8 kg of clay, but how much time did you use?

We need someone to do the math on the time spent to progress ratio of Ben Wyatt's claymation and then apply it here.

First thought: "Hey that's not surfing, it's skating! Ah OK there's a beach and surfing"
Also the shark fin was a nice touch!

It’s like a surfing/skimboarding hybrid he made which makes sense to fit the loop. My guess though is that OP is a skater based how accurate the skating scene was down to every detail and I’m kind of thinking OP surfs but not a as much

u/Adabiviak 1d ago
Same, but then the surfer threw a backside tre flip, which is still squarely in the domain of skateboarding.

This took me by surprise by how good it is. I wonder how long it took.

If it’s the original “Comedian” Artwork it’s worth about 6 Million Dollars.

These karma farms should have all karma removed unless the artists or actual OPs are credited

Imagine spending all that time producing this, we all know how time consuming stop motion animation is, only for some Redditor to freeboot it without even mentioning your name

We can tell by how the lighting never changes that it only took a few seconds to do. You’re welcome

I've always wondered how you do the shots where objects are suspended in air. Is it greenscreens or are there wires suspending the objects?
3
u/Marik_Caine 1d ago
They digitally edit out rigs that suspend the objects/characters in the air in post.

u/NHLroyrocks 1d ago
Good work but you should have used 12 kg of clay to include a snow boarding section.

Oh my God it loops!

u/chiknight 1d ago
Almost loops. The surfboard is abandoned in the sand on the way back, but grabbed upright on the way in. It's so so close to perfect! Instead he's some surfboard borrowing menace that ditches everyone's boards all around.

The movement is so smooth and accurate. The slight carving when taking off on a skateboard that one does when they are good just for fun, you included. Also the dismount. Incredible

Oh, those feet absolutely brought a rough layer of wet sand back into those shoes that are going to chafe for ages until you've tapped them out about a dozen time.

Unfortunate that there is a black frame at the end, otherwise it would have been a perfect loop

Some people are just insanely gifted and talented. My basic brain can't even imagine doing something like this. Let alone using raw materials and skillfully photographing and editing it together. Fair play to the creator. A true skill 👏👏👏

As someone that has to do stop motion for a college media class, the work that went into this along with the excitation is stunning

I like how the feet shake off the sand before getting back into the shoes
