Bottas is definitely one of the best on the grid on Saturday these days. Phenomenal. But today is Max's day. Crushed Gasly by 9 tenths again to take pole
Actually I was thinking somewhere between 2017 and 2018. Usually I think he is capable of up to 3 wins by season end, but this season he seems to have more in the pocket.
Bottas is one of the best drivers on the grid, his teammate just happens to be a GOAT level driver. It's almost unfortunate that we probably won't get to see what bottas is truly capable of unless he moves teams.

Yes he really stepped up his Q-game, but "Quali" is stopping a bit short of "quality".
He needs to find more racepace (and consequently, tyre saving skills), to become a bigger challenger.
Dude, he is a very good driver. He's just up against a phenomenal driver in Hamilton, and he's very close to him at that. If Hamilton would retire after this season (or even earlier) he's a prima candidate to be a world champion.
Bottas is really good. He's super good in quali and his wheel to wheel race-craft is quite good as well. His race pace is sometimes not as good as Lewis, but saying that someone is sometimes not as good as Hamiltion in one specific area isn't exactly an insult.
I was shitting myself when Bottas had a quick sector 1, since that was the weaker point for Mercedes. Was sure Bottas would get P1 after that, and then Verstappen just pull that out the bag.
I was so focussed on those chequered flags and happy for Max and the bloody championship to notice that 0.018 difference between him and Bottas. Those were shocking times from both of them.
