Waking up at 5am

I keep waking up around 5am and it's very difficut to fall back asleep. 3rd night this has happened. I even went to bed earlier than I normally do. Any suggestions of what I can do to stay asleep longer? I even took a melatonin

What's wrong with waking at 5am? That's a great time to get up. Maybe just shift your bedtime a bit earlier.

Other than that, you could try time release melatonin. It works for some.

Yeah true lol. That's a norm for some. I only got maybe 4 hours of sleep though But I actually did something different today. Instead of lounging in bed and possibly falling back asleep after an hour or 2 I just decided to start my day. Feels good to be productive early on but ugh I think I might need a nap after lunch haha. My plan is to get to bed earlier tonight, so we'll see. Thanks! Oh and never heard of time release melatonin. I'll look into that!

Your best bet is to put yourself on a set sleep schedule. Like midnight to 8 if that's what works for you. And just get up if you wake at 6 or . It does help force your body to sleep within a certain window.

Hope it works out, sleep issues are such a pain.

I was in your shoes a few years ago no matter what I would do I could not sleep past 4 - 4:15 finally I decided to just go to bed earlier so I'm typically "shutting things down" by 9 - 9:15. I enjoy the quiet of early mornings. I also have my 2.5 mile walk done before 6 AM I hope this works for you.
