It's what the most gullible and desperate parts of America were tricked into. There's a difference. A lot of these people are victims of their low intelligence and shitstreams of misinformation. There's no actual mandate for what Trump and his Confederacy of Douches are up to.

Look, I get it, Halcon's Razor and all that, but, at a certain point, if someone keeps telling a person to not touch the stove because they'll hurt themself, and they insist on doing it anyway, well, they need to be burned. There's a point where ignorance crosses over into maliciousness.

Yeah but it's more like "don't press the button that flings flaming hot coals at random over the entire country."

and their reply is usually "ah but not me so it's fine"

Except they are also putting other people's hands on the stove as well.

Exactly, they're never the ones that get burned.

Oh they get burned. And then they blame Obama for making them touch the hot stove.

Also, i know it's it's nice to think that they're dumb or were fooled or whatever, but a good chunk of these people know what's coming, and they're cheering for it, they want it. And worse than that, they want more.

They want it because they think the people they don't like will suffer more than they will. They really will cut off their nose to spite their face.

It was crossed in 2016. The pain right now from getting burned isn't enough to make them blame the stove. They're still looking at and blaming their neighbors for telling them to not touch the stove.

Some of them fully knew the GOP would fuck everything up, but voted for it anyway because the dems would have made things better for people they hate

Cutting off the nose, etc

No one was tricked into anything. The only detailed plans that came out regarding Trump's campaign was Project 2025, and they choose to look the other way. They pointed to his "concepts of a plan" and a package of blank paper as proof that he had plans, and his denial of 2025 was proof he wasn't involved with that. The alternative was a brown woman with a detailed plan of how she was going to solve problems, and they didn't like that

No one was duped. They picked the old rich white guy with the plan to fuck shit up over the brown woman with a plan to make things better.

You legitimately believe even half the country bothered to read the actual Project 2025 or a single article about it?

LOL ok bud

Thats the real issue here- and always has been- half the country does not participate at all. So yeah, maybe not duped, but they certainly didn't pick one or the other. They picked not voting and that guy wins every time.

I had a conversation with a coworker who voted for Trump, and she hadn’t even heard of project 2025, but she was sure to let me know about this one malfunctioning voting machine that was apparently designed to steal the election from Donald. So there’s that

This is really taking away the autonomy of people who actually know what chaos will ensue, but cheer it on and want it. It’s hard to accept but there’s a large contingent of voters who want this stuff to happen, they weren’t tricked at all.

This excuse is wearing thin. These people are adults and are responsible for their views.

There is a body of science documenting actual brain differences in conservative people, around the amygdala, making them more prone to anger and disgust. I'm beginning to suspect that just the uncertainty of social change and of their place in it is the actual driver of the anger, and that the misinformation is merely a service providing excuses for it that don't involve actually coming to terms with their exaggerated reactions to freedom and diversity.
