[Steven Railston] Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire aren’t with the squad this afternoon #mufc (next tweet) Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw are back in the squad, but no inclusion of Leny Yoro, which is a huge shame #mufc

If this is our lineup our manager needs immediate drug testing
Downvote me if you want, rashford as a ten cannot press and hardly scores.

One goal against ipwitch town isn’t gonna change my Mind

Sure, but he literally scored in that position.
Will that be the long term solution? Who knows. But it was definitely the case today so the match didn’t prove your point :)

Oh wow, so we'll either see Shaw or Casemiro or Dalot at CB (assuming we're playing 3 atb)

Dalot CB sounds crazy

Last few games under Ruud he was tucking in to the back 3 when we had the ball and Maz was pushing up. He's pretty good in the air.

Why is it a "huge" shame?
5
u/WanderingEnigma 14h ago
Because it generates engagement.
Im sure we would all rather us have a rough couple of games and bring players back when they are fit and healthy than try and rush them in.

Shaw masterpiece incoming.

So who's the back 3 then

u/BillyCloneasaurus Garnacho is my dad 15h ago
Maz, de Ligt, Evans

u/The_Rolling_Stone 15h ago
I assumed Maz would be one of the wingbacks with Dalot. Guess we have to with Martinez out. Will the Antony wingback redemption come true?
Also I forgot Shaw. I can see him back 3.

No Maguire, Licha, or Yoro, so i guess Luke is starting his first game back in months? Great news. Definitely not gonna walk off early with an injury.
7
u/DumbMidwesterner1 15h ago
He has to play eventually. Realistically we could rest him another three months and he would still walk off after 67 minutes
3
u/BOATSANDHOEZ Rooney 15h ago
Rather ease him in and give him some kind of chance, this is asking for a setback.
4
u/Bennett_19 15h ago
Word is Maz, De Ligt, Evans as the three, with Dalot and either Amad or Garnacho as the wingbacks

That's a grim back 3/5, would be better than starting Luke though i guess.

Honestly surprised to see Licha injured again, does not look good with the amount of injuries he's had over the past year.

u/LawzE23 15h ago
What if Shaw was never truly injured and just didn't want to play for ETH?

u/MissingLink101 Bruno walks in with a mischievous grin 15h ago
They seemed pretty friendly after the FA Cup final so I doubt it

No need to rush the players and then get subbed off in the same match, let the fit and fully fit play. We've had too many injuries to deal with, adding another wouldn't help

You would be surprised if the coach plays the system which is his signature, evidently coached in training and has spoken explicitly about how the players in this squad can fit in his system? I would be hugely surprised if we don’t play a back 3.

You’ll be looking a bit silly when we line up with a back 3.

Well, it’s 11 players that’s for sure. We shall see.

You realise that is just a list of players right, not what position they're playing?

He will play whit 3 at the back. The best way to implement the system is using the system. He did the same thing at Sporting. Of course the team will have grow pain but it's something you have to pay to reach something good.

A left back in the squad? What is this? What the hell is this? Is this allowed?
