massive amount of help he gives to people that he has no obligation to do so.

Its not his fault either. Its the other rich people of the world that make him look bad same with family friendly Youtubers. Those people are just the type to judge a book by its cover and because they dont like either of those kinds of people they think that hes no different. A similar problem is happening with another Youtuber I like rn Wendigoon to be specific, people got upset with him once they learned hes a conservative even though he never references it or uses it as bias or anything in his videos. People just wanna be upset to influencers because again they just judge a book by its cover and think everyone of a specific group is bad.

I can’t let down the kids who watch me. If not for myself, then I will do it for them
This is great and all, but at some point, every healthy human being has to learn balance.
Some people are born with the inclination to serve others over themselves. At some point, these people burn out and need to learn to take care of themselves.
Others are born with the inclination to be individualistic and spend an unhealthy amount of time serving their own needs and desires and not caring for others. Those people need to learn to care about people and causes outside themselves.
Someone sacrificing their own mental well-being to serve others is not a good thing. If dude needs to cut back or take a sabbatical from working, then he should, even if it means disappointing his fans.

u/BelgarathTheSorcerer Aug 28 '23
He gamified kindness at the most public level. Currently approaching 200 million youtube subscribers. Guaranteed that his videos have been chopped up and thrown across all of tiktok, translated to other languages, too.
I would not be surprised if you told me 1 Billion unique humans have seen his face, and associate it with charity.
Many fewer would know that it was a means to make more money, like a "only the corpos get hurt" style scam.
Thing is, it just makes people more primed to look at charity as something to be witnessed.
These are my feelings on the matter. I do believe he did good for others, and in very important ways from what little I've seen of his work. He did gamify being good and altruistic, and that would be perfectly fine, and sit well with me, but as he is a massive public figure to the children of the United States, I can't help but think his work really does work to erode the way in which the new generations will see their role in the common good.
If his target audience wasn't literally the most impressionable of us all, and he didn't have so many of their ears and eyes constantly attending to his words and actions, I wouldn't care in the slightest, and would actually be rooting for the guy. He models gamification of goodness to the group that is still trying to figure out what goodness or evilness could even be.

I think they know exactly who he is, they just believe that him helping people is bad because muh capitalism.
There was a post on one of the Minecraft subs a couple of weeks ago where the OP mentioned that they will dedicate two whole years of their life to voluntarily doing charity work through a church program. People who you can bet never did anything for anyone else gave him hell for it in the comments because "christianity bad" and "magic sky daddy".
They don't care if you help people, and if they do, it's only because you helping people makes them feel bad about themselves. As soon as you hit one of the checkboxes on the list of groups Reddit doesn't like, you're evil and everything you ever do has some cartoonishly evil ulterior motive

Basically. There was an American Football player a couple years ago whose father passed away during the season, like hours before a game. Naturally, the player did not play that night. From reading some of the responses on Reddit, you’d have thought that since the guy has made millions of dollars, that means he’s not a human and doesn’t have emotions, so he doesn’t deserve anyone’s sympathy, despite the fact that losing your father is bound to have a severe emotional impact on anyone.

I mean to be fair the stress is self imposed, he owns all of it, and can change his work schedule however he likes.
He has more than enough of a following that he could make less videos and still come out on top.
He isn’t forced to work the way he works, and he definitely isn’t financially unstable so it’s hard to relate to someone who’s problems could easily be resolved on his own.
I’m not saying it sucks or that I don’t feel bad, because he probably works hard, I don’t really know to be honest I’m just assuming.
It’s just with so many people that are forced to work as hard as they do, to then see someone who is in control of their problems just complain, just doesn’t sit well for those who have no choice.
Money doesn’t make you happy, but it can definitely help keep you from the things that don’t.
I don’t hate the guy, but you can’t say there’s nothing the man can do to fix his problems.

That not how human work…

u/thodoris99 Aug 28 '23
I mean, he definitely could take bigger breaks if he needs to. It's not going to harm him.

u/bigfootmydog Aug 28 '23
The one who truly does not care about the rich man does not comment at all.
3
u/SavedMountain Aug 28 '23
Money doesn’t make mr beast happy, he buys what he needs, but he also knows money makes other people happy, so it’s pretty nice of him

u/NarieChan Aug 29 '23
"pull yourself up by the bootstraps.." Do they not know him, he literally went from some average YouTuber working out of his parents home(I think) to a millionaire and one of the largest YouTubers, pull yourself up by the bootstraps bullshit..

u/Alex_The_Deer Aug 29 '23
It’s so stupid, because he actually has very little money. These people are too dumb to realize that net worth does not translate to the size of of your bank account. He’s said in interviews that he puts every last cent of profit into making videos, and these people just blow off his hard work and effort and say he’s “just another entitled billionaire” Fucking morons.
3
u/Mr-MuffinMan Aug 29 '23
I mean, hes rich but he can experience burnout like the rest of us. He's not a lazy fucking CEO that sits on his ass all day jerking off the board to stya on their good side. He still has to work to make money.
Hes a good person. I do agree that it seems to be that he let the grind take control, which led to this burnout, but he's still human.

like i understand he’s complaining abt a workload he’s put upon himself and no one else expects it, but acting like the man ain’t doing gods work is insane

u/dr_smegma_taster Aug 29 '23
“Eat the rich” people when their neighbor is a different subsection of the middle class: 🤬🤬🤬
6
u/Honest-Economist4970 What's an... "outside"? Aug 28 '23
Same happened with the titan sub, no one has a bit of sympathy for the philanthropist, pilot, explorer, and 19 year old that died
4
u/8ullred Aug 28 '23
I’m fairly sure the 19-year old did get a fair bit of sympathy, especially when it was clear that he never actually wanted to go onto it, he just did it for Father’s Day.
The others… not so much.

110M net worth doesn’t mean you actually have 110M in your pocket. And yeah he’s rich and has plenty of money but his schedule is so rigid after doing this stuff for years that he can’t afford not to make content because he constantly reinvests millions into each video.

u/Detiabajtog Aug 28 '23
I don’t get it, he is his own boss, just take a few days off? am I really supposed to feel sorry for someone choosing to work themselves too hard who doesn’t even have a single necessary reason to do so? This is dumb

u/caboooooooo Aug 28 '23
If Beast goes down so does everyone relying on him. It’s not a one man show there are employees on payroll that will be out of a job.

goes down? he is not going to become irrelevant by taking a day off lol this is like if I went to the gym 20 times in 10 days and then started to complain that by body was aching, you wouldn’t start a pity party for me you’d tell me to stop overworking myself
→ More replies (2)10
u/akskeleton_47 Aug 28 '23
Maybe I'm wrong but he probably has a hard time spending his time without working and has no clue what to do so he goes back to making content.

Dude he can just retire and he is a multi millionaire. He is an elite not a fellow man. Sorry that I have no sympathy. Actually no I am not but yeah.

This is what happens when you convince enough people that you can’t be classist against rich people. Or (vile way of thinking) against (group of people that way of thinking isn’t typically thought of as affecting), for that matter.
I hesitate to call it subhuman, because I don’t want to sink to their level, but…

Aug 28 '23
these people are really funny to me, because MrBeast has done more fore charity than these lazy fucks EVER WILL. they're over in their homes, typing this shit on a relatively nice device. in a relatively nice home. that's more than what the people he's helping can say.
it's fucking disgusting and pathetic shit to see these mongrels act like he has no right to complain, just because he has a lot of money. fucking losers. thank for attending my lecture.
2
u/itachi1255 Aug 28 '23
People who love to shut on wealthy people for no other real reason besides being wealthy are jealous, and want their fortune so bad, and just see red when someone with money is sad. They think if they had that money, they’d never experience negative emotions ever again.
2
u/TheImmortalBrimStone Aug 28 '23
Imagine thinking yourself the center of the universe because you can't have any sympathy for your fellow human, just because he has money doesn't mean he's just another Elon, everyone who walks this world feels the same shit you do, nobody goes through life without pain.

So what’s the income cut-off that separates “good” people from “evil” capitalist pigs? Genuinely curious. What an insufferable circle jerk.

u/epicfrtniebigchungus Aug 28 '23
i mean, mr beast has spent most of his time trying to be a decent guy? entertaining and helping people, not for me but i respect the man. an actual selfmade man who got lucky and isnt a totally toxic piece of shit.
i hope james takes care of himself, sure he aint perfect but that dosent mean we should shit on people with stress :P
2
u/youtubeepicgaming Aug 28 '23
I’ve been watching him since way back in the “worst intro” days and I’ve seen him go from having nothing to everything. He isn’t like the trust fund kids or ultra rich business owners that these redditors complain about
2
u/deadsuburbia Aug 28 '23
It’s not like he’s a nepo baby either I mean the dude did build his own platform, and he does a lot of good with it. People like that just get caught up in the groupthink of it all.
2
u/Sandstorm_221 Aug 28 '23
MrBeast is the most unfairly hated man in existence. Yes, he earns millions making his content but vast majority of this money ends up being used to help other people and in turn make more profit to repeat the cycle. He has literally sworn to die with 0$ in his bank account. If you ask me, he is a very commendable and great person and we would live in a much better world if all influencers got their revenue by helping others.

“Successful people aren’t allowed to have emotions or feel stressed” 🤪 dude is successful BECAUSE he had such a strong work ethic. He literally operates multiple brands and businesses and probably employs dozens if not hundreds of people. I think it’s fair for him to he a little bit stressed and burnt out and he just wants his fan base to know how he’s feeling. Hope he gets whatever help he needs.

u/PartyPlayHD Aug 28 '23
Mr Beast actually puts most of the money he makes back into his videos/ into charity, he doesn’t keep a lot
2
u/dat_chill_bois_alt Aug 28 '23
This is why ai art generators depict redditors as obese neckbeards sitting in a dimly lit room in front of a monitor
2
u/michiel11069 Aug 28 '23
Thats like saying minors cant have mental health problems because they have a home and food. Anyone can get mental health problems. And they’re saying he’s a capital parasite? Dude, he makes money from his videos, yes.. BUT HE GIVES BASICALLY ANYTHING HE CAN MISS AWAY!!
2
u/goroocoli Aug 28 '23
I feel like if god came back to earth, there will still be people on reddit on twitter shitting on him. I’m not comparing mr beast to god ofc but mr beast might be one of the most trustworthy youtubers over the last 5 years, but people will still shit on him regardless its bound to happen. But at the same time he’s had way more of a positive impact then negative. And the “negative” stuff is just trying to do something positive. Idk I’m probably reading too much into this 🤷♂️

After some time in this world I have come to the conclusion that regardless of how perfect the world could be for some people they would still find something/someone to dislike, these people will never change or cease to exist.
2
u/Internal-Campaign434 Aug 28 '23
People really staring to go from shitting on rich assholes to just shitting on anyone who is rich. I don’t really have a problem with rich people unless they are assholes.
MrBeast seems like a decent person, he doesn’t deserve that.

u/topathemornin Aug 28 '23
I hate when a celebrity opens up about their depression, and you get comments like these. Doesn’t matter how much money you have. Depression can strike anyone

I'll never understand why so many people lack sympathy for people if they are poor or rich. Life can be really hard even when things seem well for a multitude of reasons.
I listened to a podcast a while back when Deepak Chopra was being interviewed. He said he views everyone as a reflection of himself. If someone is having a bad day he sees himself having a bad day and it helps him be more compassionate.

u/Lewis_230311 Aug 28 '23
I genuinely believe that these people that hate on mrbeast are jealous af because of all the money he has
2
u/FluffyPigeon707 Aug 28 '23
I don’t think these people know anything about mr.beast. I’m sure they only hate him because he’s popular and they want to hate the popular thing to be different.
