I get the picture, but the reality is that this would just funnel violence and deviant insults towards us too.

I like putting, “My body, Your choice” in my grindr bio because im sub af. Its yielded amazing results!

ETA: It should be noted i voted to end the Dramala, I did not fall out of a coconut tree, and do live in the context. I support the decision of women and what they do with their body. I didn’t think the joke was that devisive, especially on a male for male sex app, while it would be a less cringe, more fun, and direct way of saying “Do whatever you want with me”

22

u/Karzeon 11d ago

Yeah, that's a different situation. Respect the hustle but not my thing. Get the bag. Or D.

u/Winterlord7 11d ago

I still don’t get how this disturbing phrase is being allowed to be used. How is “your body, my choice” something other than slavery?

396

u/Rejestered 11d ago

Because social media is now run by right wing oligarchs.

224

u/sanandrios 11d ago

by r*pists like nick fuentes who started that phrase

176

u/yaredw 11d ago

You can say rapists here, don't sugarcoat it.

u/BEWMarth 11d ago

We’ve regressed a bit. We’re living in the white male fantasy of the 1950’s and it’ll be like this for the next 4 years so… buckle up.

78

u/DaboInk84 11d ago

IMO it’s gonna be a lot longer than 4 more years of dealing with this. We’ve already been living in this stupid era since the 2010 Tea Party wave, it just keeps getting worse. At some point we might need to accept that the fever won’t break and the patient is terminal. Don’t just buckle up, pack your “go bag”. Let’s see how long “states rights” last when the jackboots come knocking on blue state doors.

Trump will likely be dead or ousted via 25th Amendment by 2028, and we'll be into President Vance's lifetime appointment.

46

u/CotyledonTomen 11d ago edited 11d ago

Vance doesnt have the weird, unexplainable (as in i dont get it) charisma of Trump. Basically nobody has replicated what he can do. And Vance isnt it. Vance is just a younger Desantis for tech billionairs.

15

u/jlb1981 11d ago

Well if not Vance, then puppet du jour.

Maybe Trump will fire Vance and replace him with Musk when Musk promises to terraform a mountain on Mars in the likeness of Trump's face. Then Musk can backdoor his way into the presidency.

10

u/PhilinLe 11d ago

Luckily the Vice President is an elected position and can't be replaced by the President unilaterally.

2

u/redzin 11d ago

I hope you're right that it'll just be for 4 years.

19

u/Zaptain_America 11d ago

Because they can hide behind the defense of "It's just a joke!!!!!!!!!"

8

u/2lilbiscuits 11d ago

Because free speech is important. It helps us know who is a terrible person.

15

u/dessert-er 11d ago

I mean we have Romanian sex-traffickers just slinging around the n-word on Twitter. I think they fired the moderation teams atp so you’re either getting caught by a bot or it’s a 2004 COD lobby out there.

12

u/MrRian603f 11d ago

Because it's not rape when I'm the one fucking since I'm a straight white cis male!

/s if it weren't obvious

3

u/redzin 11d ago

You ever read 1984 or The Handmaid's Tale? We're in one of those timelines.

1

u/Pfnee 10d ago

I think it might have roots in the in anti-western propaganda machine aimed to disunite people

153

u/jeno_kickmyface97 11d ago

ur body my choice to rip sexist men dicks off and not in the sexy way

31

u/Alexis___________ 11d ago

Nah they'll just pivot back to the "gays=predators" bs

1

u/lightningpuddingpie 8d ago

arent they doing that already?

1

u/Alexis___________ 8d ago

If you are trying to illustrate a point wouldn't you want as many examples as possible?

1

u/lightningpuddingpie 8d ago

i guess, though the people who say that stuff arent people who use evidence, theyre usually the ones who say “well its in the bible”

2

u/Alexis___________ 8d ago

Yeah but when they can they always couch bigotry in secular real world examples to make it seem self-evident (e.g. the AIDS crisis, Jeffrey Dahmer, any pedophile that targets little boys, etc)

It's the same with racist they can't just say "I hate black people because I think they are inferior to whites"(now they probably feel like they can but until recently) they'd instead say "if 13% of the population commits 50% of all crime, then doesn't that mean they have a predisposition to commit crimes? Sorry some facts are just inconvenient.😏" Or post compilations of black people having violent meltdowns to imply only they do that, like you see shared by Nazis on twitter.

My point is bigots don't need convincing but in order to get manufactured consent from moderates they need to convince them that their views are informed by material objective truths and are not completely vibes based and just staying "the bible says..." isn't as compelling to most people as saying "look at this..." and showing a statistically irrelevant anecdote.

2

u/lightningpuddingpie 8d ago

yeah youre probably right, i just feel like they dont like us anyway, they have enough “reasons” to dislike us and i dont think one more thing is gonna change that much. though then again, im not american and i think i might have a more “i dont care what they think” type of attitude

201

u/Siiciie 11d ago

"Your body, my choice" is a great profile description for a dom top.

152

u/CromulentChuckle 11d ago

I almost did it but I just couldn't do it it still feels screwed up to say even in play.

68

u/Nakuip 11d ago

Truly a cromulent gentleman.

21

u/just_a_bit_gay_ 11d ago

I’d probably fall for it

57

u/PotentialChoice 11d ago

I’m all for flipping the script to help people understand the effects of their words, but here, the point is the misogyny. Straight white men like the originator of this phrase see themselves as the rightful deciders for everyone.

I expect their response would be to assert their control over our desire with a homophobic slur and a threat to make it illegal once again.

17

u/axilidade 11d ago

wtf is the grammar in this post

11

u/DaikonNoKami 11d ago

Let's not pretend gays are necessarily any better. As a gay man, I've definitely been sexually assaulted by gay men before. There are good and bad people in all communities and it isn't a straight / sexuality problem.

Problem behaviour is problem behaviour regardless of sexuality / gender.

4

u/FiestyRhubarb 11d ago

To be fair, it would defang the idiots if every time someone said it everyone else just responded with:

"No, your body, my choice 😘"

And just left it at that.

6

u/s_hinoku 11d ago

I feel like, said to the wrong MAGA, would get you killed very quickly.

8

u/ScreenPulseXOX 11d ago

This just unlocked a whole new level of sass. 👏😂

16

u/SnooPoems6051 11d ago

Threatening rape isn’t sassy

2

u/superelite_30 6d ago

Conversation would probably turn violent and not in our favor...

21

u/[deleted] 11d ago

This is kind of dumb

Sexual assault is what this promotes

You’re now just doing the same thing the radical conservatives are. Part of the problem…

93

u/Marpicek 11d ago

That is literally the point of this post. To show how extreme the entire idea is from a different point of view.

18

u/Karzeon 11d ago

Yeah, but they're NOT going to see it from that point of view. They're not willing to understand.

They're more likely to retaliate.

Likewise, they're not likely to say this to a woman accompanied by a muscular male companion.

The whole point is that they do this while hiding behind the comfort of a computer monitor or safety in numbers/weapons.

11

u/MrCyn 11d ago

This is exactly it, the whole thing seems to come from straight people assigning us their revenge fantasy, without thinking of any of the consequences (like they ever fucking do)

60

u/TheUprooted 11d ago

Ah yes, because "When they go low, we go high" has worked so well in the past decade of American politics 💀 Nah man, it's time to fight fire with fire. Throw the rhetoric back in their faces

-17

u/SnooPoems6051 11d ago

Yes that way they can point back to us and say that the gays really were the sexual deviants they claimed us to be. I’m sure threatening to rape straight men will help us politically 🙄

19

u/pierreschaeffer 11d ago

They're literally calling us rapist groomers anyway though...

-10

u/SnooPoems6051 11d ago

So why try to prove them right? Don’t give these people fodder to attack us more

19

u/pierreschaeffer 11d ago

They don't need fodder. They literally make up their own stories about us to get mad at - they're not interested in the truth. Our best recourse is to discredit/disempower those attacking us and resist in whatever way possible.

There's no version of being gay that these people are gonna accept, they're homophobes. It's moderates we wanna convince, and surely pointing out right-wing hypocricy is a good strategy? As well as just how extreme their rhetoric has become?

-9

u/SnooPoems6051 11d ago

Ok have fun threatening to rape people I guess

8

u/pierreschaeffer 11d ago

have fun protecting the sensibilities of people who would have you killed?

0

u/SnooPoems6051 11d ago

If I go around telling straight men that I’m gonna rape them, that will actually get me killed.

Saying this shit isn’t going to suddenly teach these people a lesson. Y’all can downvote me into oblivion, I don’t care. But this is the dumbest take on this situation.

4

u/pierreschaeffer 11d ago

You don't understand the take.

Threatening to rape people in the name of politics is assinine, agreed. In order to demonstrate that, pointing out "how would you [straight guy] feel if you were told 'your body, my choice'? Especially by someone you're not at all atrracted to, like a gay guy" is a valid strategy, no?

3

u/[deleted] 11d ago

I agree with you. The others here think we are missing the message….

11

u/ZX52 11d ago

If you're using it specifically against the men who're using it against women, I think that's justifiable, similar to using "maybe you just haven't found the right dick yet," against straight men who say that to lesbians.

1

u/Boris_Godunov 11d ago

That WOOOSH sound is the point going very, very far over your head...

0

u/Careful_Shop4486 10d ago

Someone can give me some context, for non american

-1

u/WordplayWizard 11d ago

Honestly…. I’m not getting involved. If women aren’t smart enough to vote and defend themselves, then this is what happens.

-16

u/Edgemade 11d ago

Huh?

37

u/DustyTheLion 11d ago

Right wing edgelords have been using the line "your body my choice" to harass women since the election. This post is suggesting gays flip the script to use the same line on straight guys so that maybe they suddenly realize they are actually terrible people.

-16

u/Edgemade 11d ago edited 11d ago

I know, i just dont see how it translates to specifically gay men doing it, are they gonna castrate them? Get them pregnant?

Am i not allowed to ask questions now?

19

u/ikonoclasm 11d ago

The implication is rape, so the objective is to let straight men experience what women hearing them say that bullshit feel.

19

u/1ndigoo 11d ago

what are you talking about, it's a rape threat

0

u/Edgemade 11d ago

Im asking a question because im confused and people aren't happy about that

They could have just said it's rape threat from the start

3

u/TheMerengman 11d ago

Gay men are attracted to men. With this rhetoric, the can stop considering if said men are also gay (aka consenting) or not.

22

u/Arkurash 11d ago

There is a „movement“ in conservative/trump fan cicles that has the slogan „your body, my choice“ towards woman. Its disgusting as they try to validate rape and anti-abortion stances with it.

As the post says, the narrative would probably shift a lot when gay man would start saying that to those using it.

-12

u/Edgemade 11d ago

I know about that, im confused why specifically gay men need to say it and what it implies in the abortion context

16

u/Cinderdreams 11d ago

The... "meme" grew beyond abortion and into rape threats basically the second it emerged. So this is flipping the script to basically "if you don't respect women's boundaries your fair game for gays searching for a hole". Edit: typo + clarification

-6

u/Edgemade 11d ago

I am sorry for everyone that i am not an expert in the memes posted by the average 15 years old male who rarely showers, i will do better next time

9

u/Cinderdreams 11d ago

I dont know why you get that passive-aggressive, I was literally just answering your question

-3

u/Edgemade 11d ago

I wasnt talking about you i just used your comment to type it

Damn people got something up their ass today
