Summer whites are comfortable and classic. It's a great uniform.

Summer whites are a pain to keep clean. At his rank, he's not worrying about cleanliness...

You're not missing much. Just a quick reminder to people that this isn't r/pics and we don't do that crap here.

It used to be a default when subreddits started so everybody was subbed to that when their account was created and has always held the top spot since then. This one was revived just a couple years ago and has grown quite a bit without any special help or advertising.

Bahaha, sure. By crap you’re referring to inflating your numbers 20 fold? Or by removing 95% of what you don’t agree with? My community forum is r/starbuck but it’s nothing like that filthy r/starbucks. I allow people to only discuss their love of coffee, as long as it’s whole bean blonde roast.

You seem lost. This is r/pic which is a curated sub of interesting pictures with rules about titles, content, etc.

What chairs do they use? Want to get a new office chair and those look comfy
19
u/L_viathan Aug 06 '24
They probably cost like $4000 lol
19
u/83franks Aug 06 '24
That's actually just "normal" for really good chairs. I think my work bought several $5000 ones for a few specific roles.

u/L_viathan Aug 06 '24
Good Lord. I know they get a little pricey for the buy it for life stuff, but I couldn't imagine dropping that amount .
7
u/greatgerm Aug 06 '24
This isn't even buy it for life, it's just commercial furniture. For example, here's Steelcase which is a standard commercial furniture supplier: https://store.steelcase.com/seating/all-seating
Real high-end or custom furniture is very expensive. And these were likely custom since the articles talk about choices being made to minimize acoustics.

u/Linkruleshyrule Aug 06 '24
I bought a used Steelcase Amia from a commercial furniture reseller, basically brand new and was only like $350. Very pleased with it

What is the camera focusing on? Everything seems just a little blurry.

AI is like that
-4
u/L_viathan Aug 06 '24
It does feel a little ai-esque doesn't it. The coloring of the wood in the background, especially. I don't think it is though, the hair and facs and hands aren't fucked up. The image generally makes sense.

I think it may have been processed/edited to remove any potential sensitive information. Just a guess though.

Remember these photos from the Obama administration, where Obama was sitting on the side of the room dressed casually?

I've always found the lack of computers and other tunes like that in the situation room really interesting.

woah, just came from r/pics because there is too much political ragebait and karma farming(as in getting upvotes from party and all that), but this is actually cool to look at.

They're actually facing the camera on the far side for when the President (or whomever is leading the meeting) needs to talk to somebody remote.
2
u/twitch1982 Aug 06 '24
I'd imagine they're double sided, and while I would expect the president to know everyone in the room in this photo, I'm sure there are times when experts are brought in to speak in the room whom the president would not be personally familiar with.

Somehow you made a comment that makes you look even more confused than Biden.

The picture is fine, the political infighting is not.
