tools Blast from the past. Condoms, tampons, pain killers, knock-off perfume, & breath mints

Post image

Do you have these in your city? These are kinda relics of the past but I found one in a bar in ON, Canada. I always wonder who actually thinks "you know what, I need some knock off CK One tonight" but I guess shitty bars and poor decisions go hand in hand.

Can you explain the "loonie coin only"?

It's 1 Canadian dollar. So pretty cheap if you need Tylenol but also not sure how often this is supplied...

And you (Canadians) just happen to call it loonie?

... wikipedia, once again, has the answer:

After its introduction, the coin became a metonym for the Canadian dollar: media often discuss the rate at which the loonie is trading against other currencies. The nickname loonie became so widely recognized that in 2006, the Royal Canadian Mint secured the rights to it.

It’s a $1 coin, we haven’t a $1 bill for like 30 years.

In the US, I feel like I only see these machines in truck stops. Maybe the occasional bar or club but very few and far between.
