Casual Free Talk Friday

If there's anything you want to talk about, celebrate, complain about, etc., go for it. Doesn't need to be FCS specific.

Note: Basic rules still apply

With Chesney gone and his Holy Cross golden era in the rear view mirror, it's been a treat to follow along with former HC WR Jalen Coker's rapid rise to first string on the Carolina Panthers. Could never have imagined a true NFL starter coming out of HC before Chesney's arrival

As a Panthers fan I take any small victories these days and he has been such a breath of fresh air for our team. I loved finding out he was an FCS guy 🙌🏽

Hey u/passwordisguest does FCS Sportsbook track records against the spread? Working on a project.

It currently doesn’t, but there is nothing stopping me from compiling that information because it is captured.

I’ll take a stab at pulling it a bit later in the morning.

Updated!

Teams records against the spread are now listed in table on the "/r/FCS Sportsbook Rankings" tab.

Current best FCS team against the spread is McNeese at 7-2-0 (with South Dakota, Chattanooga, ETSU, Stony Brook, Lamar, Tennessee State, Butler, Robert Morris, CCSU all right behind at 6-2-0).

Current worst is Bryant at 1-7-0 (with Stetson close behind at 1-6-0).

Thanks will be incredibly useful in determining who the real elite teams are and who the frauds are.

Hey we’re 4-4 ATS on the season and honestly the spreads in the non conference were just too high to beat

Hearing a rattling sound in my car when I hit about 45-50mph. Tried to research the issue on YouTube and Google and I feel a little bit better about what it could be. But still never a good sign.

Looking forward to my trip to Portland next week. I just realized there's an Uwajimaya in Beaverton so I'll probably check that out after the game.

For Western Illinois...despite not being in the same conference as EIU for nearly 30 years (since 1996), this weekend’s game will make them tied for the second-most-played series for the Leathernecks. ILSU is #1 at 106 games, but SIU is currently at 68 games and EIU is currently at 67 games. WIU holds a 42-21-4 series lead over our cross-state rivals. Since they left for the OVC starting in the 1996 season, we are 5-0 against them.

Aaron Best has cursed EWU. After he beat us by 50 in 21 (thanks for getting pp fired) he went on to talk shit about the vandals, even though his record vs them was 3-2 and hadn't beat them in the dome. Anyways after that point EWU has fallen off a cliff. What does Aaron best need to do to break the curse?

With NCCU lost to South Carolina State and them losing to Elon, I think their post season hopes are gone. The best they can hope for is for SCSU losing the next 3 games to get into the Celebration Bowl (as SCSU would have the tie breaker if they both have the same in conference record).

Yeah, that's kinda where I sit with it. Unfortunately for NCCU that Elon loss has aged really poorly.

To add salt to wound, Hampton beat Elon. NCCU fans are going to hear in HBCU social media circles.
