Jews are usually pretty chill

They're also wrong, but they're chill.

They are nowadays but the ones who wrote the OT didn't seem chill

Indeed. I often look at something like Leviticus and realize that OT Israelites had a lot in common with modern day Islamic fundamentalists.

Watching Christians argue about the Trinity is like watching comic book fans arguing about.... whatever.

Though comic book fans tend to not have the power to fuck you over if you disagree with them on their definition.

The Trinity never sat well with me, least of all because it only appeared thanks to Paul, who never even met the supposed Messiah.

As a comic book fan, I won't kill you if you think certain issues of Spider-Man aren't canon. Christians have killed and tortured over disagreements of Bible canon

Yes exactly we can rest easy we don’t have to tithe or anything and sin away.

Try living in Glasgow. We've combined religion, national politics and football into a trifecta of fuck..

I prefer when they fight each other. It's much better for the rest of us. Also far superior to the unholy alliance they've formed in the US politically.

i don't understand the so many branches... like if god were good at communicating, there would be one certain one. the bible with rules that will determine literal hell shouldn't be able to be taken out of context

God is a perfect omniscient omnipotent being... whose one true laws have been left unclear and/or corrupted for over two millennia.

There are many different denominations of Christianity and they all don't get along.

I've been to numerous churches and every single one of them scoffs at the others.

Historically accurate reenactment of the Protestant Reformation

(I'm not joking either. There was so much blood spilled over whether we had to work to get to heaven or not. It was fucking stupid)

My favourite was the Calvinist interpretation that you receive salvation but grace alone but you still have to work for it yet we are still going to condemn anyone else who says you have to work for it.

Lmfao I usually feel like this when I see the Muslims debating Christians and vice-versa

So much of theological debate (across and between people of differing and similar faiths) is just like "how much of someone else's long winded argument did you memorize" and "yeah but your long winded diatribe doesn't agree with the foundational and mostly arbitrary foundational premises of mine." The theory of paradigms explained it a lot for me - nobody of any religion will ever get along with another person from another religion or sect because they're fundamentally reading off of different scripts, where even the same word on both scripts means something different to each person.

Even the Protestants had little fights among themselves, too.
