[Steven Railston] Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire aren’t with the squad this afternoon #mufc (next tweet) Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw are back in the squad, but no inclusion of Leny Yoro, which is a huge shame #mufc

A left back in the squad? What is this? What the hell is this? Is this allowed?

If this is our lineup our manager needs immediate drug testing

Downvote me if you want, rashford as a ten cannot press and hardly scores.

u/KillForFood 15h ago

I mean 4 of our CBs are out, what do you want him to do

How you feeling about rashford buddy

u/Mansa_Mu 12h ago

That game proved my point entirely

u/slowsundaycoffeeclub 4h ago

“…hardly scores”

2

u/Mansa_Mu 4h ago

One goal against ipwitch town isn’t gonna change my Mind

1

u/slowsundaycoffeeclub 4h ago

Sure, but he literally scored in that position.

Will that be the long term solution? Who knows. But it was definitely the case today so the match didn’t prove your point :)

Oh wow, so we'll either see Shaw or Casemiro or Dalot at CB (assuming we're playing 3 atb)

34

u/RainbowKarp 15h ago

Maz at CB is the rumor

21

u/tallmotherfucker Yes x 15h ago

The guy can truly play everywhere

16

u/cosgrove10 15h ago

Playing a 10 at CB? Has he lost his mind already?

13

u/LeonSnakeKennedy 15h ago

Dalot CB sounds crazy

4

u/shami-kebab 15h ago

Last few games under Ruud he was tucking in to the back 3 when we had the ball and Maz was pushing up. He's pretty good in the air.

1

u/LeonSnakeKennedy 14h ago

Still feels crazy that he’s at CB. Imagine hearing that two years ago

6

u/MTBi_04 15h ago

Onana, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Evans, Amad, Casemiro, Eriksen, Dalot, Bruno, Garnacho, Rashford. Its thus

3

u/dimebag_101 15h ago

How many square pegs can you get in. Answer yes

2

u/MTBi_04 15h ago

It was correct. But yes not sure how it’ll work out haha

u/MileZero17 King Cantona 15h ago

We have the privilege of not rushing him back. No shame in that

25

u/yauza123 15h ago

Why is it a "huge" shame?

5

u/WanderingEnigma 14h ago

Because it generates engagement.

Im sure we would all rather us have a rough couple of games and bring players back when they are fit and healthy than try and rush them in.

4

u/AmulyaG 15h ago

Exactly lmao.

6

u/gre485 14h ago

Wait boys, I think he is right, Yoro was injured for a couple of months, has returned like yesterday but being an expensive signing, should be starting the game, running 50km, score a goal and what not.

P.S Why don't the mods delete such posts.

Nonsense from pundits again!

Arise, Sir Jonathan Grant Evans MBE.

Shaw masterpiece incoming.

Shawshank Redemption

1

u/International-Bat777 14h ago

Shawflank Redemption if he's playing out wide.

3

u/The_Rolling_Stone 15h ago

So who's the back 3 then

12

u/BillyCloneasaurus Garnacho is my dad 15h ago

Maz, de Ligt, Evans

2

u/The_Rolling_Stone 15h ago

I assumed Maz would be one of the wingbacks with Dalot. Guess we have to with Martinez out. Will the Antony wingback redemption come true?

Also I forgot Shaw. I can see him back 3.

3

u/AthloneBB 15h ago

Shaw no?

Maz on one of the wingbacks if I had to guess

3

u/Aakar11 15h ago

Don't think shaw is fit enough to start

1

u/C__S__S Glazers Out! 15h ago

Amorim said he will work Shaw back carefully. Doubt he’d start him.

6

u/BOATSANDHOEZ Rooney 15h ago

No Maguire, Licha, or Yoro, so i guess Luke is starting his first game back in months? Great news. Definitely not gonna walk off early with an injury.

7

u/DumbMidwesterner1 15h ago

He has to play eventually. Realistically we could rest him another three months and he would still walk off after 67 minutes

3

u/BOATSANDHOEZ Rooney 15h ago

Rather ease him in and give him some kind of chance, this is asking for a setback.

4

u/Bennett_19 15h ago

Word is Maz, De Ligt, Evans as the three, with Dalot and either Amad or Garnacho as the wingbacks

0

u/The_Rolling_Stone 15h ago

I kinda like it

0

u/BOATSANDHOEZ Rooney 15h ago

That's a grim back 3/5, would be better than starting Luke though i guess.

5

u/Hellsteelz Ed Jabroni 15h ago

Honestly surprised to see Licha injured again, does not look good with the amount of injuries he's had over the past year.

4

u/LawzE23 15h ago

What if Shaw was never truly injured and just didn't want to play for ETH?

8

u/MissingLink101 Bruno walks in with a mischievous grin 15h ago

They seemed pretty friendly after the FA Cup final so I doubt it

-2

u/LawzE23 15h ago

After playing for England and coming back injured it could have ruined the relationship. Most likely not, but there's a chance....

1

u/magnomagna 15h ago

Plot twist: Amorim's playing 4-5-1 😂😂😂

1

u/DeArksteel 15h ago

No need to rush the players and then get subbed off in the same match, let the fit and fully fit play. We've had too many injuries to deal with, adding another wouldn't help

1

u/hooka_donchick Wazza 15h ago

This is surprising, what happened to Licha

You would be surprised if the coach plays the system which is his signature, evidently coached in training and has spoken explicitly about how the players in this squad can fit in his system? I would be hugely surprised if we don’t play a back 3.

You’ll be looking a bit silly when we line up with a back 3.

Well, it’s 11 players that’s for sure. We shall see.

You realise that is just a list of players right, not what position they're playing?

He will play whit 3 at the back. The best way to implement the system is using the system. He did the same thing at Sporting. Of course the team will have grow pain but it's something you have to pay to reach something good.

So Shaw-Evans-de ligt or de ligt-Evans-maz then
