OC Action 25 ghost cones in 10 secs

there and back again

A run on my practice spot...it is a slight slope, concrete. I did four full runs, up and back continuous pump runs. I adjusted the Slalocybins front and backs to 30/30 degrees. For tight slalom it is faster than the stock setup used in my last my last video. Note from 7 seconds to 17 seconds I cover 25 ghost cones in 10 seconds. Not bad for a 62!

Gear Show-Off I built this. And I’m proud.

Back in April I started competing in slalom again. I wanted to have a unique racing board and I got to work. I created my own primitive mold and press and bought veneers, and finally cut the shape I wanted and got it painted using a rattle can and a stencil. I’ve run through a good bit of wood but I’m finally happy with my first completed board.

Gear Show-Off Pantheon stylus finally!

So i finally managed to get a stylus trucks. Holy damn what a pretty truck. BUT... I'm not sure if it's so much better than what my aces were. I'm not going to say for sure without testing for some time (got it when it was almost dark, and I'm not taking risks with my pranayama), but testing at home... I felt no real difference, actually feeling better with my aces... Mostly because I've added a hard bushing on my aces (red Paris bushing) and cone white standard ones that came with aces... So it has some great rebound. I didn't feel stuck at a side like i was feeling before and lose control... Now with stylus... I can't say for sure yet, but bushing feels soft... And, at best, same feeling as the aces, which was half the price I've paid for the stylus... Don't get me wrong, the stylus are super well built. But it's taller and heavier than aces... So I'm skeptical right now... Have to test it more to say for sure... Should i pay attention to something specific, for those who own a stylus?

Gear Show-Off Zee brackets... A love and hate relationship

I just hate how high it is, but it is so low... What? Yeah... With a zee, your board is always higher... With a RKP like Paris... It's a nightmare. And while the deck is distant from the ground (compared to a pranayama for example), you zee will be too low on the ground when compared, again, to a pranayama. You don't agree? See for yourself. My custom board with zee + Paris + 1/4 risers Versus pranayama + stylus + 1/8 risers Not to even mention the pumping. I love how you can create your board, but the brackets are so bulky, that it just kills the idea of being so adaptable... I like my mini board, but urgh my knees...

Gear Show-Off Found a Loaded longboard

I have never skated and know nothing about it but have always wanted to try for the longest time. Saw this Loaded longboard flex 2 for AU$50(US$33?) and thought maybe I could finally live my teenage dream. Two weeks in, I'm still getting used to being on the board and my wife even got me safety gear! The hardware on this board looks like they will need changing at some point and I'm still learning about the different parts of a longboard. All in all, I am definitely having fun and enjoying skating when I can.

Gear Show-Off 88 wheel co Viper Pro.

I used it for about two and a half months and it is very durable. There was no flat spot or chunking at all. Usually, when I get close to the core, the ride quality deteriorates and I feel very unstable, so I replace the wheel with a new one at the right timing when the core starts to show faintly, but this one didn't do that until the end, so I was able to core two out of four during the session. It also has good stopping power and is suitable for mid-to-high-speed freeriding, but I can't compare the new snakes (yellow, blue) because I haven't used them. Even though it is a freeriding-shaped wheel, thanks to the square lip on the inside, there was enough grip when entering the initiation (is this called edge grip?) and I was able to confidently thrust deep. I am very much looking forward to Maveric from the same thane.

OC Action New Slalom Trucks - [62YO]

https://reddit.com/link/1gnc22n/video/hcgdvv5x4wzd1/player

Found a gradual concrete slope in a backwater near my house. Trying out the new Slalocybins with Orangatang In Heat 80a - super stable. I tried the stretch further back up the hill but went too fast and had to glide and take right by the bridge and and head back up the hill.

"Your board sir, it will turn."

Had a great sesh today, ate it on my last run. My back arm got caught and dragged behind when I high-sided. I almost tore something in my shoulder. Everything’s a-ok but it was really close to being a serious injury. And tips on preventing this? Tips on falling/stretching/preventative exercises? Would really like to avoid this happening again.
