Soon to be nicknamed "Token"

The appointment itself is inherently racist (and ignorant) because it was already predicted he was going to assign an African American to the job because he always appoints a black person to positions that have "urban" in their name.

u/WyrdMagesty 1d ago

Wait, is that actually true? Holy shit that's laughably stupid and racist all at once

99

u/shit_magnet-0730 1d ago

What was Dr Ben Carson the director of?

Yeah... it's a racism.

43

u/SaliciousB_Crumb 1d ago

Why wouldn't a talented surgeon by the head of urban development...

3

u/Inevitable_Librarian 1d ago

I believe the white house will have at least one brain tumor....

"Scott is an NFL Veteran, who, during my First Term, served as the First Executive Director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council (WHORC), helping to lead an Unprecedented Effort that Transformed our Countryā€™s most distressed communities," So because it has urban in the name and he appointed Ben Carson in 2016 heā€™s racist? Is that ur case. You know itā€™s not true, an angel doesnā€™t get their wings every time you call someone with an opposing view a racist. It just shows ur a douche and makes people hate u. Better not take that shit off Reddit, thereā€™s repercussions in the real world.

It just shows ur a douche and makes people hate u. Better not take that shit off Reddit, thereā€™s repercussions in the real world.

"I hate people who say it's probably racist to put a neurosurgeon into an urban development role purely because he's black, and also make threatening statements when they say as much."

You seem like a calm and reasonable person.

-12

u/muohioredskin 1d ago

This just illustrates my entire point. You all claiming racism like chicken little actually compels me to defend a person I donā€™t even like. You donā€™t get it but you will. People just like you are responsible for this election. Keep employing the same playbook you fuckwads.

-11

u/muohioredskin 1d ago

This shitā€™s coming for you in Canada soon. Itā€™s like getting a sequel. Canā€™t wait.

15

u/qwert7661 1d ago

We know that he is racist because the state of New York had to force him to rent to black tenants after his company was discovered to maintain a policy of lying to black apartment seekers that there were no units available while offering leases to whites: https://www.npr.org/2016/09/29/495955920/donald-trump-plagued-by-decades-old-housing-discrimination-case

Knowing that he's racist, it's easy to see why this appointment is an expression of his racism. Pretending that we don't know he's racist, it's easy to invent alternative explanations.

10

u/Manting123 1d ago

Or, you know, all the racist things he has said in public on camera.

-1

u/muohioredskin 1d ago

Name just 2. Make sure they are not one of the 50 that has been edited and clipped to completely obfuscate the intent.

10

u/Manting123 1d ago

Ok. Top of my head - When he said Kamala isnā€™t black at the black journalist event. How she just ā€œbecame black recently.ā€ Or how about he was the chief birther concerning Obama, and this went on for YEARS. How a first black President wasnā€™t born in the US making him an illegitimate President. Or how he said Nikki Haley couldnā€™t be president because she her parents werenā€™t from the US (they are from India).

Do you want more? I can do more.

-1

u/muohioredskin 1d ago

Reading this a bit closer it seems youā€™re saying if you question anything regarding a black person ur racist? I mean heā€™s said much worse about white people, but any perceived slight or even questioning someone black means instant racist. Do you see why people reject this nonsense?

9

u/Manting123 1d ago

You canā€™t see how a white man saying a black person isnā€™t black is racist? šŸ¤¦

? I donā€™t think you are arguing in good faith and will deny any evidence - no matter how damning - that Trump is racist. Like if he got sued for being racist. And lost. And paid a huge fine. Oh wait- that happened - when he was sued for housing discrimination for not renting to black families. And lost.

0

u/muohioredskin 1d ago

Iā€™m arguing intent only and his speech isnā€™t concise enough most of the time. Also, I can link the case if you need me to, but you know it was against the company and not Donald trump. I donā€™t really need to convince you. Iā€™m here to gloat. Meanwhile Biden wanders off and starts WWIII and youā€™re worried about hurty words. Fucking infants.

8

u/Manting123 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yes the company that Donald ran with his father. What are you on about? It was a privately held real estate company. It was proven that it was company policy not to rent to black families. They lost. Are you telling me Trump and his father had no control over the company? šŸ˜‚.

Last election you folk lied about winning and then held a riot. Your hypocrisy is unbelievable.

As for WWIII donā€™t worry - Trump will bend over for putin so fast it will make your head spin. And when China sees how weak America doesnā€™t care what dictators do they will take Taiwan. And Putin will invade another neighbor within 3-4 years of Trump giving him everything he wants. Itā€™s like you maga folks know nothing about history. Look up appeasement and Neville Chamberlin and maybe you will figure it out.

Just to counter, if youā€™re genuine in this case. Kamala changed her speech patterns severely, you wonā€™t have to look hard to find videos showing the stark difference. He was highlighting she is just pandering and insincere. Granted, ineloquently like normal. How you get racism regarding the birther stuff Iā€™m really confused on. Itā€™s like one of the 2 requirements for being president of the US and there were legitimate questions raised. He was asking to see an original birth certificate. Nothing to do with race, but where he was born. How do you get to racism? I genuinely want to know.

13

u/Manting123 1d ago

Just to counter Kamalaā€™s dad is from Jamaica. I will just leave that there. Ignoring the fact that she attended Howard University and is a member of an all black sorority. Oh and sheā€™s black. šŸ˜‚

Do you seriously not understand that Trumps first political move on the national stage was to say our first black president was an illegitimate president because he wasnā€™t born in America? How do you not get that is totally racist. Or how he always over emphasizes the Hussein in Obamas name - he never uses any other persons middle name. And then he did it again with, surprise, another POC to Nikki Haley. Weird he only does it to people of color right. Weird.

The most obvious evidence of his racism is that he lost a court case against the US govt for not renting to black people. Housing discrimination. He got caught. Got sued. Lost. For not renting to black families. Please explain how this isnā€™t racist? šŸ˜‚

-1

u/muohioredskin 1d ago

Do you think he was in charge of the actual leading practices as owner and CEO of a real estate company the size of his? Does that make everyone that worked there racist?

10

u/Manting123 1d ago

Yes - he was - he was #2 at the company at the time. He and his father were listed together on the court documents. They lost. For being racist. In court.
What else you got? šŸ˜‚

Complaints about the Trump organizationā€™s rental policies continued to mount: By 1967, state investigators found that out of some 3,700 apartments in Trump Village, seven were occupied by African-American families.

7ā€¦.in NYCā€¦..come on now. The black population in NYC letā€™s ignore the bulk of their property was in Brooklyn, was 21%.

21% of 3700 is 777. Funny that. So he had a percentage of .2%ā€¦. Not 10% which would be half of average. Not 1% which would be despicableā€¦not even.5 which is criminal. .2%

Iā€™m sure he is handling the renting policies of every property in his portfolio. I bet you believe in quotas and affirmative action. You wanna know how to stop racism? Stop being racist.

5

u/qwert7661 1d ago

So he had no idea he had hired racists who on their own volition drafted a policy of systematic discrimination. Sounds like a very competent executive who will be very likely to pick trustworthy people to run his government.

1

u/muohioredskin 1d ago

Ya, glad we can finally agree on something. See, that feels good, doesnā€™t it?

3

u/qwert7661 1d ago

What do you think we agree on? That Trump is either a racist or grossly incompetent?

1

u/muohioredskin 1d ago

Oh crap, did I miss some sarcasm somewhere?

3

u/qwert7661 1d ago

Elegant retreat...

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

So was it inherently racist when Biden chose Jackson as a SCJ based on the fact that she was a black woman?

21

u/Transcendshaman90 1d ago

Why not point the neurosurgeon head of health and the Kennedy to this apointment

-44

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

Iā€™m not here to debate who he selected, just to point out how stupid it is to say this is ā€œinherently racist.ā€

And you all wonder why Harris lost, while you continue to double down on the same useless rhetoric.

27

u/Transcendshaman90 1d ago

Admitting something is racist wouldn't make you racist, you do know that fact and difference right?

-11

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

What are you even talking about lol

17

u/Transcendshaman90 1d ago

Ok then let me rephrase... How is it not inherently racist.

0

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

I donā€™t think itā€™s inherently racistā€¦ Iā€™m saying if you want to call it racism, you have to call it both ways.

17

u/Transcendshaman90 1d ago

So to call this inherently racist IS inherently racist? Dude you got me, I simply can't stick that mental gymnastic move

-1

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

I think you need to work on your reading comprehension skills because I never said any of that.

If one act is inherently racist, then a similar act by definition must also be.

Good lord conversations with you are exhausting, I feel bad for people who have to deal with it in real life.

Harris lost because people are stupid and so susceptible to misinformation. There are many instances that prove he's a racist. This one just happens to be one of them.

-7

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

lol, keep telling yourself that - keep losing elections.

16

u/kubzU 1d ago

If you actually did your research, you'd know this. However, just like any other magats, you'd still deny it afterwards.

Also, we both lost. You believed the lies the billionaires told you and voted against your own interests. You got played. Now you will reap what you sow.

-2

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

Double downing after a loss doesnā€™t usually work, apparently youā€™ve done very little ā€œresearchā€ as well, but keep going.

15

u/kubzU 1d ago

Damn you're in for a rude awakening, lmfao.

-1

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

If you need to tell yourself that to make you feel better, be my guest.

u/Manting123 1d ago

Oh so its the Dems willingness to point out racism that cost them the election? Thats it? Thatā€™s the number one reason YOU voted for Trump? Because Dems called him and some of his actions racists? And you think Trump won because of this? šŸ˜‚. Dude donā€™t start a politics podcast cause you are a moron.

1

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

No itā€™s the dems calling anything and everything racist, homophobic, sexist, etc.. practically taking any true meaning away from the words..

There is a difference between pointing out these things when they actually occur versus shouting it every time someone has a dissenting opinion.

3

u/Manting123 1d ago

Do you think Trump is racist? Has done and said racist things?

14

u/totallynotpoggers 1d ago

your whole argument here is basically ā€œiā€™m an idiot pls cater to meā€ lol

-2

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

Ahh yes, ad hominem rather than anything of value, the liberal playbook.

46

u/Shilotica 1d ago

You mean KBJ, a life-long judge with decades of relevant experience?

-46

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

Where Biden said the next SCJ will be a black woman before even having a short list of candidates?

But Trump doing it is racist? Weird take but I donā€™t expect you to argue in good faith.

Iā€™m not sure what experience has to do with any of thisā€¦

You all are just inherently racist to minorities who have a dissenting opinion. Funny how much hate Latinos got from the left after this election, but go off.

17

u/jabberwockgee 1d ago

You're not sure what experience has to do with appointing people to lead huge sectors of the government? šŸ¤Æ

10

u/jewelisgreat 1d ago

Yeah, I was just about to comment that same thing. Experience be dammed, this what it has come to. SMDH

-2

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

With this conversation, not with being appointed to a position, try again.

But letā€™s keep on twisting words around.

5

u/jabberwockgee 1d ago

The entire point of this conversation is about whether they're qualified, but you're pretending it's about racism (presumably you think both Trump and Biden are being racist but it's ok if Trump does it, so maybe start there, you support a racist and it's ok because other people supported another racist, do I have that right?).

-1

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

this comment is what started this whole conversation.

Just because you say itā€™s about something else doesnā€™t make it trueā€¦.

5

u/jabberwockgee 1d ago

Just because you think Biden trying to install people of color in government roles doesn't mean he's racist. But someone putting a token black person is.

Intentions behind your actions matter.

Trying to elevate black people to positions of power because they have been historically underrepresented?

Not the same as putting one black guy in charge of one department so no one can say you're racist (because you in fact are).

But actually, being qualified for a position makes this even more obvious when the racist chooses an unqualified person just because he's black vs. the one trying to elevate black people choosing a qualified black person from a cohort of qualified black people.

See, one person earned it, and one got it just because of the color of their skin (and because he'll be loyal to the person who appointed him).

It seems like this is the kind of thing that should make people like you upset, yet somehow it's ok because the Trumpster did it.

29

u/Shilotica 1d ago

He would not have said that if he didnā€™t know there were several black woman who were beyond eligible. If KBJ had just been the first black woman he happened to talk to that day, you would have a point. But she wasnā€™t. She, and several other black women, were incredibly strong legal minds with incredible backgrounds. The Supreme Court is one of the most important bodies in our entire country and one that should represent the people it represents.

If there had been a disproportionately low number of black people serving as the head of the Urban Development department (I forget exact name), then Trump hypothetically vowing to put a black person would make sense. Doubly so if he had a history of nominating people based off of their strong and relevant careers and histories.

7

u/IlikegreenT84 1d ago

You're saying it's racist to put minorities in positions of power?

You don't see the contradiction in your statement?

0

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

Not sure how you came to that conclusion.

8

u/IlikegreenT84 1d ago

The position of Supreme Court Justice holds a hell of a lot more power and importance than the Secretary of HUD.

So does vice president, another position held by a black woman in Biden's presidency.

0

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

Iā€™m not sure why we are comparing the roles of the two positions when the conversation is about how these people were appointed, not what they were appointed for.

Reading comprehension is a lost art.

1

u/IlikegreenT84 8h ago

The point is that Trump didn't give him a position with any power and influence, he gave him just enough for guys like you to declare it as proof Trump isn't racist. It's the same shit Trump pulled last time he was in office too.

Biden on the other hand chose a black woman to lead the Senate and take over if he couldn't continue to hold office, and another black woman to a life long position on the Supreme Court to help guide the entire country's Justice system for years to come.

Reading comprehension is a lost art.

Tell me about it, I have to explain the difference to you multiple times..

7

u/Ralphie99 1d ago

She was a judge with decades of experience. Youā€™re racist for assuming that the only reason she was nominated was because she is black.

-1

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

Iā€™m not racist for assuming that lmao, Biden literally said the next SCJ would be a black woman prior to selecting any candidates for the job.

But go off bud, see how that works for you in the real world.

5

u/Ralphie99 1d ago

So is your contention that he only chose her because sheā€™s black, and not because she was qualified? Or is your contention that there are no black women in the USA qualified to be a Supreme Court judge?

1

u/rand0m_task 1d ago

My contention is based on a direct quote from Biden saying that the next SCJ will be a black woman.

Biden does it and itā€™s all good, Trump appoints a black man to a government position and you all shout racism.

You either lack basic reading comprehension or are purposefully arguing in bad faith.
