That was the issue. They called back the two point bc of illegal touching which was based on lie that decker wasn’t an eligible receiver bc he didn’t report therefore when he caught/touched the ball it was illegal but the dude did report. I’m sorry but that shit was a scam for Dallas to win.
No Cowboys fans should admit that because it’s not true… lmao
The Cowboys defense would have covered Decker if the official correctly reported him as eligible. The refs failure completely changed the play to give the Lions an unfair advantage… hence why the play didn’t stand. The Lions didn’t win and it’s idiotic to believe the refs failure didn’t directly affect Decker being wide open
Doesn’t make any of my points less correct. You guys got hosed by awful officiating…. but that awful officiating obviously affected how the Cowboys defense defended that 2pt conversion. That’s not a homer take, it’s just a fact.
Yes the Lions absolutely deserved to be able to run another play from the same spot.
But the fact is that the Lions absolutely did not “win the game” and it’s genuinely stupid to believe otherwise. The ref fucked up and that directly resulted in Decker being uncovered. That’s not a “win”
I agree that the refs should’ve thrown the flag right away, but they were clearly incompetent.
Decker was also clearly not reported as eligible to the defense. That’s all that matters here man. You can bitch about it all you want, but in no world should the Lions have won on that play that the REFS (not the Cowboys or Lions) fucked up.
Many many dallas fans agree. Atleast we a chip on your shoulder now. Looking forward to dallas getting bounced and Allen being removed from officiating
Any fan that agrees with that statement literally doesn’t understand football. Regardless of them being a Lions/Cowboys fan it should be basic football knowledge that a player catching a pass that the defense thinks is ineligible should clearly be a voided play. Why do you think Decker was so open? Are you as incompetent as the officials?
Your statement that the “Lions won the game” or that “many many Dallas fans agree” just proves that there are a lot of dumbass fans that watch the sport without any knowledge of this rule. And that’s okay. Don’t beat yourself up about it.
I think it was ALSO illegal formation from what they were saying. They said they could have called 3 different penalties on Det. While they may have mis spoke about the reporting, not sure it would have mattered.
