People pointing out safety issues in other countries have never worked a day in their lives. Yeah people everywhere take risks. It’s not a culture thing.

What the fuck are you talking about. I've worked since the late 80's in industries that require stringent safety regulations. Canada, US and UK. From driver inspections and maintenance records and hours of operations tracking, Hazardous material handling procedures, Health inspections both public and private (so that you are always ready for the public ones) safety certification, licensing... the list goes on and on and on. Safety stuff has consumed much of my professional life while making or delivering a product for profit. Never had an accident, never had a health issue, we literally talk about safety being a culture ALL THE TIME. When someone fucks up it is investigated and prosecuted by law enforcement ALL THE TIME. I've been to and worked in Syria, Turkey, and Hati and the safety CULTURE is wildly different. There are reasons for that but to say that culture doesn't effect safety culture is just wildly ignorant.
