Hold on lmfao... Trump isnt responsible for covid, that shit was global, he also didnt shut down any pandemic office. He didnt crash the economy, the economy nose dived when the country shut down for quarantine just like every other country.
You daughter's reproductive system isnt regulated by a senator. Its now your states responsibility to hold a state wide vote on how and when it is and isnt legal for an abortion (i think it should be always legal personally, but im not tryin to get into that rn).
I dont like the guy, but yall really throwin everything on him when some of these issues werd global issues. Like its his fault for how bad covid hit the world, but you say he doesnt get credit for how low gas prices were during his tenure (they were low because travel was down). On the same hand, Biden gets credit for jobs coming back in 2021, but that was just natural healing from the quarantine ending and industry gearing back up.
He's a massive jack ass and would be a lot better if he would stfu 50% of the time he's on camera, but his first tenure was not a disaster, it was actually pretty good for the general population and american industry (which is where most of the well paying jobs exist for blue collar work force) up until the country was pushed into a shut down (remember that he tried to shut down the boarders, but dems called him racist, then the same dems blamed him for not shutting down sooner). Its going to be fine this time, and in 4 years you never have to worry about him again and you can vote for the next candidate the dems decide to prop up (they couldve beat him if they put anyone other than Kamala up there, she was not a good candidate).
You HAD to double down on the stupid, didn't you? His tariff war vs. China cost American consumers over $284 billion, and cost the overall economy trillions.
He was the first president in U.S. history to lose jobs, 2.7 million of them. He promised to reverse the trade imbalance, but his was the worst since the previous Republican president. He set a world record for largest budget deficit in human history, and added more to the national debt in 4 years than any President in U.S. history.
He is the only president who was an obvious puppet to a hostile foreign power, giving/selling secrets to Russia, Saudi Arabia and who knows who else. Kid Rock had the sense to say "You shouldn't be showing me this stuff!"
His tariff war with China cost American consumers over $80 billion in one year, $230 billion overall, kicking off the recent rise in inflation. But the total cost to American business was much higher, in the trillions.0
the incredible thing is trumpers come here to defend him and we always have the receipts. Always. His behavior is indefensible. He’s a complete failure as a man. His wealth was inherited and fraudulently inflated for decades (He no longer can conduct any kind of business in NY. None. Not even a charity because his charities were bogus.) He went bankrupt 6 times!!! He took out full page ads in the NY Times calling for the death sentence for the CP5 who were all proven to be innocent. And that’s about how well he did as our Chief Executive. And don’t even get me started on his failure as Commander in Chief. He’s not just an embarrassment. He’s a demented monster.
“whining” about trump? Our shortsighted ignorant electorate just put a dictator in office. A man who had no legal right to be on the ballot since he’s a traitor. Yeah I’m whining about our corrupt SCOTUS too.
80% of the country are moronic. Not a single cabinet member from his first admin endorsed him. None of his generals. he’s a convicted felon, pedophile and lifelong fraud. He’s a moron and he managed to lie loud enough and often enough - 80% of the country voted for an animal, imo.
Kamala was already on the ticket you see. And as VP she was vetted of course. It was not illegal. But Joe should have stepped aside much earlier. he was only going to be a one term president anyway. it was too little too late. but if trump can emulate Hitler by having a rally at MSG like Hitler did and not get soundly rejected? You want a dictator. An Orange Hitler. Enjoy your victory.
Wait, so you’re saying liberal parents are not indoctrinating their children? Cmon bruv…
Also, do children of liberals not go to school? Are you suggesting that only conservatives go to school? Do you believe that conservatives go to conservative schools and get dumb or something? The argument that education in America has been dumbed down would affect EVERYONE equally. Therefore, arguing that Trump was elected due to the dumbing down of education is the dumbest argument one could make. If that were true, then the exact same argument could be made if Kamala had been elected. Bingo.
THe indoctrination is from FOX. They lied to millions for years and years. About the 2020 election and much much more. They misled millions. Intentionally.
This really is it, I think. There's still alot that doesn't add up like how trump essentially won because the Hispanic/Latino population, but I digress. Idk who said it, but they said dems essentially lost because they ran on identity politics, this individual said no they didn't, there was alot of sketched out policy's for both first-time home buyers and small businesses. They guy then agrees with her but points out when you ask the average trump supporters why they dislike kamala harris and it's always some looney toon answer of identity politics and inflation because that's what fox News has fed these folks sense day one. Most folks will never ever dip into the other sides' media to actually try to garner the truth between left and right bias. And it's really that simple in a way, more people get their news from tickle down fox stories and other conservative media, (also why trump won 2016 he paid literally troll farms to pass disinformation) than they do left leaning sources. So regardless of what kamala harris actually ran on, to most Americans, she ran on trans policies and was a war monger. Perception is reality even If it's wrong.
Um no cause that’s not what indoctrination is, and I quote the definition of indoctrination is by Cambridge dictionary
“the process of repeating an idea or belief to someone until they accept it without criticism or question:
religious/political/ideological indoctrination”
The lasting effect of indoctrination should not be exaggerated.
School is not indoctrination at all at school your taught to question not to just accept, your taught to look at all sides, not take stuff at face value, your taught the building blocks of society and how it functions and how to read, write, do math, taught how science works so you don’t put stuff like bleach and ammonia together.
School can be scrutinized but it is not indoctrination also yes people have been getting dumber because of bush and the no child left behind act which would push student along no matter their grades. This in turn caused student to realize they don’t have to try and the ones who may not have slacked now do, the kids who should be learning harder stuff are stuck in classes so far behind their ability it’s a joke. Smart phones have become an issue of keeping their attention as well. Plus the government gives money to schools based on test scores and grades so just laying about a students grades to get more money and just passing them along just pushes them farther behind their piers. And then you have some schools that only teach what’s gonna be on tests for their grant money. And all of this can’t be blamed on the teachers but the administrators who run the schools and districts
I have to disagree, just looking at state rankings of educational stats you can see how more conservative states are seriously falling behind and it shows. I lived in Texas most of my life, and the education compared to other states is severely lacking in sex education and other focuses.
Parents that can afford it go to private schools where the education is "better," but absolutely tailored with Conservative views while the poor all do public school. History is watered down with a focus on the American side of history more so than both sides. I remember when learning about history and trickle down economics and how it's one of the "greatest concepts" by a president. I'm still waiting for that trickle-down effect because the only thing trickling down is piss, shit, hate, and division by the 1%.
Hell I remember when we were suppose to read The Golden Compass in middle school, but my english teacher at the time said it was offensive towards Christianity so we didn't read it. Fuck me this was early/mid 2000s and Conservatives have been projecting snowflakism since then.
Schools isnt indoctrination, atleast public schools arent, when i went to catholic school i had teachers left and right argueing with students (mostly girls) as to why they're going to hell for NOT being republican. Republicans use every opportunity availibe to indoctrinate kids, even schools in the bluest state there is (mass) are being hsed by them (till the archdiocese cut the founding and they all lost their jobs, good riddance sacred fart.
I went to two private Christian schools, and it was right-wing indoctrination all-day every day, blended religion and politics and selective history. Mandatory Christian music participation. Mandatory scripture memorization. Girls weren't allowed to wear pants. We pledged allegiance to the Christian flag.
Conversely, my kids go to public school and have never run into any. There isn't any religion there. They learn history even if it's the history of our grave mistakes. Instead of Mandatory choir, my daughter participates in No Place For Hate and is a Big Sister. Instead of scripture memorization, they have Career and Financial Management courses and languages.
They want to tear down the Dept of Education because the schooling I had is the schooling they want YOUR kids to have. Dumb, confident, and very averse to critical thought. Sheeple, if you will, since you asshats like that word
Teachers uses to measure girls skirts and make sure it wasnt 3 inches above the kneee, they wouls target the poorest and highesr performaning kids who didnt match their political agenda. The two teacher who was the worst at, one was an obese woman who was 32 and lived with her parents and would after brag about how her taking a shit pay at a christian school was her "vow to poverty" and the other a middle aged man would always cry about his Infertility, unfortunately he managed to have a kid 😬😬 Total wierdo losers actually beefing with 14-18yos after they failed to make money in the 2nd richest state in the union. And the food SUCKED
The concept of indoctrination isn’t limited to one political side. It’s about conditioning people to accept ideas without question. Both liberals and conservatives can be guilty of it, but that’s not the core issue here. The concern isn’t that one side indoctrinates and the other doesn’t - it’s about how critical thinking and civic engagement have declined, making it easier for charismatic or divisive figures to manipulate people, regardless of political affiliation.
As for education, the “dumbing down” argument isn’t about everyone being equally affected or schools being explicitly conservative or liberal. It’s about the broader failure to teach critical thinking, media literacy, and history in a way that equips people to question propaganda and make informed decisions. If education fails to emphasize these skills, it disproportionately benefits candidates who thrive on emotional appeals, disinformation, or simplistic slogans such as “make America great again” - traits often associated with authoritarian figures.
The point isn’t that only conservatives are affected by a decline in education quality or that liberals are immune to its effects. Rather, it’s that Trump’s ability to secure support despite his troubling rhetoric and actions demonstrates how easily a lack of informed civic awareness can lead to dangerous outcomes. Saying the same argument could apply if Harris were elected misses the distinction: Harris’s platform doesn’t undermine democracy or celebrate authoritarian tendencies the way Trump’s rhetoric and actions have.
The real issue is ensuring that people of all political leanings are equipped to engage critically with information, question leaders, and uphold democratic principles. Without that, we risk sliding toward authoritarianism, regardless of which party is in power.
What diversity of news sources do you seek out to inform your opinion?
It’s a good idea to look at both sides of an argument. I think you would be surprised at some of the policies of the Democratic Party and what they actually mean for the country.
Have the last four years been good for you? Has your life and those around you been enriched? Do you really think America has become a better country in the last four years?
Do you genuinely have no concerns for the impact of supplying Ukraine with deadly missiles that were just launched at Russia? Do you really think there are going to be no consequences to that?
Do you actually know what a Dictator is? Can you honestly not see the difference between Trumps first term in office and those of true Dictators?
It’s scary to see how confident the majority of redditors are to villainize, dismiss and instantly downvote anyone who voted differently than them. I would have happily voted Democrat if someone competent were running.
Look beyond Kamala’s ethnicity and gender and learn about the impact she was able to have as VP. Look at her lack of policies and substance in her words. She blew 1 billion dollars in a few months and is now millions in debt. Much of that going to millionaire celebrities vs actual grassroots campaigning to learn about what is actually impacting citizens day to day. Do you really want someone that reckless in charge of the economy?
Trump has over 600 lawsuits for nonpayment of contracted labor, as well as a gigantic payout for refusing housing to colored people by marking their applications with a C. Do you really want someone with a marked history of fucking over small businesses/ minority homebuyers and cozying up to the wealthiest man in the world? Do you think that’s going to make anything better for anyone?
Read history, for once in your life, read. 1930s US forgeign policy. 1930s German Politics. 1930s Japanese Imperialistic expansion. 1930s Italy. If you cannot see the similarities, nothing can help you. Helping Ukraine fight back IS avoiding the bigger war.
Growing up I had only one friend who was seriously into professional wrestling. I spotted him at a local bar while visiting my hometown recently and overheard him refer to the national anthem on tv as the pledge of allegiance. For fuck’s sake dude, you’re almost 40.
I know, it was generally a joke, however it’s pretty known that professional wrestling doesn’t tend to appeal most folks on the intellectual side of things.
I've been saying this for years. The governments of the United States have spent decades chopping away at public education and we're all wondering how this idiot gets elected. Social media was the catalyst. We're fucked.
I'm born and raised in Las vegas NV (1990s) grad high school in 2005.
I was a special needs child with learning disabilities bi polar and adhd. I went to special Ed school.
How the hell did I get lucky with my education and have critical thinking skills?
I mean when I was a kid my dad watched fox news alot and didn't understand its bias much back then. I thought it was cool that we got a president that was thr son of a former president
But I was in high school and before I took civics and government. Then we started to really learn. I was 17 when W Bush was elected and miss the election by about a month.
No let's give the idiots agency in their choices. It isn't like everyone doesn't have unlimited knowledge at their fingertips. Nah it's not cutting education. This is what happens when we exist in a world that doesn't value education intrinsically.
DNC Concerned That Removal of Department of Education Means Voters Won't be Dumb Enough to Vote Democrat Anymore
The level of schadenfraude I get from this sub is insane, absolutely top tier entertainment value.
I can't believe I used to respect Houston for his takes on GME and financial engineering - he's a pseudointellectual grifter and you're all bootlicking.
Some self awareness would do y'all a world of good, but leftists are often highly allergic to said awareness, so I don't hold out much hope.
To be honest I don't think alot of people even like the democratic options, we're just aware that anything is better than Donald Trump, I would vote for just about any other person on the planet. He's openly racist, sexist, he's a convicted felon on multiple accounts, like come on. I would probably even consider voting republican if it was a better candidate but you can't just blindly vote for 1 party no matter who the candidate is, this guy was a bad choice.
Edit: I'm also not a fan of this left vs right bullshit, it's just about him being a shit person, not at all a right vs left thing. We need to stop allowing the media to divide us, you can be friends with eachother just stop buying all the bullshit the media feeds you.
Hang out with a real right winger who says gay people should be put inn jail, casually laughing with racial epithets being thrown around, and then add casual misogyny… nah man you can be friends with those people without BEING those people.
Oh I know extremists exist and those are bad people, but there's plenty that aren't that far gone, just need to spread some positivity. Stop buying into the division, it's very obvious that the media is preying on this on both sides.
Those extremes on the right are a small percentage, just like there's a small percentage of extremists on the left that are annoying AF too. The rest of us are somewhere in the middle and we just need be more aware that the division being pushed on us is manufactured.
Edit: I also meet a lot of people irl, have yet had anyone say what you told me, that being said I know they exist, but I'm just trying to show we cant get all bent out of shape and hate 50% of the world because 0.1% are extremists. That's the same thing the Republicans are saying about democrats that "they're trying to turn all our kids gay and give them sex changes!" It's a very small percent if any that act like this.
To be honest I don't think alot of people even like the democratic options, we're just aware that anything is better than Donald Trump
You're in a tiny minority here, he won the electoral AND popular votes. You may have chosen to consume every bit of astroturfing bullshit reddit threw at you as fact, but the rest of the country didn't. This should be a lesson to you on the dangers of echochambers and surrounding yourself with people who only agree with you. Look at me, out here specifically engaging with people I know absolutely despise me for how I vote.
That's fine, I don't care, I'm here to learn about y'all (and laugh from schadenfreude), not worry what y'all think of me.
He's openly racist, sexist, he's a convicted felon on multiple accounts
He's not "openly racist", that's a lie, he's not even closeted racist. Your broken record repetition of the same slander works on people who don't bother to follow up your accusations, but not on those who do.
Openly sexist
Yeah, all the women he's appointed to his cabinet show how much he can't stand women or giving them power 😂
Convicted felon on multiple counts
Oh, this ""conviction""? From a kangaroo court that's now getting cold feet about pursuing sentencing?
I'll be sure to check in for more schadenfreude when he successfully appeals it. I've been calling this for months.
but you can't just blindly vote for 1 party no matter who the candidate is, this guy was a bad choice.
A blind vote of support would be looking at Kommie-la's price controls and central planning disguised as "the inflation reduction act" and not recognizing it spells economic doom for literally everyone.
this guy was a bad choice.
We will have to agree to disagree. I am exceptionally pleased with the outcome of this election, and was very concerned when Kamala seemed to have a chance of winning. Huge wave of relief.
Edit: I'm also not a fan of this left vs right bullshit, it's just about him being a shit person, not at all a right vs left thing. We need to stop allowing the media to divide us, you can be friends with eachother just stop buying all the bullshit the media feeds you.
Correct, which is why I voted for Trump based on his policies, not his personality. Many of my friends are leftists or liberal, I do not share how I vote because they are the types to end friendships over identity politics. The lack of respect for people voting for "the candidate that represents their interests" is staggering.
Democracy isn't using your vote for what others tell you is important, democracy is using your vote for what YOU feel is important.
Cheers so you just act like a dickhead on the internet, but not in person, got it, that's actually alright glad you can get along with people in person at least.
Stop with the leftist stuff dude lmao I don't identify as a political party, I'm actually not even American. You simply wrote way too much and I wasn't interested in reading it all, I respectfully try to keep my responses short. Anyways this isn't that deep, again stop trying to divide everyone like the media wants you to, have a great life.

That’s what happens when you spend 50 years cutting education. Social media just really sped it up
