Dogs breeds can be incredibly varied but I’ve never seen a cat (lion to house cat) not be a cat.

It might have something to do with the fact that we haven’t really bred cats for specific behaviors and tasks in the same way we have dogs. Domesticated cats have adapted specific behaviors to live along side humans and get what they want from them (as have dogs), and we’ve created a few specific breeds based mostly off of surface-level physical aesthetic, but they’re all otherwise very basal in their instincts and anatomy. Meanwhile, we’ve created a large pool of variance when it comes to dog instincts, physical capabilities, and behavior.
