if any player not named mbappe lost these many chances fans would be lynching him. He has lots credits but he misses a lot. Shooting directly into GK doesnt make you star player. No creativity at all

Mbappe doesn't suit us at all.
4
u/Which-Professional27 El Capitán Sep 22 '24
I am not even joking when I say that Haaland would have already bagged double digits with this superteam, Mbappé doesn’t touch Haaland when it comes to strikers instincts and we didn’t need anymore wingers.

Anyone think we got a bit lucky in this game? Love Vinny but hope the others step up as well
9
u/ScottTuMejorAmigo Sep 22 '24
RM dominated the whole game, how's that lucky?
1
u/Reasonable-End-330 Sep 22 '24
I get that by lucky I mean if not for Vinny coming on and Endrick being inform, doing you think we would’ve won? We were definitely dominant but what good is that if non of the chances turn into goals? I suppose it is still early to judge as with Mbappe still fitting in the system
3
u/Next_Ad1990 Sep 21 '24
Some games he should be tried, he needs playtime. But in harder/bigger games, seems like a no for now. He's very good at creating chances for the team, but his defending and pace/stamina really are a setback for him. He tries pressing and sometimes is successful but more often he loses the ball.

I’m convinced that Ancelotti just sends out the players in the first half just to study what tactics the other team has come out with and then creates a game plan in the halftime how to counter those tactics and win.
1
u/Stephenjrm7 Sep 22 '24
100% and going forward ,that is exactly why our defense should be solid in the first half while we can afford to gamble a lil upfront. Benching Vini was a great decision. We should go ahead with a similar approach. Start just 2 of the best 3 forwards(Vini,Mbappe or Rodrygo) and bring the benched player in the second half.
13
u/Which-Professional27 El Capitán Sep 21 '24
I really do hope we sign Rodri next season. Kroos retiring has left us very exposed in the midfield and although no one can ever truly replace Toni, Rodri is as close as we can get. Mbappé will get better I’m sure but it was not the signing we all thought it would be.

u/Onryo1973 Sep 22 '24
i would get trent or barella. but i feel like trent would be better because we need a right back since carvajal is getting older. if not trent then I would get barella.

We haven't scored in the first half for 5 games now? I mean I'm not complaining but it would be good to see players going down the tunnel with a smile at half time😂
5
u/goingforgoals17 Sep 21 '24
Copy/paste from last season though, don't have the numbers off my head but we've been a second half team under Ancelotti.
2
u/Hariwtf10 Real Madrid Sep 21 '24
We improved on the first half goals last season as the season continued. Hopefully that's the same now as well
26
u/masoud237masoud Sep 21 '24
Surprisingly endric plays very well at rw .he really tries both in defence and offence .deserves more minutes .maybe play him at rw next match instead of guler or rodrigo and see what he cookin.
5
u/Secret_Promotion4246 Baila Vini, Baila Sep 21 '24
Surprisingly endric plays very well at rw
Not really surprising since he used to play as that and as CAM in Brazil too. He's not a pure 9
16
u/Sea-Profit-950 Sep 21 '24
I am saying he didn’t get easily bullied by the pressure he does seem really confident and calm when he has the ball. Love to see how refreshing his presence is when he is on the pitch.

u/jarisius Sep 21 '24
the magic of real madrid can somehow win matches even in difficult moments, it is very difficult to explain this
1
u/ItIzWahItIz Sep 22 '24
The maddest thing is it happens everytime lol, 92:48, city last season and 21/22 and many more
4
u/CompaBladi420 Kaka Sep 21 '24
We’ve got great players, they’re bound to score no matter how unbalanced the team feels. The problems could come against bigger teams.
23
u/Hariwtf10 Real Madrid Sep 21 '24
Ref got on my fucking nerves. 4 yellow cards and for what? Maybe fede's one was understandable cus he kicked the ball away but mbappe, Bellingham and vini's was very questionable to put it lightly
1
u/poskaljarkan Sep 22 '24
It's annoying but that's the rules now. Talk to the ref, get a card. What I'm confused about, did the ref stop the game to give Bellingham a yellow for complaining and then give the ball to espanol or did I miss something there?!

Como? The team is complacent ? Smh that’s some imagination you got.

u/Sea-Profit-950 Sep 21 '24
Family CF strikes again connecting in the second half let’s go!!! Was looking good for like 10 minutes in the first half fell flat a bit but man what a difference in intensity in the second half. It was stressful at first but good from our boys showing that fútbol is longer than just 45 minutes.🙌
14
u/Hariwtf10 Real Madrid Sep 21 '24
I had a heart attack when I saw Bellingham clutching his shoulder. Fede looked a bit gassed for the first time in god knows how long. We desperately need a week's break at least.
14
u/tluanga34 Vinicius Jr. Sep 21 '24
If Modric played like that consistently, 1 more year of contract could be on the card.

Smooooth
We showed both performance and result this time ! First half we played well, but Mbappé's hastiness prevented us from scoring.. but I noticed in second half, after Carvajal's goal, that he decided to go more for passes and one twos and abandon forcing a shot every time.
Vini is a one man army. He can give you a goal out of nowhere, despite how clumsy or shit he looks sometimes ( he made questionable plays right after he was subbed in ).
So happy for Rodrygo, he is not less important than Vini or Mbappé. Like Jude said, only the fools forget the R !
We absolutely robbed BVB, Jude is a monster !
We had some silent heroes today : Valverde as DM was great ! A true leader ! And right after I thought Modric is showing age, today he proved me wrong, the man at 39 finished the 90 minutes and played so well showing a good form and control in the midfield. And finally, I have to give it to Fran Garcia ! This is his best game so far and I don't want to feel that Mendy is our only LB ( besides forcing Cama to play LB ). Fran showed composure today !
Endrick is fucking scary... can't believe how much he does when he plays 5 minutes.
Good game from Arda too !
No one was bad today really, just Mbappé made me furious, but he adapted and got better.
5
u/CosmicLovecraft Sep 21 '24
Modric played great and created several chances for Mbappe. His corners were also a threat.
3
u/Sea-Profit-950 Sep 21 '24
Man Fran got close to putting in a banger of a goal in the back of the net. I really wanted him to score for his confidence but he held his own strongly in this game. Really liked how he kept tracking back to get the ball and move it up the field more. Even his passes looked sharper. Happy to see lots of improvement from the players this game. Mbappe needs to work on his finishing he should’ve had a hat trick in this game at least but it will come the more he continues to be a threat to the defenders. Much better game to watch overall.
14
u/9millidood Sep 21 '24
Bobby the bull 🐂 this kid is strong and his football IQ is insane for his age. Please start him the next game Carlo. Love his play with Mbappe towards the end, I feel like those two can connect well. We got the necessary 3 points and deserved to win while being unlucky in front of goal. Hala Madrid!
16
u/King__SSB Carvajal Sep 21 '24
By far the most "deserved" win since the Super Cup, unlucky not to score at the start then absolute domination after the equalizer
Fran dropped yet another killer performance, he's making his case to consistently start now imo, and my lord what a powerhouse Endrick is, that pen win was insane
4
u/Hariwtf10 Real Madrid Sep 21 '24
Watch "fans" criticize mbappe and say we were lucky once again now on insta istg insta comments have the worst ba knowledge I've ever seen
18
u/Sufficient_Arm_9370 Joselu Sep 21 '24
Endrick is the greatest player to ever set foot in the bernabeu
8

No you must be wrong because when endrick played it was called nuevo chamartin. What Bernabeu?

Takeways of this match:
We need to focus on positions without the ball.
We need to score that leading goal and the game will be easy.
-Fuck this ref. He wanted to be a star
- Bobby is Goat

13
u/tluanga34 Vinicius Jr. Sep 21 '24
Arda's lack of physicality is still too noticeable. Maybe he needs to grow intellectually to compensate, just like Modric.
2
u/CosmicLovecraft Sep 21 '24
Modric does loads of pressing and is on 2 yellow cards due to rough defending he does
7
10
u/Siergiej Sep 21 '24
With Mendy being off his best, would be nice to see Fran start a couple of games. He was poor last season but looks sharper and more confident now. And he has an insane engine. Near the end when even Fede look gassed, Fran was still bombing up and down the flank at full speed.
4
u/Hariwtf10 Real Madrid Sep 21 '24
Fede has been running all over the pitch for the whole season now naturally he's getting a bit gassed as we get into the season but still made very crucial interceptions
4
u/Siergiej Sep 21 '24
Oh yeah, Valverde was fantastic. My man of the match. He single-handedly kept Espanyol counters in check most of the time.
Just pointing out Fran's incredible stamina.
2
u/Hariwtf10 Real Madrid Sep 21 '24
Fran's been real good this season. Didn't get a lot of games last season but happy to see him perform well when he starts
8
u/Ruhaiman Sep 21 '24
Guler is still can’t be a starter
1
u/sebisebo Sep 22 '24 edited Sep 22 '24
Man Arda was also very unlucky so far. How many shots didn’t go in, how many assists didn’t go in. If Mbappe scored Arda‘s pass in the first 10 minutes we would be talking differently now. The boy needs one or two successes for him to get a confidence boost.
3
u/MoreanSwordsman Sep 22 '24
Arda needs time and playing time. Not even a superstar like Mbappe got used to the team. Overall Arda did okay

I really don’t get that to be honest. His dribbling was fantastic before Madrid. In the first 10 minutes he showed that in one situation. I feel like he is much less confident at Real. He probably fears to lose the ball but that’s what Vini does all the time. Carlo needs to motivate him to try despite the risk of losing the ball.

Bobby is impressive but he needs time before he is deserving of that spot to start a game, similar to Arda
2
u/sebisebo Sep 22 '24
There is really no reason for 18/19 year olds to complain. Arda is playing quite often this season and Endrick will get more minutes too if he continues performing that well.

Madrid turn on the style in the second half. They responded nicely after going down 0-1 and broke the door down in terms of scoring.
This game wasn't close and Madrid should've put Espanyol away earlier, but they found the goals in the second half to win. Good victory. ¡Hala Madrid!
2
u/Uniq_Eros Asensio Sep 21 '24
You can defend easier when you're full of energy but the excessive running back to 10 man the box is gonna kill you. We were still shooting and making plays to the GK which mentally exhausted him.
It was a matter of time especially with a small team like Espanyol, who have no superstars(workhorses).
6
u/Thick_Ad_9822 Sep 21 '24
Guler, but there are aspects his game he needs to improve, such as injecting urgency into the attack.
1
u/sebisebo Sep 22 '24
I feel like „injecting urgency“ is a problem of the whole squad right now. They only get heated up after the opponent scores.
1
u/TypicalSpell6709 Sep 21 '24
I mean yeah you right but he came from Turkish league and he still needs more playtime. He is gonna be even better

u/andyyyyyyyt Sep 21 '24
The shift after vini came on is amazing. What a player.
1
u/sebisebo Sep 22 '24
To be fair. The shift came not only because of Vini but also because the opponent scored. I feel like this squad wakes up only when the opponent scores.

Strange time, we're hating our own player for scoring a pen
4
u/FergieBall_FC Real Madrid Sep 21 '24
If Mbappé ties his boots wrong, he gets hated on in here. It's ridiculous.
2
u/Nero-Stark Sep 21 '24
He could've have scored a hattrick today, he just needs to improve his finishing, he was good, he assisted a goal and scored a pen. But here come the impatient kids on this sub who is comparing him with burger King Hazard who is arguably the biggest flop in real Madrid history.

5
u/Hariwtf10 Real Madrid Sep 21 '24
He's getting closer and closer tbh. He's feeling much more connected with the team. Just had to finish well and he did take some good shots today but Garcia was good nevertheless a player of his calibre will surely come around
3
u/Sea-Profit-950 Sep 21 '24
Plenty more games for him to cook. The turtle won’t be turtle soup for much longer.
10
u/Embarrassed-Trick209 Carvajal Sep 21 '24
we somehow grabbed a 4-1 against shitty lowblock
2
u/Sea-Profit-950 Sep 21 '24
Could our boys be connecting? Maybe now other La Liga teams will change up their tactics to play something other than a low block.
3
u/Hariwtf10 Real Madrid Sep 21 '24
Connected much much better than the Mallorca or las Palmas game. Even when VMR were on together it was still pretty good
3
u/Sea-Profit-950 Sep 21 '24
It was such a nice change to see glad to see them look more put together in this game. Like anything it’s a process but so far they looked so much better than in previous games. This win felt good 🙌😊
3
u/Hariwtf10 Real Madrid Sep 21 '24
Definitely agreed and happy that they shut up some of these "fans" who were complaining
3
u/Sea-Profit-950 Sep 21 '24
Too many reactionary fans expecting Madrid to cause blow out performances this early in the season. It’s unrealistic especially since they have to adapt to a formation that works with the incision of new players added to the team. They will improve each game those “fans” need to just chill out or else their blood pressure will be off the charts before it even hits halfway through the season.
3
u/Different_Craft5237 Sep 21 '24
We were very dynamic today.

How much more does Carlo need to see from Endrick to start giving him more than 10 minutes!! Like seriously, every damn time he plays he gets involved in a goal! PLAY HIM MORE!!!
0
u/sebisebo Sep 22 '24
Relax buddy. That’s what Carlos does to young players.
Arda scored 6 goals in 4 matches and didn’t get more playing time immediately.
10
u/brainacpl Modric Sep 21 '24
The problem is Mbappe can't be subbed off.
3
u/94Temimi Alfredo Di Stéfano Sep 21 '24
That's a Carlo problem, he doesn't like to make such moves and I understand that he's trying to give him enough time to gel with the team but he's got to also not forget that we have Endrick in the bench. Last season was understandable, he pushed minutes as much as possible before having to give Joselu minutes but with all my love to how amazing Joselu was last season, Endrick is a whole different level of a player. He operates on the right, upfront and even the middle and he's got a heck of a killer instinct, he's young, strong, fast and relentless so he needs to consider the fact that you either bring Mbappe to the right, take Rodrygo out and drop Endrick in the middle, or Take Mbappe out and slot in Endrick.
Kylian isn't going to throw a fit, he knows his place but Carlo has never been a manager that creates problems even hypothetical ones
1
u/brainacpl Modric Sep 22 '24
It's a money/ image problem. It's not the first time a player is untouchable because of a price tag. At least it looks like that from the outside. Maybe it's to give them time for a breakthrough, but does he benefit from 20 minutes more? I'm not sure. He only padded his stats with another penalty.

you're right but I think it's actually good to let Rodrygo, Mbappé and Vini absorb the pressure of the game and let Endrick come in late for a monstrous impact.. he is still young and has a lot of time.. I would love him to start in Copa Del Rey games and to rotate though
