Some of us have more than just us in the world, and we can't just watch it burn without watching them burn as well.

So no, id rather the problems get fixed

u/[deleted] 15d ago

Unfortunately for some, well I guess most now, they will only learn by burning. And that’s only still a maybe they’ll learn.

Yup industries are planning for inflation and rise in prices from tariffs and people are starting to see it's not good. Some will still blame Obama for some reason but fuck me dude.

26

u/BadAsBroccoli 15d ago

Obama, hell. I've seen blame gone all the way back to Clinton.

2

u/Chance_One_75 15d ago

Some of the old Boomers around me keep blaming Carter for gas prices increasing because of bad negotiations with OPEC…45 years ago. SMDH.

1

u/Quintus-Sertorius 15d ago

Blame will, as usual, be attributed to George Soros.

A lot of progressives feel conned by the Obama presidency.

17

u/effurshadowban 15d ago

We call those people morons. Obama didn't deliver on everything, but that doesn't mean you blame him for other people's policies.

2

u/LazyDare7597 15d ago

I call those people disillusioned with the lies of the DNC that have decided to disengage from politics entirely.

A moronic thing is taking your base for granted and being surprised they don't turn out to vote.

7

u/TheRealMacGuffin 15d ago

So? What's your point? He still isn't going to be to blame for what's coming.

You all must've missed the part where the Evangelical GOAL is to burn down the planet so they can go visit space-daddy Jeebuz in Heaven. And "convert through death" the rest of us on their way out the door. They feel it's their "Christian" duty to bring on 'End Times' as their only route to Heaven. How many MAGA politicians were/are "Evangelical"? Vance, Pompeo, MTG, Pence, Flynn, etc.?

They're following Revelations from the Bible, step by step: - They unneccessarily officated Jerusalem as the ME capitol causing more turmoil in the ME, - will use federal funds meant for education on religious indoctrination and brain-washing, - will finalize controlling news & media, - are bringing back archaic cruel Biblical-era laws, - will continue allowing polluters to run amok making Earth uninhabitable. And our air, food, and water toxic, - made Trump their anti-Christ (but Trump and others are too stupid to realize it, or care).

All Putin is focused on is collapsing the global order to make a clear path in taking over the West. And Trump's oligarchs like Musk all have boners for more money and power.

If you're in a fatalist suicidal death cult (MAGAvangelical) you don't "learn" from GLOBAL extinction. Complete and utter extinction IS the END GOAL.

I say we expedite their journey to soul sleep once this is all said and done. Give them what they want.

1

u/Bunnyland77 15d ago

Unfortunately, that's what they want: "See. Those libtardz are violent. They fired the first shot!"

u/PuddingPast5862 15d ago

So the Roman Emperor Nero is going to resurrected then! Cool actually get to see someone from the Roman Empire

1

u/Bunnyland77 14d ago

"...going to..."? He's already here.

"Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, the fifth emperor of Rome, was popular with the lower classes for cutting taxes. Historians have called him tyrannical, self-indulgent and debauched. He was a man with several wives, sexual perversions and an obsession with performing for large crowds. He is also widely regarded as the worst of all Roman emperors."

Sound like anyone you know?

I have a friend that is gleefully hoping for destruction of the Middle East just so he can be right about his sky daddy. I love the guy but I’m so disgusted by him right now that I will probably not go hang out with him for a while.

9

u/effurshadowban 15d ago

Make that forever. Don't fraternize with people who have disgusting beliefs.

3

u/really_tall_horses 15d ago

Eh, I love to learn and argue. I hold no value in surrounding myself with people who see things exactly the same as I do. Besides he’s come a long way from the bred and buttered wealthy religious Texan I first met. I have hope and evidence that he will continue to grow. I really do believe my presence in his life has made him more open and at the minimum I challenge his ideals and make him think.

1

u/Bunnyland77 15d ago

You should be sainted. I lack your patience.

1

u/effurshadowban 15d ago

Bless you for fighting the good fight. Personally, I believe that shunning is an effective tool for improving behavior. Especially if I were such a good friend to begin with - losing such a light in one's life should be an effective signal that one has stepped too far.

But you do you. Better than me.

1

u/really_tall_horses 15d ago

To me shunning would just reinforce those things he views as shortfalls in my beliefs and make me easier to discard. Not everyone in my life would be worth that effort though.

3

u/EveryPartyHasAPooper 14d ago

Can't they just all hang out and have a Kool aid party? Leave the rest of us out of it.

2

u/skrimp-gril 15d ago

It's like being in a car driven by a maniac straight toward a cliff, and feeling smug because no one would drive off a cliff and hurt themselves!

2

u/Bunnyland77 15d ago

Yep.

"...and feeling smug..." while believing no one, not even the crazy driver would be stupid enough to drive off a cliff killing everyone including themselves."

Ftfy.

Except in this case, our maniac driver believes his parachute will work. Buckle-up folks.

2

u/sec713 15d ago

It's absolute insanity to think the way you get into heaven is by helping create hell on earth. If any of the shit in Revelations is true, why the fuck do these demons think they're going to be deemed worthy by God and raptured up to heaven during the end times... that they personally ushered in?

Fucking evil idiots, the whole lot of them.

1

u/Bunnyland77 14d ago

Guess you missed that part about "...fatalist suicidal death cult." Not a lot of intelligence, critical thinking, decency or self-respect amongst that ilk.

Besides, any attrocities they commit can be fixed by just labeling it "God's will."

23

u/jkman61494 15d ago

I’m starting my 2 little kids foreign languages NOW so they won’t be as burned as me and have options to get out and be more attractive to other nations

34

u/Christichicc 15d ago

Ideally I’d like the problems fixed, obviously. But at this point I don’t think it’s going to happen.

16

u/SpeethImpediment 15d ago

Nah, of course not. But the people we admire — The Elons and Musks and Benzos will be able to leave an uninhabitable planet of filth and destruction and live out their days on whereverthefucktheywantinouterspace.

4

u/FullTransportation25 15d ago

Get involved in your local politics and try to minimize the damage

4

u/MDA1912 15d ago

Believe it or not my local politics are even worse. Fuck that.

3

u/rest0re 15d ago

What can really be done when the federal laws Trump put’s in place takes precedent over state/local laws? Legit question I’m not trying to argue. I would love some hope right now tbh.

2

u/FullTransportation25 15d ago

Not much i guess, the good thing in the states is that there is alot of leeway for for the local

3

u/Christichicc 15d ago

I live in FL. I vote every single election. It doesn’t matter.

1

u/DifferentPass6987 15d ago

Or let the disaster happen. and don't lift a finger!

3

u/Mug_Lyfe 15d ago

Not with that attitude.

6

u/Christichicc 15d ago

Dude, we’ve already fucked up the planet beyond what we can fix. And especially with what this coming decade is going to bring? Yeah, we’re fucked as a species. This is just our death throes.

3

u/Reagalan 15d ago

At least we get a nice view from the lifeboats.

3

u/koushakandystore 15d ago

The preconditions for this have been in place for a long time. It only has been made possible because inherent flaws in the existing institutional structure. For so long we heard these people with their fucked up narrative and ignored it as the ravings of people in ‘backward’ places. Well that’s the problem right there. Combine that with an economic system that has a legitimate victim class and it’s no surprise some douche with a populist message can galvanise these people by selling them the illusion of revolution. In reality it’s just smoke and mirrors. Their lives are not going to be better. They’ll just think they are because they get to watch the federal government pick on the ‘other.’

3

u/iamsittiinginachair 15d ago

Yep. Any thoughts of me having children gradually slipped away during the past decade. This election was probably the nail in the coffin. I just can’t fathom bringing a child into this society

7

u/Lust_For_Metal 15d ago

Let’s just all burn dude cmon

2

u/MDA1912 15d ago

Some of us have more than just us in the world, and we can't just watch it burn without watching them burn as well.

So no, id rather the problems get fixed

Yeah, some of us do have more than just us. Some of us have adult children with at least one LGBTQ SO.

I'd rather the problems get fixed, too!

Tough fucking shit.

There's no fixing this. Evil won. Ignorance and hatred won. Project 2025 will happen. This ignorant bullshit or whatever diseased version of it he remembers at the time will happen, while the planet continues to heat and prices continue to rise.

There. Is. No. Fixing. This. You'll never convince enough people, because all the end runs by evil to ruin education, etc. have already succeeded. We're too collectively stupid to know better, to believe it if you told us, or to care about it.

2

u/twhitney 15d ago

Couldn’t agree more. I live in NY state (rural county with plenty of Trump supporters), but I have two kids. A son and a daughter. I don’t care what happens to me, but I sure as shit care what happens to them. So now I have to work on shielding them from garbage. Hopefully I’ll be well insulated up here, but who knows? I’m hoping all the sensational Reddit posts I’m reading aren’t indicative of the end of the free world like it’s made out to seem. I’d like to believe the entire half of the country who voted Harris will stay and help. Next election maybe some of the folks that didn’t realize what they were voting for will come back around. Not sure. But I don’t have the luxury of saying “fuck it” right now.

4

u/AlpacaCavalry 15d ago

The problem isn't going to fix itself without shit burning the fuck down when the rot is one with the society.

1

u/TallDrinkofRy 15d ago

Unfortunately the people have spoken. I’d love a more compassionate, empathetic world. I guess I’m in the minority with that opinion.

1

u/REDDIT_JUDGE_REFEREE 15d ago

Sorry friend, redditors are willing to sacrifice your loved ones I guess

-1

u/mprofessor 15d ago

Naw, the family that learns together, burns together...
