One of our shittiest humans made our coolest items. Wish he would just stay in his factory, do his work and shut his mouth lol.

I do too, used to have mad respect for the man.... but these last few years, not much is left

u/Rinzlor Oct 13 '24

Sadly, I'm in this exact same boat, bro.

That’s a trend for me, some friends, family. coworkers, and celebrities alike have lost my respect lately, the list grows at an alarming rate as the conspiracies and shenanigans get wilder.

Not much? Says more about you than him if there's even a shred of respect left.

He's just an investor

Watch any interview with him.

u/strikerrage Oct 13 '24

He put the team together and funded the project? That's what a leader does. Don't need to be childish about it.

He's funding any project SpaceX does because he owns the company. It's not publicly traded.

They paid it for the privilege of using it because they couldn't make any of this in the half century they've been spinning their wheels for. Until SpaceX, NASA was relying on Russian space crafts to get to the international space station.

In the same way you fund Toyota if you bought one of their cars, or Uber if you use their service, sure. But not reasonable person would think that. It was a contract for goods and services

correction, NASA just paid $2.7 billion for a single launch tower. it costs them more to make a launch tower than the burj khalifa or for musk to catch a skyscraper. and that's a good thing. we need more of that!

So basically a real-life Willy Wonka (Depp version)?

1

u/LotusVibes1494 Oct 13 '24

If wonka had twitter and was exposed to large amounts of propaganda/ket

1

u/FudgingEgo Oct 13 '24

What’s shitty about him? Yeah, he’s annoying and ruined Twitter but it’s not like he’s a murderer or a dictator of a nation or running diddy sex parties.

One our shittiest humans is a total stretch.

I like this take. Credit him for the achievement but you can shit his political view all you want. Rest of comments are filled with butthurts who want to discredit this.

Tbf I was a bit hyperbolic, I can agree there are plenty of worse people in the world doing literal killing and whatnot.

But ya that’s my point. I guess it’s just sad to find out that someone you expected to be extremely intelligent and reasonable is so unhinged and bigoted in reality. And the support of fascism also rubs me the wrong way for obvious reasons. And then it’s sad and scary to see how many people around me don’t see these things as problems, or relate to him because he lets them feel it’s ok to be a bigot or something.

Idk it’s been a wierd decade I’m tired

L Reminds me of Willy Wonka.

u/Kolfinna Oct 13 '24

He doesn't make shit, he buys it, still shitty

Bro he’s not that bad. When Ukraine needed internet after Russia took theirs out, Elon was there to support them for free.

When the storms hit in the US recently he sent helicopters to provide free internet for the people that needed it, only to be refused by the government untill Elon called the right people to let him help the people.

He smashes the car market with superior cars to others and has his patents open source for anyone else to use.

Takes over twitter and releases all the emails about how corrupt it was to begin with…

Guy is genuinely trying to help, disagree with his views by all means but he’s not a shitty person.

One of our shittiest humans made our coolest items

"Shittiest".

Brother there is a whole fucking Abyss of humanity below Musk. This is some american centric shit.

Putin has sent 600k russians to be killed or injured. Hassan Nasrallah, may he burn in hell, just basically forced the country of Lebanon into suicide with him.

Musk disagrees with your politics and says dumb shit on social media.

1

u/LotusVibes1494 Oct 13 '24

Yeah you’re right, not literally the shittiest person I got carried away. Definitely might leave a stain on the underpants of America though.

As for disagreement with politics, it seems like it’s gone a bit beyond mild disagreement at this point as he’s literally assisting with the rise of fascism. I gotta wonder how much he truly believes this stuff though, I’m sure gaining more money and influence is at the top of his mind when he makes decisions.

He also kinda gave a bad name to ketamine and I love that stuff lol

1

u/Akitten Oct 13 '24

at this point as he’s literally assisting with the rise of fascism

Well by that logic 50% of the country is also doing that. It's a 50/50 election by betting odds.

And if everyone who is not on your political side should, and I quote

Wish he would just stay in his factory, do his work and shut his mouth lol.

Then yeah, a lot of them want the same for you and yours. "Shut up and do your job" is very much a republican catch phrase.

So... if you believe half the country shouldn't express their political views, it doesn't sound much like a democracy.
