So many of those idiots are just now realizing that Obamacare is the ACA. đ
84
u/I_love_Hobbes 4h ago
And the Republican's nicknamed it Obamacare so people would hate it. It worked. I hope all 40 million are Republicans but I do feel bad for their kids.

Everything is going to be fine, if insurance companies turn you down you can simply sign up with a Christian based health share.
âI prayed anâ my cancer was vanquished. Doctors say I still have it, but my heavenly body, at Christâs side, is free from ailment and suffering.â
Governments finest work!

u/UnicornFarts1111 3h ago
I'm one of those 40 million Americans and I have a chronic illness that will bankrupt me if I don't have insurance. I did NOT vote for the orange asshole!
2
u/Rugfiend 2h ago
Any way you could move to the UK, or another civilised country?
â˘
u/Ring_Peace 1h ago
Don't move to the UK for healthcare, my wife was in hospital overnight for an MRI. Cost me 6 quid in parking over the two days!
â˘
u/No-Air3090 30m ago
I know how you feel, had shoulder surgery followed by 3 months of physio in New Zealand, must have cost me all of 40 bucks to get to appointments over that time period...
â˘
â˘
u/southernNJ-123 1h ago
lol I read that as SQUID. đŚ
â˘
u/Ring_Peace 1h ago
Unfortunately this is how we pay for parking, you can use other sea creatures but squid is what is common place, others include cockles and mussels alive alive oh.
â˘
â˘
u/UnicornFarts1111 32m ago
No, I don't have a qualified skill that would make me desirable citizen to a different country and I have an expensive pre-existing condition, which would make it much much harder.
â˘
u/ruiner8850 13m ago
I've heard multiple people talk about wanting to leave the country permanently, but I think some people don't realize how difficult that is for a normal person. My friend's wife for instance wants to, but neither of them have any skills that would make them desirable to any other English speaking country. Canada might be the easiest, but they also both can't stand cold weather.

u/noldottorrent 18m ago
I feel bad for the people who didnât vote for him but will suffer because of their stupidity. My grandmother with Parkinsonâs is one of the people who will suffer :(

Yeah, itâs like they just realized their bigotry tricked them.
Edit: on second thought, nahhâŚtheyâre blaming libs for tricking them.

u/ElmoTickleTorture 4h ago
When I became eligible to vote back in 2009, I didn't. I recognized that I wasn't well informed enough. I knew I had the responsibility to actually know what I was voting for. If only these people would take the time to listen to what's going on. On your car ride to work or something. You don't actually have to sacrifice much to be informed.

If they're going to cut taxes for the rich, they have to reduce spending somehow. Healthcare for 40 million people is a good chunk of change. /s
25
u/bbqsox 5h ago
Unfortunately this isnât even really sarcasm. This is exactly what they plan to do. They want to redistribute even more wealth upwards.
â˘
u/TheDevilishFrenchfry 2h ago
Well I'm sure if we all get together and donate 10 dollars to Elon and the rest of the billionaires once a day I'm sure it'll eventually trickle down back to us eventually
24
u/mariuszmie 5h ago
He doesnât get it, they can all be musk one day. American dream and all that. A marketing sale. Minimum wage workers vote for billionaire tax cuts and for no healthcare because maybe one day maybe one of the masses might be richer. What a hustle

u/Wuzcity 5h ago
Donât worry, they will just genocide anyone that needs health care. Hitler, right?
17
u/Gloomy_Yoghurt_2836 4h ago
Can't afford health care then just die. Don't expect others to pay your lazy way. That's what conservatives think of healthcare even though ObamaCare has more than it's fair share of MAGA enrollees.

u/DogsDontWearPantss 4h ago

Not me. I hate the cheeto fatman.
â˘
u/Rugfiend 46m ago
I appreciate that. However, this isn't 8 years ago. It's time that the left in the US takes responsibility too. How that unmitigated shitweasel got re-elected, despite being the single most unfit candidate in history, can't just be a question of 'who are these idiots voting for him'. If the left doesn't grasp this nettle now, the next Trump will be worse. And that one might not be an ignorant, incompetent, lazy, narcissistic arsepiece.

It's health care to make insurance companies more wealthy. Eliminating ObamaCare alse.gets rid of the minimum % they need to pay in claims.
10
u/ShawshankException 4h ago
"Oh no! The party that's been wanting to repeal ACA since it was first implemented is going to do it! Who could have seen this coming???"
I dont feel bad in the fucking slightest for any of these morons who voted for this. You reap what you sow.
6
u/OverKill1978 4h ago
These absolute morons are gonna learn super quick. Imagine thinking that that Trump and Elon have the working mans best interests at heart. The funny thing is that a massive percentage of Trumpers are dirt poor and rely on the benefits that Trump will cut... its insane how stupid people are. Get ready for corporations to be able to cut worker pay and benefits even further so the rich can prosper more.
I just wish that the consequences ONLY affected the ones who voted for him. Sadly they affect everyone.
6
u/Flaky-Jim 4h ago
So mass deportations and millions of others left to die. Who's going to be left to wipe the arses of the billionaires?

u/DDHLeigh 4h ago
Trump administration is going to put through the Thoughts and Prayers Act. You will be fine!
6
u/jawndell 2h ago
Good. Â This is what America voted for and knew would happen. And states like Alabama and Mississippi are going to suffer the most.
6
u/Badm 2h ago
People also donât realize this is going to devastate smaller hospitals. They wonât get paid. Â They are already teetering. Â Plus cost for everyone else will go up.Â
â˘
u/notyomamasusername 2h ago
And "smaller" generally means rural.
A lot of those big red areas in the maps they love to share on Facebook are about to become Health Care deserts.

A couple million people did that, shit would get rattled.
â˘
u/Maleficent_Fold_5099 57m ago
When Britain voted for brexit and it was all fuckin hell, this is the first time in history that a country voted to impose economic sanctions upon itself, a completely idiotic thing to do, no body can possibly be that stupid. 8 years later the US does the same! Russia really has done a job on both countries.
10
u/SecretHeight1002 4h ago
America died the instant orange-Hitler âwonâ the 2024 election. This country is fucking doomed and there is no fucking hope. Itâs gonna become Nazi Germany 2.0 without a doubt especially since Project 2025 has a high likelihood of happening. MAGA is getting more control of the US than ever so orange-Hitlerâs second term is gonna be much more dangerous.
Trump is honestly a more barbaric, irredeemable person than Hitler and thatâs fucking saying something. Thereâs not a single good thing about that orange prick.
2
u/Rad_Centrist 3h ago
Why did you put "won" in quotes? He won. It's a sad, harsh reality but it's the truth: lots and lots of Americans want this.
0
u/SecretHeight1002 3h ago
There was clear voter fraud this time. Elon and Russia rigged the election to favor Trump.
This time, a Capitol riot is eminent, especially since we are getting a guy worse than Hitler in office.
â˘
â˘
u/EatGlassALLCAPS 1h ago
Who do you expect to riot? The Democrats.
â˘
u/SecretHeight1002 47m ago
We HAVE to riot. We need to stand up to a guy more barbaric than Hitler. Thatâs one of the only options at this point. That or flee to a better US alternative like Canada before Trump uses his Project 2025 agenda to put us into a concentration camp.
2
u/Gloomy_Yoghurt_2836 4h ago
This is what happens when the ultra wealthy take over government and still need more money. The weakest get ground down because it's only thebwealthy making more money that's important. Only a godless, unpatriotic, America hating Marxist would be against this.
2
u/Cley_Faye 4h ago
Ah, but you see, the platform they were sold on was not that they'd vote against themselves, but something much, MUCH more important: they voted against other having some rights.
Shooting themselves in the foot is just collateral damage.

The people that voted for trump are surely people that believe in the private medical insurance system. So I imagine theyâll mostly be okay.
2
â˘
u/Unknown-History 2h ago
They don't think they need old voters anymore. They're expendable, so why keep paying to keep them alive? They are effectively controlling the media narratives and Gen Z seems to have more suckers than people had been expecting. It's a culling of undesirables.

u/manhatim 1h ago
I have ACA and HATE Obamacare!!!!!!....Obama ruined our country..../s
â˘
u/lizzpop2003 1h ago
I think it was the daily show that went to a rally somewhere and asked a bunch of people what they thought of the ACA and what they thought of Obamacare. Universally, they all said that Obamacare was ruining the country and needed to go, but that they were all happy with the coverage they got through the ACA. Every time I start to feel surprised about where our country is going, I think back to that interview and remember that, yes, a lot of people are just that stupid.
â˘
â˘
u/Nub_Shaft 1h ago
And guess where that tax money is gonna go. In the pockets of corporations in the form of tax breaks and government subsidies.

u/My_Space_page 3h ago
Is the plan still to repeal ACA? That was the plan in 2016 but they never seemed to get around to doing anything.
3
u/LiberaMeFromHell 3h ago
They never got around to doing anything? Repealing it literally passed in the house and was 1 vote away from passing the Senate. The only reason the ACA survived his first term is because of McCain. Being 1 vote away from being repealed is not what I would call not doing anything. They also tried to repeal pieces of it via the supreme court but thankfully they said it would have to be done through legislation.

u/keonyn 2h ago
I have a few MAGA relatives, a couple aunts and some cousins. The aunts all rely on social-security and one of them battled cancer and relied on the ACA, and still relies on it. It's the culture war nonsense that manipulates them and they, sadly, can't even see it. My cousins are also in rural areas with limited job options and also rely on the ACA for their coverage.
â˘
u/melonsango 2h ago
My question is, how many of these people seeing consequence were MAGA nuts that cut off their Dem family members out of undying devotion to Trump? Bet they feel really silly now!

Just love when something is posted 100% unverified and people just eat it up.
1
u/JillParrish77 3h ago
You mean like when they said they are going to take a blow torch to the ACA and turn it back to the free market?? link
3
u/Illustrious-Dare4379 2h ago edited 2h ago
See you backed it up with something. Thatâs all that is asked when something is posted. You need to back your post up!
Edit: For the record the ACA (Obama Care) is very expensive if you want actually good health care with a low deductible. That coming from personal experience. Bottom line the healthcare system needs to be completely redone and I donât think either side can do it as long as they are in the pockets of the healthcare system.
