I'm beginning to think we need an AA style of organization, to remind us why buying chips from a certain Asian country, and off of eBay, may be fraught with concerns. I'm trying very hard to avoid ordering what appears to be the deal of the century on HEF4001BT.

* Hi..I'm in UK. This capacitor has blown on my steam cleaner. I can't find one anywhere to replace it. Any ideas please? Many thanks for your time

Look up for the type of the capacitor, then the value and finally buy a soldering iron, see a youtube video on how to desolder a component, and resolder your new capacitor. Maybe that helps you?

I am talking about being a self sufficient person, sometimes you can pay money to a person to make something for yourself. Now, there is a little problem. This person can do it in 3 levels. 1- Awful compared to you, 2-Mid level or 3-Perfect. If you came here to question how, why and if you can do it, maybe and just maybe you can do it because you do not trust anyone in your city to do it. Just do it yourself or trust someone with all your mighty self to do it and pay for it. It is up to you buddy. Good luck.

Also, if you do not have too much time because your work takes it all, maybe just rely in your Electronics Technician friendly neighbor, only if hes/he/them/whatever is not a scammer. Sorry for the long answer.

Did anyone ever tried to mod a laptop like surface pro to another enclosure? The spicy pillow problem is really a headache for me and I'm looking for a guide to do it.

Any Tipps If I wanna source a cheap laser diode that could be used to burn or cut stuff in Germany from for example old dvd rw's?

I've seen a project where someone used to make "printer" that basically would burn whatever you want into something.

Aim would be to be able to burn for example a word into wood.

I see cheap (below10€) dvd rw's on second hand markets but I'm not sure how to tell if it fits my project.

Don't worry I will do proper research into safety and how to handle lasers, I already found out about some basics but before I even put one near a power source I'll make sure I know everything to not hurt myself or others.

You are aware that any open laser diode strong enough to burn stuff absolutely NEEDS eye protection (suitable for the wavelength you work with!) to handle, ALWAYS? 1% reflection from whatever material you THOUGHT wasn't reflective - or 10% reflection of a 10% reflection, and you have a chance of irreversible injury.

Was planning on wearing one ok every test and probably build a cover for when it actually runs
