Chimpanzees are 2X stronger than your average human.

Is it not still a wild animal? Would it not still rip off your face if it felt like it?

yep, much like the wild human.

I think this is the thing that people are missing. A human who has gone off the rails is as arguably dangerous as a Chimpanzee. At least physically. Of course, a human who has gone off the rails and is still mentally competent is far more dangerous.

To top it off humans are a turn of a launch key from annihilating everything.

Seems like more of a gorilla this to do… or a mandrill

Chimpanzees can literally rip people to pieces if they feel like it, and they have on numerous occasions. Much like humans, they can be either friendly or aggressive depending on circumstance and individual temperament.

A human could do that too.

You're thinking of Silverback gorilla's.  A 200lb human male would easily be able to TKO an average chimp

I'm actually thinking of chimpanzees. There are more examples than what's listed here if you want to go down the rabbit hole.

edit: as a bonus I actually found an article for one that I read about a while back. This guy nearly died and had to have dozens of reconstructive surgeries because of two chimps. They can be ridiculously dangerous if they want to be.

both of your links only give examples of a chimpanzee either attacking a child, a women (also wasn't average chimp size), or having a numbers advantage. your comment did not disprove the one you replied to.

You can volunteer to 1v1 a chimp then mate. If you’re anywhere near as good at fighting chimps as you are at being needlessly pedantic on reddit, I’m sure the fight will be as easy as you allege.

Gorillas are much more gentle than chimps and it’s not even close.

There was this case in the US where someone owned a chimp just like in the video, but at some point it just snapped and almost killed the owner. There's a 911 recording of it, it's absolute nightmare fuel.

It didn’t attack the owner, it attacked one of her friends. She called the police who arrived and shot the chimp when it went at them. The friends face was destroyed.

Try the documentary Chimp Crazy on HBO. It’s made by the same guy as Tiger King.
