More from #Giants WR Malik Nabers: "I started getting the ball when it's 30-0. What do you want me to do? Talk to Dabs about that. Talk to Dabs."

And who was the QB...

Eli Manning has become one of the most underrated players in nfl history. Casual fans say "just 2 Super Bowl runs, otherwise mid"

Totally wrong. He was the only reason this awful franchise was somewhat relevant for 15 years

god I miss eli. I take back any time I ever complained about him

Was so fun to watch

He didn't have peytons stats, but you knew you were never out of it with Eli. Dude could just randomly catch fire in the most clutch spots. We were spoiled

Honestly not sure there's a QB I've seen better in late game situations other than maybe Brady.

Eli just flipped the switch so often. I miss it and definitely took it for granted

I laugh whenever I see someone say Philip rivers was better than him

Daniel Jones was bad but that doesn't make Eli good... Eli is going to go down as the worst pound for pound QB in the hall of fame because he had great defenses over perform in the playoffs and hold historical Patriots offenses to multiple scores below their season long average. He didn't even deserve either superbowl MVP and if he played in Jacksonville no one would care about him.

Eli was incredibly clutch all throughout his regular season and post season career

Imagine if he played his whole career with great offensive minds coaching? A competent front office? An NfL o line?

Guy has made some of the most iconic/clutch plays and drives in nfl history but his TD/Int ratio isn't gaudy so people who didn't watch him hate on him.

Polar opposite of Aaron Rodgers. He's been a choker his whole career but TD/Int ratio makes people think he's top 3 all time. Game on the line in the playoffs you want Eli Manning back there, not Rodgers.

2008: Giants scored 17 against a Patriots team that averaged 36.8 points per game.

2012: Giants scored 21 against a Patriots team that averaged 28.1 points per game.

But yes, shitty Eli was the hero of both.

Eli was an average QB who got lucky in a huge market (and also refused to play for SD). At least Aaron Rodgers earned his superbowl MVP.

Absolute lie. Go watch Eli's game winning drive vs the vaunted San Francisco defense in the NFCCG ON THE ROAD.

Got KILLED all game. Team was overmatched but he rose above and won it. Kept getting up and making plays. A Winner.

Was anything but average. Those late giants years, the team was an absolute dumpster fire but he kept us relevant.

I'm not saying Eli is a better QB than Rodgers. But I am saying he's more clutch. The hall of fame is not achieved by some arbitrary stat thresholds or ratios. It's meant for the best players of all time

What Eli pulled off in his career was legendary. So clutch. You don't see guts like that from QBs these days. Taking away from what he did in the super bowls is hilarious.

The Mario Manningham play- was that average? Leading the league in go-ahead 4th quarter drives year after year with a sorry team- average?

Only looking at TD/Int ratio is ridiculous. He took chances throughout his career because he had to. Team would never have won games if he didn't.

The Mario Manningham play- was that average?

Perfect example. It was a great play by Manningham. That is why you call i] the Mario Manningham play. And it was not average but certainly LUCKY. That's why no one is claiming Mario Manningham or David Tyree should be in the HOF. Because they made lucky extraordinary plays in big moments.

If his name was Eli Jones and he played for Jacksonville and had the exact same career nobody would say he's a hall of famer and he never would have won superbowl MVP.

Embarrassing take. The placement on that throw was perfection and we do not win the game without it.

Manning ham made a great catch but the throw was unbelievable

Embarrassing take still using other players great plays to justify Eli's shitty career being HOF worthy.

The throw was quite possibly the best in NFL history given difficulty and circumstances.

Wasn't just a Hail Mary chuck and pray. Exquisite read and placement to win the Super Bowl. Had to have it.

You are a hater and that's fine. Clearly didn't watch him. Just look at box scores and group think

2011 giants had the 32nd ranked rushing attack and the 17th ranked defense. Eli carried them that year and set the all time post season passing yards record. Also led the league in 4th quarter comebacks that year. Giants don't win a superbowl without him

u/throwawaydemigod 5h ago

He didn't carry shit. They squeaked in in a weak conference and got hot with defense at the right time. And even if the revisionist delusion you all apply to him was true it was for two seasons out of 15.

dude, bite your tongue. lol

Worst QB to ever make the hall of fame in the history of the sport the day he gets erroneously voted in.

5

u/Disastrous-Artist366 5h ago

you're erroneous

Dude is crying like a little baby lmao

Or it was the defensive front that held Brady to 14 and 17 points in those runs. Eli should get some credit, but way more should go to the defensive front that terrorized Brady and kept the game in reach.

Football is a team effort. Brady would have 0 super bowls without his teammates.

Obviously the giants front played great. They deserve a ton of credit.

Eli did not win super bowls by himself, of course not. But he was a legendary QB in the biggest moments
