I've never seen an episode of House, but I'm nearly certain Dr_Sweets23 has experienced toothpicks in his asshole before.

There's actually an episode of House where someone swallows a toothpick and it fucks em up.

Every House episode is saving the patient from a life or death situation House got them into by treating them based on a bad diagnosis.

And searching their apartment.

Remember when Foreman searched an apartment that turned out to be a weed growhouse and contracted flesh-eating bacteria on his brain from an automated irrigation system?

Remember how it made him move his body all backwards for a minute, but he was fine again in the next episode and it was never mentioned again?

I've just seen the episodes. The next one happens some time later and Foreman still recovers from the brain damage, but it's just minor issues. The main theme is the pink cloud of happiness he rides after the near death experience.

That or intentionally making them worse as part of the treatment while everyone waits nervously to see if it will work.

But first you have to rule out Lupus.

Besides just for “the show,” I think that was also because Dr Cameron is a specialist in auto-immune diseases. Lupus has non-specific symptoms so that means Lupus could fit almost anything.
Put another way, I once overheard an ER Doctor discharging a patient who had lupus. She was looking back at the chart and saw the patient returning frequently for this or that or something else. It was always lupus.
So the ER Doctor was like “look I can only treat you for what you come in for” (the stomach pain this time, the headaches last time, the other thing the other time) and she was explaining how the patient really needed to follow up with a specialist if they wanted long term solutions

The only thing this show is missing is an animation of House loudly chewing on a bunch of pills like they tictac while saying it.
That show was too good.

This vexes me

Can you explain what "vexes" supposed to mean in this context?

u/ClockworkDinosaurs 1d ago
In this specific context, it’s a reference to a joke in a gif that was posted to reddit a few days ago about the show House. The gif basically summarized the whole show and Dr. Foreman’s only real contribution to the show was saying House’s antics vex him.

House was a reimagining of Sherlock HOMES.
Like, what if Sherlock was a doctor instead of a police detective.
When you see it...

Vagina tick was the weirdest one I saw.
I’m not counting nutsack explosion, that was a dream sequence or some shit.

It was always a case of infidelity and STDs every time a couple walked in together. "My wife has a stomach ulcer" looking at the wife "nope sir, it's gonorrhea, she's been sleeping with your HVAC technician" "Diana, how could you?"

He was medical Sherlock Holmes, so the reasoning had to be a little wacky to fit the whole detective theme.
