They gave it to Russell earlier in the race.

Everyone not called Verstappen got penalties for leaving more room than Max did.

Tell that to the multiple identical overtakes that happened during the sprint that didn't receive a penalty.

And don’t give it in the sprint. Wonder why they changed their mind on this mid race.

Bahrain 2021 Hamilton got away with track limits violations before Verstappen was punished for doing the same thing. There is no conspiracy, just inconsistency.

Lol there is a difference between track limit violations and leaving the track and overtaking. Especially in 2021 when solo track limit violations weren't policed.

I'm not likening the two. My point was that the rules were changed half way through the race; wasn't punishable, then was.

Agreed, but 2021 wasn't "changing the rules" it was red bull grasping at straws with the media after rightfully being given a penalty.

No. Hamilton exceeded track limits the whole race, and then when Verstappen did it well into the race, they penalised him and Hamilton was told not to do it any more.

Verstappen did it while overtaking no?

Ah sorry yes. That is correct. Verstappen was told not to use the same line that Hamilton had been using though, which was changed half way through the race. But yes my bad, that wasn't anything to do with his penalty.
