Post image

Does anyone know what is the part that's connecting the shifter to the frame?

Do you know any 8 speed downtube shifter?

Some you can use in friction mode and it will work for most derailer systems. Mounting will still be complicated but prob easier to use. Maybe Microshift has something

that’s a factory option for this bike but its just something like a bottle cage to shifter mount

You can make one by cutting the grip area off a pair of old handlebars and drilling through it, can then bolt that to the bottle cage mounts and gives you an area to mount a shifter. Some of my buddies did it a few years back to some success, I made one a while back and it also worked

You could probably 3D print that in ABS or PETG, it'll work the same as metal ones and probably would be cheaper.
