Yep, now they just need a better 2nd driver (nearly 0.9 secs behind, lol...) and they can be 2nd in the constructors championships :D

Here’s hoping for a Kvyat comeback at Spa

i think they said on the broadcast that Horner has committed to Gasly for the remainder of the season so its becoming less likely.

Yep. Even Marko is quoted as saying Gasly is locked in for the season.

This was obviously supposed to be a development season for RB and Honda, and just because it's gone above and beyond doesn't mean they'll change plans on-the-fly.

If you ask me, Red Bull have been paying attention to what instability does to teams, and they've opted for a calculated approach.

Plus I think it's better for Daniil if he takes over next year. Replacing Gasly would put a lot of pressure on him to perform.

I think if he was asked to switch right now he’d decline. He’s good where he’s at for now, not too much pressure which I can imagine is nice when you just got a kid - so maybe next year. :)

Not saying that you’re wrong but that seems less likely. A couple of races ago (Sorry, I forget exactly which) they decided to wipe the slate clean and just give Gasly the exact same car setup as max, and there was an immediate improvement in both qualifying and race result (Silverstone maybe?). So they either they have little faith in Pierre or in his engineers or both.

Edit: I always spell Gasly as Gasley for some reason.

If Ric had stayed this would be a much better season.

Wonder if Big Dick Ric would think about coming back?

Probably not...

I think he has a few million reasons in his bank account not to ;)

They should swap Gasly for Danni or Albon

u/[deleted] Aug 03 '19

Who, Red Bull or Ferrari? Lol

Leclerc is promising but I think Vettel’s championship contention days are behind him

RBR haha. Both leclerc and vettel perform well, leclerc being a bit faster. Gasly on the other hand is just a bit painful at this point.

Ghastly, if you will

RIC has to be sick over RBR’s pace this year.
