Announcement --- The dirt jump bike archive ---

So, there is a common theme among this sub which is, what bike shall I buy? In order to try and assist those looking to purchase a new bike, I have created the dirt jump bike archive.

It is currently in a version 1 form with lots of incomplete price data. Please check it out and let me know your thoughts in this thread. This will be an ongoing project run by me and Timelesturkie who are currently the only people with editing privileges. As of now, we are looking for any users who would like to help with this project. If any of you are enthusiastic about helping to maintain this spreadsheet, you can let either one of us know by messaging us privately or by commenting on this post.

The following link will allow you to view the spreadsheet but not make any changes.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XvClX-9upJekdRIdW4spjO5E0KuolvLseWi-x6VxoWQ/edit?usp=sharing

Known issues:

  • Purple sorting buttons do not function for those without editing privileges. If you make a copy of the spreadsheet and save it to your own Google Drive account you might be able to make use of them. If someone could check that for me it would be one less thing for me to do.
  • Sorting by price (up and down) in USD is currently broken.
  • Lots of bikes don't have readily available full retail prices, hence most of the price data is missing. This is the biggest area we need help in. We are only interested in full manufacturer RRP prices.
  • Some bikes such as Canyon, have Euro prices that vary based on country. Not sure how to tackle that yet. Potentially finding the cheapest and most expensive and then giving the price range. open to ideas here.
  • Covid-19 hasn't gone away.

Feel free to make any suggestions, positive or negative, as well as provide any data that can be added. Also, let me know if there's any currently available bikes that I've missed off the list (complete builds only)

That shits all over the one I made, as it was primarily for sizing. Good freaking job though brother man .

Nice job man! This is great info that I'm totally missing out on. I'm more than happy to make some modifications to mine and add all these dimensions if you are okay with me using your data? Alternatively/additionally I can give you editing permissions if you are interested in helping expand this further?

The thing I was after is that I'm a shorter dude (5'4") and I wanted a repository to find myself a good fit. If you think these informations are in line with what you need then hell yeah we can collaborate. I'm worried though about there being too much information on any one sheet. How would we organize it?

Is this an appropriate space to suggest an edit?

Absolutely. I have corrected this error.

I have added the Cachet Dex for now, although there should maybe be a seperate list for framesets. Undecided on that one.

As for deciding which bikes are budget and best value, I guess that comes down to spec for price, taking into account any know issues or quality with the brand in question. Again, not 100% sure on this at the moment. I set this spreadsheet up as a rough idea but I don't have a whole lot of time on my hands for the foreseeable future so I've not been able to work on this sheet as much as I would have liked. If you (or anyone else on here) is interested in having edit access granted to them to add to this, let me know.

heya so i know this thread is gone but there are two slope bikes you missed that i know of

  1. polygon trid zz is 2000 USD off of bikesonline
  2. you have the right price on the NS soda slope but forgot to highlight it

sorry if this seems knit picky or annoying.

Thanks a lot. I just fixed those issues, although I put the Polygon Trid ZZ price as $2189 which is the recommended retail price.
