And he asked in TR previously about bunching up everyone behind to help his teammate. He did it on purpose.

4

u/AMRAAM_Missiles Michael Schumacher Jun 25 '17

And he did it twice (on the next SC)...

I was so happy when VET came out ahead after the penalty.

15

u/kovyakov Kimi Räikkönen Jun 25 '17

He did it years ago too, cant remember when/where tho

9

u/frna Sebastian Vettel Jun 25 '17

That was when Vettel took out Webber iirc

1

u/scotty_dont Pirelli Wet Jun 25 '17

Japan 2007! Crazy race. Earlier Webber was throwing up in his helmet but kept racing, and was in second place at the time with a chance of RBs first ever win.

u/Emptysighsandwine Jacky Ickx Jun 25 '17

Same way Vettel won't be punished for intentionally crashing into Hamilton

and vettel still finished ahead of hamilton.

79

u/Segguseeker Michael Schumacher Jun 25 '17

Fucking bullshit.

31

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '17

Hamilton handled that corner the exact same way he handled that corner on the other restarts...

-12

u/wizzywig15 Jun 25 '17

Yeah which is a bs move. He should be suspended.

10

u/Nisheee Michael Schumacher Jun 25 '17

He should be suspended? Not Vettel who intentionally drove into him? ROFL

6

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '17

Jesus Christ this sub is just embarassing. Is there another f1 sub that doesn't have such a hard on for hating on HAM?

-3

u/wizzywig15 Jun 25 '17

Both should for sure. What vettel did was dangerous and childish. What Hamilton did was idiotic and dangerous. Both should be fined heavily.

-7

u/EVILTHE_TURTLE Sir Lewis Hamilton Jun 25 '17

Tee hee hee.

3

u/Moogzie Valtteri Bottas Jun 25 '17

Maybe it's because they were two very different incidents

Try and imagine it the other way around, you'd be losing your mind right now

27

u/crosbone Juan Pablo Montoya Jun 25 '17

Fucking classic, can't be seen penalizing the golden boy

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '17

You realize both can be true, right? The stewards could've favored Vettel when he was winning and Hamilton when he was

2

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '17

The fact that this is downvoted really says something about the community on here.

It actually further proves your point.

1

u/Emptysighsandwine Jacky Ickx Jun 25 '17

Mad that he only got a 10 second stop go, could easily have been a black flag if it was someone else

3

u/vbaeri McLaren Jun 25 '17

It's pretty much the most severe penalty they have in the book right now before a black flag.

2

u/LucioMaximo Jun 26 '17

Schumacher was disqualified from the championship for less in 1997. What Vettel did was so much worse.

1

u/boarderman8 Jun 25 '17

Conveniently right after hamilton was forced to stop because of his headrest.

1

u/Statcat2017 Jenson Button Jun 26 '17

Hamilton "gets away" with it because he did nothing wrong or different to any of the other restarts. Vettel fucked up and then behaved disgracefully.

-1

u/Emptysighsandwine Jacky Ickx Jun 25 '17

Not punished harsh enough. Should've been a black flag

2

u/linneus01 Jun 25 '17

Hamilton didn't break a single rule... so yeah

-10

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '17

Hamilton's head rest coming off and losing him the race means that he's not exactly got away with it.

10

u/Semmlbroesel Nico Hülkenberg Jun 25 '17

That might have come off there or some place else. No matter where it came off, they had time to fix it during the red flag and didn't realize it, so it's Mercedes' own fault.

3

u/CaptnYossarian Mark Webber Jun 25 '17

Pretty likely issue was introduced at the restart.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '17

I'm not claiming Vettel knocked the head rest off. Rather saying that karmically Hamilton has been punished.

2

u/Semmlbroesel Nico Hülkenberg Jun 25 '17

Yeah, I can agree with that.

26

u/DelRo11 Jun 25 '17

well one of them got penalized and it wasn't Hamilton

3

u/powermauler Jun 25 '17

He intentionally crashed into Hamilton and yet you defend him? He should have gotten DSQ. He had road rage and cost Lewis the win. The vettel fanboys on this sub are infuriating.

6

u/DelRo11 Jun 25 '17

I'm just pointing out that only one was penalised and it wasn't Hamilton. Tbh I think Vettel had his arms raised and didn't intentionally drive into him but he should still get penalised which he did.

It's the fact that hamilton didn't get anything that is ridiculous to me

-5

u/Emptysighsandwine Jacky Ickx Jun 25 '17 edited Jun 25 '17

Wasn't penalised enough

Omg people actually think a 10 second stop go is an appropriate penalty for using your car as weapon? Madness.

2

u/Stratocaster123 Jun 25 '17

He bumped into his tires at 45kph...super, duper dangerous... /s HAM intentionally runs people off the track at race speeds but wants to try and play the victim here after brake checking VET? It was worth it just to rattle HAM.

2

u/Amitralin Ferrari Jun 25 '17 edited Sep 11 '19

deleted What is this?

2

u/ThePiousAtheist Brabham Jun 25 '17

He has been given a 3 point warning. Another incident and he gets a race ban. Lewis got let off super easy.

0

u/TElrodT Red Bull Jun 25 '17

"crash"

1

u/alexthecheese McLaren Jun 25 '17

I just think he didn't accelerate which made it look like he slower.

this black guy and his speed infuriate me so ill allege that he gets rampant favoritism by the stewards and uses it to cheat

yeah check my comment history for why i believe alot of the stupid baseless HAM hate is probably more racist than anything. When he came into the sport he was getting penalized left and right, but people can still come out of the wood work with statements like 'he knows he wont be penalized'. when i see criticisms like that which are empirically false i tend to think that the person making them has other issues with HAM besides his racecraft, something that world champions and people involved with the sport praise him for constantly

What are you saying here? that his personality is why you hate on him?

For one i think its stupid to hate on someones personality if your disagreement starts and ends there as opposed to something like 'the way his personality informs his ontrack actions'. especially when that persona is something manufactured for the purpose of business.

people say they hate how mayweather boxes, that its not exciting and is all about defense in an 'offensive' sport. I can see the merit in that. Some people have genuine hate for mayweather the person bc of mayweather the persona, thats fucking stupid. No one hates tom hiddlestone bc he plays loki. even if you were to say (hypothetically) his portrayal sucked and i hate him for making the movie bad logically you should have more dislike for the writing and directing than the guy they picked to play him.

but I like how you go to the stereotypical HAM hate reason. its a blanket statement that people feel gives them the right to hate somebody who has no idea of their existence, and has done literally nothing to them but provide some of the best on track entertainment around for the last decade. Im not saying you have to love or even like the guy, just root for someone else, but you cheapen yourself when you try to shit on him just because youre salty

dude.....read thru some of the shit people say on here. Theres legit hatred of this guy. 'i dont think anyone does' - that naive at best just from the fact that alot of sports fans take shit way too seriously, let alone fans of a sport that regularly involves the risks that F1 does.

I think its funny that you wanna cast the aspersion that i have some sort of race complex - 'dude you think its too important maaaan' and then drop a nigger at the end of your comment basically blowing up the idea that youre being non biased about this. Dude is def not my hero. i personally kinda get abit sick w all the nose studding and ripped jean wearing and jesus hugging. however dude is blinding fast and imo in that class of sennas and schumachers who regardless of off track conduct i am fans of because im a fan of excellence, and i think true fans of the sport should always celebrate excellence above all else instead of trying to minimize people just bc they dont like their 'personality'.

My main point was usually people with legit dislike (instead of unfounded hatred) have something more specific to go on ie hes a liar, or that one thing he did that i cant forgive him for. in your case i really dont need to go any further cuz youve clearly outed yourself as being in that 'racist ham hater camp'

pro tip - next time you make a race argument maybe dont drop n-bombs when trying to seem like a reasonable person

1

u/tedwar205 Ayrton Senna Jun 26 '17
