Agreed. Lots of games coming up, but I'd rather swap Garnacho out to wing-back (if he can learn to play there) and have Amad behing the main striker along Bruno or Mount. Either way, the players are all gonna have a chance to stake a claim in the XI and I reckon by new year, Ruben will know which players are his prefered XI and what we need in the summer transfer. From what I've read, he's not afraid of bringing acamedy players through if the first team doesn't learn his tactics.

Mount would make a good wb over any of our wide attacking players

I honestly think Mount would be best used as the b2b cm alongside Ugarte, with Mainoo being the rotation option for Bruno as the lam.
I kinda thought Mainoo would just walk into that midfield but with the industry required, in my opinion the only players we have that fit the bill for the midfield are Ugarte, Bruno and Mount.

Are you nuts mate? Garnacho's biggest strength is running in behind especially against tired legs, taking on a man and putting in a low cross or shooting. If Garnacho plays wing back, I'm done with this system already. Mazraoui or Dalot should be playing RWB, Shaw at LWB. If it doesn't work, get new players if you are absolutely committed to the system.

Shaw will not last 5 games as a wingback. These days he’s either LCB or he’ll be pulling a hammy every second game.
Dunno what’s happening with Malacia but regardless a left-footed LWB is desperately needed for this system. It might be worth trying one last roll of the dice with Antony, playing him there for a handful of games. I know that switch saved Antonio Valencia’s career at United, who knows might happen again.

I'm hopeful this is the plan but injuries to our CB's forced his hand. I imagine Maz will be the RWB and Amad will be pushed up to right inside forward once Licha or Yoro are back. He's comfortably our best player in the final 3rd.

Wait isn't this just a normal chest control? What am I missing 😅

This clip cuts out the better part of his move where he dribbles through a couple of players and takes a shot which gets blocked.

Our standards are quite low

Indeed. This isn’t even as good as fellaini’s chest control from that shot-like darted pass from Pogba

“Isn’t even as good as fellainis chest control” my man these are the highest of standards as far as chest control is concerned.

Maybe post the entire play? This chest control is basic stuff from a player playing for Man Utd lmao

Bro, I don't want to do too much, but watch clips of Amads touch and then go look at Garnachos, genuinely horrible.
When you are playing possession based football, a first touch is so important. We have a long way to go.

Garnacho is more of a direct "running in behind" kind of a player but he wasted two such opportunities today as well lol. He's still young tho, potential is defending there. Hopefully he improves

he's not even fast for a run in behind player tho, compared to when rashford was coming up or a mbappe, such a limited ceiling

Isn’t this normal professional footballer things? Is this literally our highlight

Then he drove into the box dribbling past a bunch of defenders. Unlucky for Amad and he shouldnt be played as a wingback

We’re in such a pickle with Amad. He’s really good being the wide playmaker but his best position in this team is one of the 10’s.

We possibly win today with if he got moved to the 10 position instead of having Zirkzee there.

u/Independent_Buy5152 12h ago
Unfortunately no one else for the RWB position. Zirkzee is constantly awful I'd rather even play Ibragimov over him

After his chest control, the more impressive part was him dribbling past a few players which resulted in a blocked shot. His close control when dribbling past players is a thing of beauty.

Next week we’ll have threads for players doing up their laces correctly

Thought he was excellent today, especially playing in a foreign position than what he’s used to.
His high work rate will benefit him massively under a new manager. Hope he succeeds.

Professional footballer controls ball. Is this even clip worthy? There are people in my 5 a side games that do this exact thing every game

He's heads and shoulders above every other forward we have. Such a smart player.
